Abstract

A Water Seal Drainage (WSD) design was made to remove air and fluid from the pleural cavity in the thorax (lung cavity) using a connecting tube or chest tube to maintain the negative pressure of the cavity. Under normal circumstances, the pleural cavity has negative pressure and only a little pleural fluid is filled. Suction pumps have a high pressure with a pressure range of -10 kPa to -80 kPa. The pressure is large enough so that it is not suitable for thorax because it can cause damage to internal organs due to high pressure. WSD specifically for thorax has a low pressure which is below -5 kPa / -40 mmHg. This WSD is equipped with a hand switch, water level and automatic Arduino Uno based exhaust system which has a pressure below -26.6 kPa / -20 cmHg to suction and pressure below -3.4 kPa / -2.6 cmHg to remove liquid from the bottle . The hand switch itself functions as a manual control to make it easier for the user, while the level sensor functions as a safety level for fluid levels in the tool and also an automatic fluid disposal system so that it is more efficient.

Abstract

Infant warmer is one of the tools used to provide comfort and warmth to newborns, where the baby needs a temperature that is in accordance with the temperature in the mother's womb, which is between 34ºC - 37ºC. This tool is made so that a newborn baby can feel the temperature outside the mother's womb will be the same as the temperature that is in the mother's womb. Until now, infant warmer still has to be connected to the PLN nets to activate it. This study aims to create and design infant warmers with DC pemanass equipped with batteries so that when the electricity dies by the PLN this tool can still be used. Data analysis results for power supply output, 12V pemanas input measurement is 11.9V with 0.8% error and 11.8V with 1.6% error, still within the tolerance limit of 5%. The measurement results of temperature comparison between DS18B20 sensor and thermometer, have an average difference of 0.3ºC or 1% error, so that it is still within reasonable limits. This tool has a maximum electric power of 36 Watt which saves power usage around 80%. Compared to a real device where the power needed is around 200 Watts to 300 Watt.

Abstract

The medical image system in the form of digital examination results using Computed Radiography (CR) needs to be analyzed, this can be done by knowing the quality of the image contrast resolution and the quality of its spatial resolution. This study conducted a comparative test between two methods of analyzing contrast resolution of medical images. Image quality on Computed Radiography can be determined using contrast resolution analysis, namely calculating the CNR value and PSNR value. The study was carried out using a phantom to represent the density of the bone. The voltages used are 50 kV, 60 kV, 70 kV and 81 kV, respectively. With each voltage, the tube current and exposure time (mAs) were varied 1.6 mAs, 2 mAs, 4 mAs, 8 mAs, 16 mAs, and 32 mAs. The higher the CNR value obtained, the better the image quality. While the PSNR value to get the optimal quality of medical image contrast, the current-time variation of 4 mAs and 16 mAs must be used. Due to the time-current variation, a high PSNR value is obtained, which indicates that the noise of the medical image is getting smaller so that a good contrast quality of the medical image is obtained. Both of these methods can be used to test the suitability of X-ray device, especially for quality control of medical images

Abstract

The climatic chamber is a calibration medium for the thermohygrometer. This simple climatic chamber was built using the Arduino uno, DHT22 sensor, heater, and peltier. The climatic chamber was designed and manufactured well and cheaply. Climatic chamber testing of the design results is carried out to determine the success rate of the tool. Tests are carried out using the Madgetech data logger tool through monitoring or monitoring of temperature within a certain period of time. The results of temperature monitoring at two observed values, namely temperatures of 250C to 300C and temperatures of 300C to 350C, showed good results with the corresponding rhythm of temperature increase and temperature decrease. It's just that the decrease in temperature still takes longer than the increase in temperature. This shows that the heater can be said to be working optimally and the peltier is not fully working. So it is necessary to do further studies related to the peltier for the climatic chamber both in terms of number and characteristics.
