Abstract

Abstract. Composite of rice husk and asphalt silica was carried out at a ratio of 1: 0.7; 1: 0.8 and 1: 0.9 and heated at 150oC for 3 hours. The characteristics of the phase structure, microstructure, and functional groups were analyzed using X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy-Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (SEM-EDS) and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), physical properties analysis (density, porosity) and mechanics (compressive strength). The XRD results showed that the phase in asphalt silica composites detected amorphous carbon at 2θ = 18º and amorphous silica with the amorphous silica peak shifted from 2θ = 22º to 2θ = 20º. Microstructure analysis shows that cracks and clusters are bigger with grain sizes of 7,742 µm, 8,495 µm and 10,921 µm respectively, and the sample composition shows percentage of silicon (Si), Oxygen (O) and sodium (Na), respectively. decreases and the percentage of carbon (C), sulfur (S) increases. The results of FTIR show that the functional groups of Si-OH, Si-O-Si and Si-O bonds are decreasing and the functional groups of C-H bonds are increasing. The addition of asphalt causes the value of density increases, the value of porosity and compressive strength decreases.

Abstract

A Water Seal Drainage (WSD) design was made to remove air and fluid from the pleural cavity in the thorax (lung cavity) using a connecting tube or chest tube to maintain the negative pressure of the cavity. Under normal circumstances, the pleural cavity has negative pressure and only a little pleural fluid is filled. Suction pumps have a high pressure with a pressure range of -10 kPa to -80 kPa. The pressure is large enough so that it is not suitable for thorax because it can cause damage to internal organs due to high pressure. WSD specifically for thorax has a low pressure which is below -5 kPa / -40 mmHg. This WSD is equipped with a hand switch, water level and automatic Arduino Uno based exhaust system which has a pressure below -26.6 kPa / -20 cmHg to suction and pressure below -3.4 kPa / -2.6 cmHg to remove liquid from the bottle . The hand switch itself functions as a manual control to make it easier for the user, while the level sensor functions as a safety level for fluid levels in the tool and also an automatic fluid disposal system so that it is more efficient.

Abstract

Infant warmer is one of the tools used to provide comfort and warmth to newborns, where the baby needs a temperature that is in accordance with the temperature in the mother's womb, which is between 34ºC - 37ºC. This tool is made so that a newborn baby can feel the temperature outside the mother's womb will be the same as the temperature that is in the mother's womb. Until now, infant warmer still has to be connected to the PLN nets to activate it. This study aims to create and design infant warmers with DC pemanass equipped with batteries so that when the electricity dies by the PLN this tool can still be used. Data analysis results for power supply output, 12V pemanas input measurement is 11.9V with 0.8% error and 11.8V with 1.6% error, still within the tolerance limit of 5%. The measurement results of temperature comparison between DS18B20 sensor and thermometer, have an average difference of 0.3ºC or 1% error, so that it is still within reasonable limits. This tool has a maximum electric power of 36 Watt which saves power usage around 80%. Compared to a real device where the power needed is around 200 Watts to 300 Watt.

Abstract

Ilmenite is a natural material in the form of sand which contains heavy metal minerals that are very abundant in Lampung province. This research aims to determine the content of TiO2 from Lampungs iron sand by leaching method with temperature variation. The iron sand are mixed with sodium hydrogen carbonate (NaHCO3), then heated at 700◦C for an hour. This research uses 5 samples with leaching temperature variation of 70, 80, 90, 100, and 110◦C for 2 hours. The acid leaching process uses HCl 12 M with a ratio of iron sand and HCl of 1:4, while the water leaching process uses 50 ml of distilled water. Furthermore, the samples are characterized using XRD and XRF to determine TiO2 content in the iron sand. The result shows that the highest amount of TiO2 is obtained in the sample with the leaching temperature of 110◦C for 2 hours, which is approximately 61%.

Abstract

[Bahasa]: Pandemi Covid-19 yang melanda seluruh dunia mempengaruhi proses pembelajaran anak sekolah, khususnya di Indonesia. Mereka diharuskan belajar dari rumah secara daring sehingga memerlukan pendampingan dari orang tua. Orang tua dari anak-anak dengan berbagai latar belakang pendidikannya belum optimal dalam melakukan pendampingan belajar ini. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan peran Rumah Belajar Garasi dalam menjaga semangat belajar anak-anak di lingkungan RT 04 Jalan Kramat Jaya, Desa Hajimena, Natar, Lampung Selatan. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, tim pengabdian bersama pengelola rumah belajar membuat perangkat media pembelajaran berupa modul dan video yang disebut dengan Garasi kids serta pemberian edukasi kepada warga selaku orang tua. Tim pengabdian juga membuat program pendukung lainnya seperti kegiatan mewarnai dan membuat mozaik untuk anak serta menghadirkan mobil pintar di Rumah Belajar Garasi. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan melalui dua pendekatan yaitu edukasi terhadap orang tua dan pendampingan anak mereka dalam proses belajar. Edukasi kepada orang tua ditujukan agar mereka memiliki kemampuan untuk membimbing anak-anaknya saat belajar di rumah. Sementara pendampingan kepada anak ditujukan agar mereka lebih mudah untuk memahami materi pelajaran khususnya bernalar matematika. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Garasi kids pada Rumah Belajar Garasi yang disertai keaktifan, semangat belajar, anak dan juga dukungan orang tua mampu meningkatkan kemampuan bernalar matematika anak-anak secara signifikan. Meskipun terdapat sebagian kecil anak-anak berada pada predikat cukup baik dalam menyerap matematika, namun mereka memiliki keunggulan di bidang seni dan kemampuan bekerja sama dengan teman-temannya. Minat baca anak-anak juga tumbuh dengan kehadiran mobil pintar di Rumah Belajar Garasi. Dengan demikian, optimalisasi Rumah Belajar Garasi melalui Garasi kids dapat memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap proses pembelajaran anak di rumah pada masa pendemi. Kata Kunci: anak-anak, Rumah Belajar Garasi, Garasi kids, pandemi Covid-19 [English]: The Covid-19 pandemic has hit the world affecting the learning process of school children, especially in Indonesia. They are required to study from home so they need assistance from their parents. Parents with various educational backgrounds are not optimal in providing this learning assistance.This community service program aims to increase the role of the Rumah Belajar Garasi in maintaining the enthusiasm of children's learning in RT 04 Kramat Jaya Street, Hajimena, Natar, South Lampung. To achieve this goal, we created Garasi kids and educated the society. In addition, other supporting programs were also made, such as coloring, making mosaics, and presenting Mobil Pintar. The implementation of this program was carried out through two approaches, namely educating parents and assisting children in learning. Education for parents is intended to guide their children while studying at home, while mentoring children is targeted to make it easier for them to understand the subject matter. The results of this program show that the use of Garasi kids in Rumah Belajar Garasi accompanied by activeness, enthusiasm for children's learning and also parental support can significantly improve children's mathematical reasoning abilities. Although a small number of children are in a pretty good predicate in understanding mathematics, they have the ability in the arts and work together with their friends. Children's interest in reading also grows with the coming of mobil pintar to the Rumah Belajar Garasi. Thus, the optimization of the Rumah Belajar Garasi through the Garasi Kids makes a positive contribution to the children's learning process at home during the pandemic. Abstract

UTILIZATION OF ACCU WASTE AND ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS AS AN ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY ELECTRICAL ENERGY SOURCE. This community service is a form of community development activity in the utilization of Accu waste and electronic components as an alternative energy source for mini-inverters. The mini-inverter module is made using the Joule Thief method. This method is able to increase low electric power from a 1.5-volt battery source into AC alternating current that can turn on LED lights. The service activity will be carried out in Hajimena Village, Natar District, South Lampung Regency in August 2020. This community service activity was attended by 32 participants. Each service participant has been fostered and guided about the process of making mini-inverter modules from waste batteries and components that are no longer used so that they are ready to use and suitable for use and of economic value. The components used in the manufacture of mini-inverters are all obtained from components from AKI and used electronic components as alternative energy sources. With this activity, it is hoped that the partner community will understand how to utilize waste that is difficult to decompose into ready-to-sell goods.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini merupakan bentuk pengemnagnag dalam memanfaatkan daun sirih sebagai hand sanitizer. Kegiatan ini bertempat si Desa Hajimena Kecamatan Natar Lampung Selatan dengan jumlah peserta 33 orang. Daun sirih banyak dijumpai di pekarangan rumah warga dan potensi sebagai antiseptik namun belum dimanfaatkan dengan baik dan budaya cuci tangan dengan baik dan benar sesuai anjuran WHO masih kurang. Permasalahan tersebut mendorong untuk membina masyarakat guna mengelola potensi daun sirih sebagai salah satu tanaman obat keluarga yang dapat dimanfaatkan potensinya untuk pencegahan penyebaran Covid-19 dan memberikan edukasi serta bimbingan teknis untuk membuat hand sanitizer dari ekstrak dauh sirih dikombinasikan dengan formula World Health Organization (WHO) dengan menerapkan teknik yang sederhana sehingga warga dapat mengolahnya secara mandiri, hasilnya masyarakat telah mampu membuat hand sanitizer sendiri, serta bisa mencuci tangah dengan baik dan benar, didukung dengan terjadi peningkatan pencapaian TIK sebelum kegiatan pengabdian adalah 37,67 %. Kemudian, setelah diadakan kegiatan pengabdian terjadi peningkatan pencapaian TIK menjadi 82,32 %. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pembuatan hand sanitizer berbasis ekstrak daun sirih. Kata kunci: Daun sirih, Hand Sanitizer, Covid-19, World Health Organization  ABSTRACT Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat activity is a form of development in utilizing betel leaf as a hand sanitizer. This activity took place in Hajimena Village, Natar District, South Lampung with 33 participants. Betel leaves are often found in people's yards and have potential as an antiseptic but have not been used properly and the culture of washing hands properly and correctly according to WHO recommendations is still lacking. These problems encourage the community to manage the potential of betel leaf as one of the family medicinal plants whose potential can be utilized to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and provide education and technical guidance to make hand sanitizers from betel leaf extract combined with the World Health Organization (WHO) formula. by applying a simple technique so that residents can process it independently, the result is that the community has been able to make their own hand sanitizer, and can wash their hands properly and correctly, supported by an increase in ICT achievement before service activities was 37.67%. Then, after the service activities were held, there was an increase in ICT achievement to 82.32%. This shows that there is an increase in public knowledge about the manufacture of hand sanitizers based on betel leaf extract.  Keywords: Betle Leaf, Hand Sanitizer, Covid-19, World Health Organization

Abstract

Telah berhasil dibuat membrane separator yang berpotensi diaplikasikan untuk baterai lihitum-ion, membrane separator digunakan untuk proses transfer ion dan mencegah terjadinya arus pendek. Dalam penelitian ini membrane separator PVA/SiO2 disintesis memggunakan metode electrospinning dengan variasi berat SiO2 (0, 0.6, 1.2, 2) wt%. SiO2 yang digunakan adalah hasil ekstraksi silika sekam padi. Pengaruh penambahan SiO2 pada PVA untuk meningkatkan karakteristik membrane diantaranya porositas, dan stabilitas pada suhu tinggi. Hasil membrane yang berhasil dibuat PVA, dan PVA/SiO2 membentuk serat nano dengan ukuran diameter serat semakin kecil ketika ditambahkan  SiO2 yaitu ~ 220 nm, ukuran diameter semakin kecil  meningkatkan porositas membrane dan meningkatkan kinerja membrane dengan stabilitas suhu 165 oC

Abstract

ABSTRAK Desa Hajimena merupakan salah satu desa yang berada di Kecamatan Natar Lampung Selatan. Infrastruktur fasilitas umum dan pendidikan sudah sangat memadai untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dasar dan pendidikan masyarakat setempat. Kelengkapan infrastuktur yang ada di desa hajimena belum didukung oleh perkembangan sistem informasi yang memadai salah satunya adalah media informasi desa berbasis website. Media informasi desa sangat diperlukan untuk mengikuti perkembangan teknologi informasi yang sangat pesat, dewasa ini tuntutan terhadap sistem informasi berbasis komputer dan internet hampir di segala bidang, baik pemerintahan, industri, bisnis pendidikan, dan bidang lainnya. Permasalahan tersebut mendorong untuk membuat sekaligus membina perangkat desa untuk mengelola website Desa sebagai sarana informasi digital yang di dalamnya terdapat layanan administrasi desa, pelayanan desa, dan profil desa. Metode yanga digunakan pada kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat menggunakan teknik ceramah, praktik, dan diskusi. Hasilnya kegiatan pengabdian yang telah dilakukan, masyarakat mampu memahami terkait pengelolaan website khususnya adalah operator desa, hal ini didukung dengan terjadi peningkatan pencapaian TIK sebesar 83,5% yang sebelum kegiatan pengabdian yaitu 41,83 %. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan kemampuan masyarakat tentang pengelolaan website Desa. Kata Kunci: Hajimena, Layanan, Informasi Digital, Website Desa,   ABSTRACT Hajimena Village is one of the villages in Natar District, South Lampung. The infrastructure of public facilities and education is very adequate to meet the basic needs and education of the local community. The completeness of the existing infrastructure in the Hajimena village has not been supported by the development of sufficient information systems, one of which is the website-based village information media. Village information media is very necessary to keep up with the very rapid information technology, this development of computer and internet-based information systems in almost all fields, be it government, industry, business, education, and other fields. This problem encourages the creation and development of village officials to manage the Village website as a means of digital information in which there are village administration services, village services, and village profiles. The method used in community service activities uses lecture, practice, and discussion techniques .The results of the service carried out, the community is able to understand the management of the website, especially village operators, this is supported by an increase in ICT by 83.5% before service activities, which is 41.83%. Abstract

The increase in plastic waste caused by population growth and human activities is capable of leading to negative consequences for the environment. The substantial accumulation contributes to environmental pollution since its resilience against microbial degradation poses a significant challenge. Furthermore, the utilization of bioplastics as a biodegradable substitute presents a viable strategy for diminishing reliance on synthetic plastics. Starch emerges as a prevalent primary component in the fabrication of bioplastics, owing to its array of merits including renewability, cost-effectiveness, non-toxicity, and facile degradability. The application of nanomaterials to bioplastics is believed to accelerate the degradation of bioplastics.  Therefore, this study aimed to identify the characteristics of nanomaterial from porang (Amorphophallus muelleri) and bioplastic. The method included the extraction of porang nanomaterial through a specified water-to-porang ratio (2.5:1) followed by sonication (50 W, 75 minutes). The formulation of bioplastics involved the amalgamation of corn starch, porang nanomaterial, and glycerol. In addition, the chemical properties of porang nanomaterials included 41.41% starch content, 13.49% amylose, 7.87% ash, and 2.52% calcium oxalate. The particle size of porang nanomaterials was distributed from 603.7-952.1 nm with an average 722.6 nm crystalline structure containing calcium oxalate. The bioplastic had the form of a thin brown layer with a thickness value ranging from 0.23-0.39 mm. This research was expected to provide new information related to the essential characteristics of nanomaterials from porang and its potential application in solving environmental issues caused by synthetic plastics.
