Abstract

Tanaman Obat Keluarga (Toga) adalah sebidang tanah di halaman rumah yang dimanfaatkan untuk menumbuhkan tumbuhan yang berkhasiat obat untuk memenuhi kebutuhan obat keluarga. Nilai fungsional taman Toga di pekarangan rumah Desa Bukian sudah tercapai namun penataan tamannya belum mempertimbangkan karakter tanaman, estetika serta filosofi Taman Tradisional Bali. Konsep dasar yang diterapkan adalah taman tematik yang menyeimbangkan antara keindahan taman dengan suplay tanaman obat, berdasarkan filosofi taman tradisional bali yang terdiri dari 7 unsur pembentuk taman di Bali. Yang ditonjolkan dari konsep ini adalah tata ruang sebagai alas, atap, dinding dan pola desain di masing-masing mandala yang saling terkait menjadi satu kesatuan sehingga mampu menjadi panduan pemilik rumah dalam menata taman, serta rekomendasi model desain taman Toga hasil dari penempatan tanaman pada konsep ruang yang telah dirancang berdasarkan karakter masing-masing tanaman dan menjadikan filosofi taman tradisional bali sebagai panduan. Dalam setiap perancangan taman di pekarangan diharapkan menggunakan filosofi tamana tradisional bali sebagai dasar sehingga dapat menjaga dan melestarikan kearifan lokal dan menjaga kesehatan keluarga dengan pengobatan herbal.

Abstract

Puputan Margarana as a city park is used as a public space that can accommodate outdoor activities for its users. Comfort is an important factor consider for users to conduct activity inside. User comfort level can be measured using the thermal humidity index formula based on the temperature and humidity variables. The temperature and humidity can be influenced by the presence of vegetation, especially trees. Differences in tree species composition will cause differences in the canopy density formed. This study aims to identify the effect of the combined tree canopy density on thermal comfort. This research method begins with determining the sample point based on the combination of canopy density to areas that are not shaded by the canopy. Then, the canopy was photographed at the sample point for analysis using Hemiview 2.1 software to obtain the leaf area index (LAI) value. Furthermore, independent samples T test, assessment of thermal comfort, correlation analysis and linear regression between variables. The results of the analysis show that there is a strong correlation between LAI with temperature, humidity, and THI. There were significant differences between THI at sample points 1, 2, 4, and 5 with LAI 1.68-4.53 against THI without canopy shade. Meanwhile, THI at sample points 3 and 6 with LAI 0.96-1.36 was not significantly different from THI without canopy shade. This shows that the combination of tree canopy density in this study has an effect on thermal comfort. This shows that canopy density can be one of the considerations in selecting trees for landscape design for climate engineering purposes.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Accessibility Design for Handicapped in Mangrove Reserve Recreation Area in Denpasar The research on designing accessibility for handicapped people in an outdoor recreation facility, specifically in mangrove reserve area, was done due to the authors concern in the lack of handicapped friendly public facilities in Indonesia. The choice on a natural setting site of mangrove reserve area is based on two reasons. First is to prove that design and creativity are able to create an accessible outdoor recreation facility for handicapped users. Second, improvements on handicapped facilities can be done without compromising the nature. The handicapped users access to recreation facilities are designed to give the maximum opportunities for users to interact with nature and receive information as well. Some facilities design may require assistance from others in order to make sure safety for handicapped users. Nonetheless, this research has offered ideas and alternatives of outdoor recreation facilities design for handicapped. Keywords: handicapped facilities, design for handicapped

Abstract

Badung Regency is a rapidly development area in Bali Province that caused by highly human activities. This development can be seen from the character of settlements in the are. Badung regency is divided into 3 development areas namely North Badung (sub-District Petang and Abiansemal), Middle Badung (sub-District Mengwi) and South Badung (sub-District Kuta Selatan, Kuta and Kuta Utara). The survey results on biophysical factors such as vegetation, land use, landforms and human factors i.e. land boundaries, patterns, infrastructure, and regional policy show that there are some different unique characteristics between these 3 development areas in Badung Regency. In general, landscapes of settlement in the North Badung are composed of linear housing along the main road but between houses tend to be separated by plantation area. Landscapes of settlement in the Middle Badung, consist of clustered housing along the road, with small access to the back of the house (rice fields) while, houses along the main road in the South Badung are shophouses and the residents' houses are clustered linear along small alley.

Abstract

Denpasar has been faced with a rapid proliferation of the so called ‘minimarket’ (modernized warung). While on the one hand this has meant a provision of more space for youth to congregate, it has caused economic deprivation for various small warung whose customers divert their purchases to these new enterprises on the other.  Supporting the idea of regulating the development of commercial functions in an urban area, this article offers a preliminary study of considerations used before the location for any minimarket is finalized by owners, prior to building permit application to the government.  Since this in fact corresponds to a franchised warung, these considerations are subject to locational constraints set by the main company. The study also investigates how this list of priorities is negotiated to either accommodate or adapt to given economic and other circumstances encountered in any potential new location. This research was undertaken in with West Denpasar as its focus, since it has the highest density of minimarkets in Denpasar. The highest concentration of such minimarts are located in the areas of Kertha Tega , Tegal Harum and Pemecutan Kelod. Keywords: minimarket; location; economic functions; urban development Abstrak Pertumbuhan minimarket waralaba yang sangat cepat di Kecamatan Denpasar Barat mengakibatkan berdampak pada termarginalkannya warung/toko tradisional. Hal mendasar yang perlu dilakukan adalah menganalisa keberadaan lokasi minimarket waralaba, sehingga menjadi pedoman dalam penataan ruang di Kota Denpasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif untuk menjawab permasalahan awal, yaitu faktor pemilihan lokasi, faktor utama pemilihan lokasi terkait karakteristik pemanfaatan lahan, dan kecenderungan sebaran minimarket waralaba di Kecamatan Denpasar Barat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan faktor-faktor pemilihan lokasi minimarket waralaba dipengaruhi oleh sepuluh faktor, dengan faktor utama pemilihan lokasi adalah faktor kawasan perdagangan dan jasa/komersial, faktor kedekatan terhadap fasilitas pendidikan, faktor kedekatan terhadap fasilitas kesehatan, dan faktor pola hidup modern. Minimarket waralaba pertama kali berlokasi pada daerah yang belum terdapat pesaing. Masuknya pesaing menyebabkan sebaran lokasi terjadi secara acak dengan mempertimbangan keuntungan aglomerasi dan adanya konsentrasi permintaan pasar. Sebaran minimarket secara tidak langsung cenderung membentuk spasial, mengelompok secara sentralisasi pada daerah pusat kota, dan menyebar ke arah barat, yaitu daerah Desa Tegal Kertha, Desa Tegal Harum, dan Desa Pemecutan Kelod. Secara tidak langsung ini membentuk desentralisasi dari pusat kota.

Abstract

The development of ​​ coastal areas in Denpasar City is no longer focused on one location in Sanur but rather prioritizes potential tourism areas such as the Ayung River Estuary in Kesiman Kertalangu Village. This area has a beautiful natural landscape which makes it a recreational destination for the surrounding community and several efforts have been made by the village government to make it desirable for tourists as observed in the evaluation of the beautiful landscape in Ayung river estuary to serve as an input for further planning of the area. This research was, therefore, conducted using a descriptive quantitative method and scenic beauty estimation for analysis. The results showed the high scenic beauty estimation category was on the west side of the Ayung River while the low category was in the coastal area to the north of the area. Moreover, the factors influencing the scenic beauty estimation value include vegetation, water elements, cleanliness, and the aesthetic form of hardscape/landscape elements.
