Abstract

Indonesia is the center of origin of bananas, and also the center of diversity with approximately more than 325 banana cultivars were found in Indonesia. The anatomical feature is essential as a basis for classification as well as the morphological feature. This research aimed to describe the morphological and anatomical characteristics of diploid Musa balbisiana and triploid Musa paradisiaca 'Kepok' bananas. Morphological characterizations were conducted according to the IPGRI descriptors for bananas (Musa spp.). Musa paradisiaca 'Kepok' was collected from Pontianak West Kalimantan and Musa balbisiana was collected from Nipah Panjang village Kubu Raya district West Kalimantan. The root, petiole, and leaf were dissected from banana samples for anatomical preparation. The microscope slide was prepared using paraffin method, stained with 1% safranine and 1% alcian blue. The anatomical characteristics of root and petiole of diploid Musa balbisiana and triploid Musa paradisiaca 'Kepok' were considerably similar. The difference between diploid and triploid banana leaf anatomy was the number of hypodermal layers. These sort of anatomical characterization could be applied as a reference for banana cultivars breeding.

Abstract

Scientific literacy research by the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) in the period 2000-2015 shows that the scientific literacy ability of Indonesian students is at a low level. This study aims to determine the scientific literacy ability of state high school students in Singkawang City. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The research was conducted in two public high schools in Singkawang City, namely SMA 1 and SMA 2 Singkawang. The samples taken were 127 students selected based on the simple random sampling technique. The research instrument used was a scientific literacy test in multiple-choice questions consisting of the dimensions of context, knowledge and competence. The results showed that the average science literacy test scores of SMA 1 students in the context dimension were 38%, the knowledge dimension was 40%, and the competence dimension was 39% which were very low. SMA 2 has 40% context dimension, 41% knowledge dimension and 39% competency dimension, classified as very low. So it can be concluded that SMA 1 and SMA 2 Singkawang students have very low scientific literacy skills based on three dimensions of scientific literacy ability

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengembangan LKPD dan/1menganalisis kevalidan LKPD berbasis discovery learning pada materi keanekaragaman hayati berdasarkan potensi lokal tumbuhan di Taman Digulis Pontianak. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan yang mengadopsi pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation dan Evaluation), tanpa tahapan implementasi/1dan evaluasi. Instrument penelitian berupa lembar validasi aspek media, lembar validasi aspek materi dan lembar validasi aspek kebahasaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKPD materi keanekaragaman hayati berbasis discovery learning berdasarkan potensi lokal tumbuhan di Taman Digulis Pontianak telah dikembangkan termasuk dalam kategori valid dari segi materi berdasarkan sepuluh aspek yang dinilai, valid dari segi media berdasarkan tigabelas aspek yang dinilai dan valid dari segi bahasa berdasarkan sembilan aspek yang dinilai dengan skor rata-rata aspek 73,6 %/1hingga disimpulkan LKPD yang dikembangkan valid dapat dilanjutkan ke tahap uji coba skala kecil dan skala besar dalam pembelajaran.Kata kunci:Discovery learning,Potensi lokal,Validitas LKPD

Abstract

This study aims to develop digital-based learning tools to train scientific literacy. The method used is the Research and Development development method. Sugiono's research model, however, usage trials, product revisions, and mass production were not carried out. The results of the validity interpretation research show that the learning device development product developed consists of language aspects 74%, material 85%, media 74%, while the practicality test obtains an average value of 77%. Interpretation of the results of student responses can be categorized as good with a value of 63% so that the learning device is said to be suitable for use by educators and students in the learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya pemanfaatan lingkungan sekitar sebagai sumber belajar biologi untuk memberikan pengalaman konkret kepada siswa. Kawasan Danau Sebedang, yang memiliki keanekaragaman ekosistem dan potensi lokal, dianalisis kelayakannya sebagai sumber belajar biologi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat kelayakan kawasan Danau Sebedang sebagai sumber belajar biologi berdasarkan aspek kemudahan akses, keamanan, efisiensi waktu, biaya, dan kesesuaian materi ajar. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, angket, dan dokumentasi. Angket disebarkan kepada 12 guru Biologi/IPA di Kecamatan Sebawi, Kabupaten Sambas. Data dianalisis dengan menghitung persentase jawaban responden pada lima aspek kelayakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kawasan Danau Sebedang memiliki tingkat kelayakan yang sangat tinggi untuk digunakan sebagai sumber belajar biologi, dengan presentase kemudahan akses sebesar 84%, keamanan 86%, efisiensi waktu 83%, biaya 86%, dan kesesuaian materi ajar 86%. Rata-rata keseluruhan skor kelayakan mencapai 85%, yang tergolong dalam kategori "sangat layak". Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa kawasan Danau Sebedang memiliki potensi besar untuk dimanfaatkan dalam pembelajaran biologi di tingkat SMP dan SMA, khususnya dalam materi interaksi makhluk hidup dengan lingkungan dan pencemaran lingkungan. Pemanfaatan kawasan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran dan memberikan pengalaman langsung kepada siswa.
