Abstract

One of the attractive services for the MSME group is the existence of one of the banking services offered by PT. Bank BRI Pulo Brayan Branch Unit I Medan, namely the People's Business Credit (KUR) based on the Minister of Finance Regulation Number 135/PMK.05/2008 concerning the People's Business Credit Guarantee Facility (KUR). However, it is important to note that the implementation of Unsecured KUR has a high degree of risk, so that countermeasures are needed to avoid the occurrence of non-performing loans (NPL). The research method used is normative-empirical legal research. Normative research is carried out and based on written provisions or other legal materials, while empirical research is carried out with a sociological approach obtained from primary data whose samples are directly from the community as the first source through field research. The activity of providing Unsecured KUR by PT. Bank BRI Pulo Brayan Branch Unit 1 Medan is based on a legal agreement that has legal consequences by adhering to the Pacta Sunt Servanda principle by applying the 5C+7P+3R principle which aims to prevent non-performing loans (Non Performing Loans) in the future.

Abstract

Visual identity and wayfinding systems are integral to shaping an institution’s image and accessibility. A strong logo, an effective, and efficient wayfinding system not only serves as an aesthetic element but also as a communication and navigation tool. Gakushudo Puri, Jakarta, as a Japanese language course institution, faces the problem of low visibility of the external logo and unclear directions to the classrooms on the second floor. This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to design a representative and functional external logo and wayfinding system. The methods used are field observation, interviews with management, graphic design, and participatory trials. The logo is designed with a minimalist concept so that the Gakushudo writing becomes the focus of attention and is adjusted to the existing building number in the middle of the entrance, so that it is harmonious. The Gakushudo letterform, as a symbol of harmony, features a color that matches the building number board, namely dark grey, and measures 74 cm x 10 cm. The logo, made of acrylic, is installed above the entrance and is easily visible from the main road. The directional system has graphic elements in the form of icons and bilingual text (Indonesian and Japanese) measuring 93cm x 40cm, which is installed above the hallway of the stairs leading to the classroom. The results show that the implementation of the external logo and consistent directional signs increases the visibility of the institution and the comfort of visitors. This activity contributes to strengthening the brand identity and physical access of non-formal educational institutions.

Abstract

The main problem in constructing the Pastoral Works Building (GKP) of St Francis Xaverius Parish in Tanjung Priok is the limited land available, so the building design must be able to optimally accommodate the needs of partners. The solution to this challenge is realised through designing a new building by following six stages, namely: 1) Examining the use of symbols, icons, and indexes; 2) Examining pastoral buildings based on certain philosophies; 3) Making St Fransiskus Xaverius as the main identity of GKP; 4) Carrying out the design theme in the form of a sailing ship metaphor and batik icons from five ethnicities-Java, North Sumatra, North Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara, and Chinese; 5) Considering the bird's eye view from the highway towards the design location; 6) Compiling complete drawings in the form of plans, views, and pieces of the GKP. The conclusion of the design process was the integrated application of the six steps, which materialised in the complete architectural drawings. Details include: 1) Interpretation of symbols, icons, and indexes in the GKP building; 2) Philosophical analysis based on the thoughts of Kisho Kurokawa, Christian Norberg-Schulz, and Martin Heidegger; 3) Affirmation of the building's identity according to the patron saint, Fransiskus Xaverius; 4) Application of the theme of sailing ships and batik icons from five ethnicities on the building's facade; 5) Attention to the visualisation of the building from a bird's eye view; 6) Preparation of comprehensive building plans, views, and sections. Thus, the design of the Pastoral Works Building is expected to fulfil partners' needs and positively contribute to all related parties.

Abstract

The main problem in designing the meeting indoor space lies in the effort to unite the symbiotic concept between the exterior and interior, representing the fusion of Indonesian and Japanese cultures. Therefore, the design of this meeting indoor space is directed to optimally accommodate the needs of partners while realising the symbiotic concept. This research implemented four main stages, namely: (a) examining the application of the Indonesia-Japan symbiosis concept by considering the partner's request regarding the positioning of the benches; (b) formulating a design idea that emphasises simplicity and functionality; (b) producing a three-dimensional visualisation with two alternative bench arrangements, both horizontally and vertically; and (d) making observations through photo documentation to ensure the suitability of the design with the partner's wishes. The design results show that applying the four stages in an integrated manner can produce comprehensive architectural drawings. Details of the results include: (a) interior design with the concept of Indonesia-Japan symbiosis, (b) review and design of building details, (c) spatial adjustments according to partner needs, and (d) realisation based on observations of seminar activities. Thus, the design of this meeting space is expected to meet the needs of partners and positively contribute to all parties involved.
