Abstract

The problem at SMAN 5 Solok Selatan is the low level of student learning competencies which includes aspects of knowledge, attitudes, and skills. Efforts that can be done are applying the LC 5E learning model on ecological material at Solok Selatan 5 High School. This type of research is a semi-experimental research design, namely the Randomized Control-Group Posttest Only Design. The population in the study of all students of class X MIPA SMAN 5 Solok Selatan who were enrolled in the 2018/2019 Academic Year amounted to 111 people grouped in four classes. Sampling used purposive sampling technique, class X MIPA 2 as experimental class I and class X MIPA 1 as experimental class II (control). Instruments in the form of posttest questions for knowledge competencies, observation sheets for attitude competencies and product assessment for skills competencies. Based on the results of the study using the t-test on the competency of students' knowledge the value of tcount was 3.012>1.67 t table, and the competency skill was tcount 3.67>1.67 t table. In the attitude competence of the experimental class 83% are good categories while the control class is 72% with sufficient categories. This shows that the hypothesis is accepted in the competence of knowledge, attitudes and skills. The conclusion of the study is that the LC 5E learning model has a positive effect on students' learning competencies in ecological material at SMAN 5 Solok Selatan.

Abstract

The development of Science and Technology (IPTEK) is so rapidly affecting the use of electronic technology in learning. Teachers are expected to be able to use multimedia in learning. One example of multimedia utilization in learning is the application for learning media in addition to PowerPoint presentations, namely the Prezi application. Prezi is an application that is used to make presentations more interesting. Prezi can contain text, images, videos and other presentation media placed on the presentation canvas and can be grouped in frames that have been provided. Most of the teachers who are not able to apply multimedia especially the Prezi application, it is necessary to have a guidebook to use the Prezi application so that teachers and students are able to use the application as a medium for learning. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to produce learning media using the Prezi application equipped with a guidebook on biodiversity material for high school class X students who are valid and practical. This type of research is research and development development research using the Instructional Development (IDI) model. The object of this research is learning media using the Prezi application equipped with a guidebook on biodiversity material for class X students. The subjects of this study were 30 students of class X high school UNP Laboratory Development as the practicality of using the Prezi application and guidebook and validation by 2 people Biology Department lecturer FMIPA UNP and 1 Biology High School teacher Development UNP Laboratory.Based on the results of the study, it was found that the results of the validation showed an average value of 89.93 in the valid category. This shows that the learning media using the Prezi application equipped with a guidebook was developed valid both in terms of feasibility aspects of content, language, presentation and aspects of graphics.

Abstract

On application Curriculum 2013 the learning more emphasize on approach scientific. One of model used by the teacher is PBL, but the implementation of the model has not been optimal in the learning process. The cause not yet optimal because there is no PBL-based teaching material available on Biology subjects. Based on the problems, the researchers have developed a PBL-based biological module bacterial material for Grade X senior high school students. However, the module that has been developed is unknown validity level. Therefore, the authors test the validity of the module developed. Assessment of module validity is carried out by validators who are experts in their respective fields of science, namely 2 lecturers majoring in Biology, Faculty of Math and Nature Science, State University of Padang and one of Biology teacher at SMAN 1 Lubuk Alung. Overall the average results of the PBL practice module based biological questionnaire on bacterial material for class X students of SMAN 1 Lubuk Alung were 3,49% with a very valid category. It shows that the modules that have been developed are very valid from the aspect of feasibility of content, language, presentation, graphics, and PBL on the evaluation of the validator.

Abstract

Understanding of concepts must be possessed by each student in order to get good learning outcomes and be able to apply concepts in daily life. Some of the biology's theories that is abstract and discusses variations of living things make it difficult for students to understand the concept, may also affect the test scores and it's not compatiblefor students to apply in their daily life. This study aims to determine the level of understanding of students about the concept of biodiversity material. This study was a descriptive study conducted at SMAN 1 Rupat Utara. The population of this research is MIPA students in 10th grade. The sample of this study took everymember of the population as many as 60 people. The sampling technique that used was a total sampling technique. The data used are primary data that obtained through research instruments such as two-tier multiple choice tests and analyzed quantitatively.Based on the results of the study, it obtained the level of the students'understanding in class X MIPA SMAN 1 Rupat Utara on biodiversity material that has understood the conceptis25.7%, 8.59% is misconception, and those who do not understand the concept is 65.8%.

Abstract

Misconceptions that occur in science learning especially Biology will have a negative impact on students, both for learning outcomes or incompatibility in the process of application in the daily lives of students. This study discusses concepts and studies class VIII students of SMP 21 Padang in the academic year 2018/2019 which discusses misconceptions about the material systems of living motion. This research is a descriptive study conducted at SMP 21 Padang. The population of this research are 243 person students entering 2018/2019. The sample are 48 person was taken from 20% of the total participation. Sampling technique used cluster random sampling. The data used are primary data obtained through multiple choice tests obtained by Certainty Index Response (CRI) and analyzed quantitatively through percentages. Based on the results, the percentage of students’ misconceptions regarding the structure and function of muscle system 23.96%, the concept of plants movement 22.91%, the concept of structure and joint function 20.83%, skeletal system 19.44%, disorders of system 18.75 %, the concept of animals movement 15.62%
