Abstract

Animal behavior is a response to external environmental conditions through detection by certain senses. Changes in physical factors in the environment before the earthquake (magnetic field anomaly) also influence the expression of specific behavioral changes in birds, namely the flight activity. However, scientific explanation of changes in orientation or direction of flight before the earthquake was not yet available. This article aims to describe the mechanism of bird's biological response to changes in the magnetic field before the earthquake. This study is a literature review. The results of theoretical synthesis explain that birds use magnetic receptors and light receptors that recognize changes in the magnetic field before the earthquake followed by an increase in the amount of intracellular calcium ions. Abnormal amounts of calcium stimulate the formation of more ATP which activates the function of actin and myosin, therefore muscle cells experience a bathmotrope effect expressed in the form of changes in flight direction.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a valid biology module based on emotional spiritual quotient (ESQ) in an evolution topic for senior high school students grade XII. This conducted research used the Plomp development method. In this model, there were three steps established, such as; preliminary research, developing or prototype phase, and assessment phase. For implementation validity, the research subjects were a biology teacher and five biology lecturers. The instrumentation used were; interview questionnaire, self-evaluation sheet, and validity questionnaire. The obtained data analyzed by qualitative and quantitative methods. From the research, yield a new biology module with ESQ based in evolution lesson for senior high school students grade XII. Based on the expert review, obtained the score of validity 3.71 which indicated very valid criteria.

Abstract

Preparedness is the main competency that must be possessed by disaster-prone communities, including students. Preparedness is built on knowledge. Previous research shows the level of student preparedness varies greatly, but there is no explanation yet about the relationship of knowledge and other factors that affect student preparedness. In addition, preparedness measures have not yet examined the component of disaster markers or precursors. This research was conducted to describe the factors associated with the level of student preparedness. The study population was science education students and the research sample was determined purposively, so that 104 science students took IPBA courses as samples. Research is descriptive research. Data collection was carried out through a TPPG preparedness questionnaire and an earthquake precursor knowledge test. In addition, secondary data in the form of UTS values are also used that represent basic earthly knowledge that is relevant to earthquake preparedness. The results showed that 1) TPPG preparedness for students was in the moderate / sufficient category, 2) preparedness was influenced by the area of origin of students and was not influenced by gender and earth knowledge, 3) students' knowledge of earthquake markers was very low.Kesiapsiagaan merupakan kompetensi utama yang harus dimiliki oleh masyarakat rawan bencana, termasuk pada mahasiswa. Kesiapsiagaan dibangun oleh pengetahuan. Penelitian terdahulu menunjukkan level kesiapsiagaan mahasiswa sangat bervariasi, namun belum terdapat penjelasan tentang hubungan pengetahuan dan faktor-faktor lain yang memengaruhi kesiapsiagaan mahasiswa. Selain itu, pengukuran kesiapsiagaan belum mengkaji komponen penanda bencana atau prekursor. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendeskripsikan faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan level kesiapsiagaan mahasiswa. Populasi penelitian  adalah mahasiwa pendidikan IPA dan penentuan sampel penelitian dilakukan secara purposive, sehingga sebanyak 104 mahasiwa pendidikan IPA yang mengambil matakuliah IPBA ditetapkan sebagai sampel. Penelitian merupakan penelitian deksriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket kesiapsiagaan TPPG dan tes pengetahuan prekursor gempabumi. Selain itu, juga digunakan data sekunder berupa nilai Ujian Tengah Semester yang merespresentasikan pengetahuan dasar kebumian yang relevan dengan kesiapsiagaan gempabumi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah Uji Korelasi Kendalls’ tau dan kuantitatif-deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) kesiapsiagaan TPPG pada mahasiswa berada pada kategori sedang/cukup, 2) kesiapsiagaan dipengaruhi oleh daerah asal mahasiswa dan tidak dipengaruhi oleh jenis kelamin dan pengetahuan kebumian, 3) pengetahuan mahasiswa tentang penanda gempabumi sangat rendah. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa daerah asal memengaruhi kesiapsiagaan TPPG mahasiswa pendidikan IPA.

Abstract

Hypnotic is a method to explore humans’ conscious mind in order to experience suggestion alteration following particular purpose. Previously, in Indonesia, hypnotic was dominantly known as one on crimes technique to rob the victims easily in short time. Then, public perception shifted after hypnotic action performed in stages to entertaintaudience. Recently, hypnotic has been applied to benefit patient, students or individual with biological and psychological pains. Unfortunately, the existence of hypnotic as a logical explanation have not been available in a comprehensible text for public understanding, although excessive empirical studies existed in multidiscipline ways. This review article propose a scientific explanation toward hypnotic and its application such medical and educational purposes, based on a scientific philosophy. To conclude, hypnotic concept developed according to Deductive-Nomologies Explanation Scientific Model and fulfill positivistic and naturalistic truth paradigm and pragmatic truth theory. Its brief scientific explanation that is hypnotic processes with support of brain structure and mechanism. Scientific terms and concepts which are been involved are cerebrum, autonomous nervous system, reticular activating system, medulla oblongata, brainstem, corpus collosum, brain wave frequencies alteration, and chemically control of serotonine and endorphin.

Abstract

Teknologi digital berkembang pesat dan sangat berpotensi untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Metode pembelajaran berbasis digital dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran flipped learning menjadi solusi bagi peserta didik agar dapat mengakses sumber belajar pada ruang dan waktu yang tidak terbatas. Model flipped learning terdiri dari tiga kegiatan yaitu pre-class, in class dan out of class. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode literature review terhadap 10 artikel dalam 6 tahun terakhir. Sumber data yaitu jurnal ilmiah dalam database Google Scholar dan situs jurnal lainnya yang relevan. Teknik analisis data dengan cara menganalisis, mendeskripsikan, dan menyimpulkan data secara deskripsi. Hasil yang didapatkan terdapat peningkatan motivasi belajar peserta didik yang disebabkan oleh faktor-faktor yang mendukung yaitu pembelajaran flipped learning dan media multimedia interaktif. Selain itu, flipped learning berpengaruh secara positif terhadap hasil belajar. Hal ini disebabkan juga oleh faktor lain yang mendukung yaitu pembelajaran flipped learning dan media pembelajaran interaktif (live worksheet, interactive notebooks, video pembelajaran).

Abstract

Untuk meningkatkan kreativitas peserta didik adalah memberikan informasi dan sumber belajar yang dapat digunakan secara mandiri oleh peserta didik dalam bentuk E-Modul. Sebuah E-Modul harus memiliki rancangan pembelajaran, dalam hal ini Project Based Learning (PjBL) telah terbukti untuk meningkatkan kreativitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui tingkat validitas dari E-modul berbasis PjBL yang telah dikembangkan. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan jenis peneltian Research and Development dengan model pengembangan ADDIE. Dalam penelitian dibatasi sampai pada tahapan pengembangan (development) sebab penelitian ini hanya untuk melihat validitas produk. Instrument yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi berupa angket penilaian oleh 2 orang dosen Biologi dan 2 orang guru SMAN 1 Payakumbuh. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan berdasarkan skala likert. Hasil validasi e-modul ini adalah memiliki rata-rata sebesar 90, 25%yang dikategorikan sebagai kategori sangat valid. Dari hasil validasi dapat dikatakan bahwa e-modul berbasis PjBL tentang materi sistem imun kelas XI SMA untuk Meningkatkan Kreativitas Peserta Didik memenuhi kategori valid.

Abstract

Bahan ajar merupakan salah satu media yang dapat membantu siswa dalam belajar. LKPD mendapat kesempatan untuk memancing peserta didik agar terlibat aktif dengan materi yang dibahas, peserta didik harus dapat menyusun pengetahuannya sendiri dalam memecahakan masalah dan mengupayakan solusinya, model pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan salah satunya adalah PBL dan bahan ajar berupa LKPD.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan sebuah bahan ajar berupa LKPD yang valid dan praktis. Jenis penelitian ini adalah jenis pengembangan atau dikenal dengan  Research and Development, dengan model pengembangan 4D. Penelitian ini dilakukan di FMIPA UNP dan SMAN 4 Sungai Penuh. Validator produk ini terdiri dari 3 validator yaitu 2 orang dosen Jurusan Biologi FMIPA UNP dan 1 orang guru mata pelajaran Biologi di SMAN 4 Sungai Penuh. Dari penelitian ini maka dihasilkan LKPD berbasis PBL pada materi sistem imunitas dalam upaya mitigasi bencana COVID-19 pada siswa SMA yang valid dengan rata-rata nilai validitas diperoleh 85,5%.

Abstract

Implementation of learning is one of the main tasks of teachers to teach students. The intended learning is the creation of conditions that allow it to occur in students. Learning will improve cognitive, affective, and psychomotor abilities, these abilities are accompanied by experience gained during the learning process that applies anywhere and anytime and can be applied in everyday life. One of the materials for class XI that is difficult for students to understand is the material on the digestive system. One way that can be done is to make it easier for students to understand the material on the digestive system by developing Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) oriented student worksheets teaching materials, with this worksheet students can relate learning materials to everyday life. Student worksheet (LKPD) development is carried out using 3 stages of 4-D model development. The stages are defined, design, and develop. The data collection instruments used were validity and response questionnaires. The student worksheets were validated by 3 validators and a response test was conducted on 25 students of class XI and one Biology teacher at SMA Negeri 2 Lembang Jaya. This research produces student worksheets with Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) orientation on the digestive system material for class XI. The results of the validity of the student worksheets obtained 91.78% with very valid criteria both in terms of the feasibility of content, language, presentation, and graphics. The results of the teacher's assessment of the practicality of the student worksheets obtained an average of 93.28% with practical criteria and an average student assessment of 86.65% with very practical criteria in terms of ease of use, efficient learning time, and benefits. It can be concluded that the student worksheets (LKPD) oriented to Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) with a valid category and the responses of teachers and students about its practicality are included in the very practical category.

Abstract

Teaching materials are an important part of supporting the learning process, one form of teaching materials is Student Worksheets (LKPD). The LKPD needed is a LKPD that contains directions for observing and teaching students, in this case, it can be provided through the 5E Learning Cycle. The research aims to produce LKPD based on Learning Cycle 5E on the human movement system for class XI high school students. The research method uses the plomp development model. Based on the research conducted, a product in the form of 5E Learning Cycle-based LKPD has been produced which is valid and practical.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to produce an E-Module on ecology and environmental change using a guided inquiry approach that is valid, practical, and effective. This type of research is development research using the Plomp model. The development phase of this model begins with the Preliminary research phase, the Development or prototyping phase, and the Assessment phase. The instruments used in this study were validity assessment sheets, practicality assessment sheets, and competency assessment sheets for knowledge, skills, attitudes, motivation, and science process skills. The results showed that the E-Module on ecology and environmental change using a guided inquiry approach based on the expert judgment was very valid with a value of 97.59%. The practicality assessment by the teacher obtained a score of 95.83% with very practical criteria and a student assessment in the field trial (large group evaluation) with a score of 90.45% with very practical criteria. The results of the effectiveness test found that the class using the E-Module on ecology and environmental change with the guided inquiry approach had higher scores than the class that did not use the E-Module, so the use of the E-Module with the guided inquiry approach supplemented with pictures, animations and videos could help students understand the material. It can be concluded that the E-Module on ecology and environmental change with the guided inquiry approach that has been developed is in the category of very valid, very practical, and very effective in improving student learning outcomes.
