Abstract

This research aims to conduct a comparative analysis between two diagnostic methods, namely Bayes' Theorem and Case Based Reasoning, in detecting Polymyalgia Rheumatica. This disease is known for its symptoms of muscle pain and stiffness in certain parts of the body, so correct diagnosis is very important for effective disease management. The problem at hand is increasing the accuracy and effectiveness of diagnosis, and this research details how both methods are applied. The Bayes Theorem method is used to calculate the probability of the existence of a disease based on the symptoms that appear. Meanwhile, Case Based Reasoning utilizes knowledge from previous cases to determine the diagnosis in new cases. Data collection involves information on Polymyalgia Rheumatica symptoms from a number of patients. The comparative analysis includes evaluation of the accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and computational time of both methods. It is hoped that the results of this research will provide a deeper understanding of the effectiveness of each method in supporting the diagnosis of Polymyalgia Rheumatica. These findings are expected to make an important contribution to the development of better diagnostic systems, with the potential to improve medical practitioners' ability to identify and manage this disease more efficiently. The results of the analysis using two approaches, namely Bayes' Theorem and Case-Based Reasoning, to assess Polymyalgia Rheumatica, revealed quite striking differences in the level of prediction certainty. Bayes' theorem sets the probability at around 22.1%, while the Case-Based Reasoning approach gives a probability level of up to 52%.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of two methods, Certainty Factor (CF) and Case-Based Reasoning (CBR), in detecting Takayasu's Arteritis. Takayasu's arteritis is a complex disease with varying symptoms, giving rise to difficulties in correct diagnosis. The main aim of this study was to evaluate their performance in the context of such complex disease detection. The main problem faced is the uncertainty in assessing the level of certainty of diagnosis based on symptoms that vary between patients. The CF method uses the confidence factor principle to measure the level of certainty in a diagnosis, while CBR uses knowledge from previous cases to design a diagnosis for new cases. This study uses a dataset that includes information on symptoms and patient history related to Takayasu's Arteritis. The experimental process involves implementing both methods on the dataset, with results including evaluation of accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity levels. The research results highlight differences in the performance of Certainty Factor and Case-Based Reasoning in detecting Takayasu's Arteritis, providing in-depth insight into the advantages and disadvantages of each method. It is hoped that this understanding can help develop a more efficient and accurate detection system to overcome the complexity of diagnosing Takayasu's Arteritis. The percentage results from the two approaches used in diagnosing Arteritis Takayasu disease have been presented. The Certainty Factor Method indicates a confidence level of 94%, while the Case Based Reasoning Method shows a similarity level of 54%. This significant difference reflects the superiority of the Certainty Factor Method in providing a higher level of confidence in diagnosing this disease compared to the Case Based Reasoning approach.

Abstract

The company recognizes the crucial role of customers in achieving business success and as the main source of revenue. Therefore, it is important for companies to understand the needs and desires of customers in order to build a mutually beneficial relationship. Customers have functional and emotional needs that they want to fulfill through the products or services they buy. Customer experience, both positive and negative, has a significant impact on satisfaction, loyalty and corporate image. This research faces the challenge of decreasing the number of customers who make purchases at these companies or service providers. To overcome this problem, companies need to adopt an effective market strategy to improve operational efficiency and better understand customer needs. One approach used is to understand customer needs through grouping, so that companies can develop products or services that are more suitable for each customer group. This helps improve the product's relationship with customer needs and provides services that match their expectations. Customer grouping was performed using the K-means algorithm, with 47 customers grouped based on relevant attributes. Determining the optimal number of clusters is done by comparing the performance of the clusters that are formed, and the results produce two new clusters with different numbers of customers. The K-means algorithm is implemented using the RapidMiner application to simplify the process. The final analysis shows that the second cluster has more customers than the first cluster. This research confirms the importance of understanding customer needs, classifying them appropriately, and taking effective actions to maintain customer satisfaction. The K-means algorithm and the RapidMiner application prove to be very useful in this process, enabling companies to strengthen customer relationships and create significant added value. The final results of this study indicate that the first cluster (cluster 0) contains 22 customers, while the second cluster (cluster 2) contains 25 customers. Therefore, the second cluster has a larger number of customers compared to the first cluster.
