Abstract

Slender walking catfish (Clarias nieuhofii) is a consumption fish that has a fairly high economical value. Local market prices can reach IRD 50.000-70.000/kg. People love this fish because of the delicious taste of the meat, which very different from the aquaculture catfish. Until now the production relies only on natural catches and there have been no cultivation efforts. But in recent years these out catfish are increasingly difficult to find in nature. The conversion of land into plantation areas caused the loss of the fish's original habitat. Based on community information, the habitat of this fish is found in Pasir Putih Village, Silangkitang District, Labuhan Batu Selatan Regency, and Bandar Tinggi Village, Bilah Hulu District, Labuhanbatu Regency, Indonesia. Differences in habitat conditions are known to affect fish growth patterns, including C. nieuhofii. This research aims to determine the pattern of the growth of the slender walking catfish in these different habitat conditions. Exploratory methods were used in this research and observation stations were determined through purposive sampling. Fish sampling was done using a fishing rod. The samples of fish captured were measured by the total length and weight. The results of the research show that the pattern of fish growth in Pasir Putih Village is negative allometric (W = 0.6944, b = 0.2463 and R2 = 0.9468) and in Bandar Tinggi Village shows negative allometric (W = 10.207, b = - 129.56, and R2 = 0.9711).

Abstract

Abstract

Swamp flooded is a habitat of various types of fish, which as an feeding ground, shelter, and reproduction. Diversity of fish types has been utilized by the people to catch fish, as a material of consumption and economic income. One of the flooded swamp that people have utilized in the Barumun River area. The purpose of this research is to know the biodiversity of fish in the swamp flooded Barumun River.  This research is explorative, with the determination of observation stations with purposive sampling methods. Fish are captured using hand cast fishing nets, fishing rods, and gill nets. Fish are identified using relevant books. Total fishing catches during the study amounted to 298 individuals consisting of 13 genera and 17 speisies. The average value of the Keanakaragaman index is 1,85 with a low cathedral. The average value of uniformity index (E ') is 0,67 in medium category. The average value of the Dominancy index (C) is 0,027 in low category. Based on the results of the study concluded the waters of Rawa Sungai Barumun has suffered disruption due to land function and pollution. This is evidenced by the Oil Palm Factory PT. Nubika Jaya and palm plantations area.

Abstract

Slender walking catfish (Clarias leiacanthus) has decreased in its natural habitat. Many factors affect the decline of the population, including the conversion of land where natural habitat becomes plantation, the presence of excess arrest, and the quality of water that has been contaminated. The condition of the waters determines fish life, considering that various species of fish can only live on certain conditions. A study related to the correlation of water quality with fish abundance index is needed as a knowledge of determining biological and ecological needs of fish as a biological resource in a water.. The results of this study showed the abundance index of wild-type catfish at January (0.15 Ind./m2), February (0.22 Ind./m2),  and March (0.20 Ind./m2). The correlation analysis of water quality showed pH has a correlation (+) with a value of r (0.827).

Hasil analisis data untuk pola pertumbuhan ikan belanak bersifat alometrik negatif dengan nilai b pada spesiesC. subviridis (0,145), M. perusi (0,108), dan L. alata (0,185).Abstract: Barumun River has a considerable potential of fish resources, one of which is the mullet fish that belongs to the mugilidae family. So far, there has been no research that examines aspects of the growth patterns of mullet in this region. The purpose of this research is to find out the growth pattern of mullet found in Barumun River. This research is exploratory, where the research station is determined based on information from fishermen who often catch mullet. Fish sampling was conducted for 3 months (November 2020, December 2020, and January 2021). Samples of fish are caught using gillnets. The catch after being identified found 3 species namely: Chelon subviridis, Moolgarda perusi and Liza alata. The results of data analysis for the growth pattern of mullets are alometric negative with a value of b in species C. subviridis (0.145), M. perusi (0.108), and L. alata (0.185).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the biological aspects of blacktip sea catfish (Piicofillis dussumieri) in the Barumun River. Fish samples were taken for three months (September 2020-January 2121). The research station was determined by purposive sampling. The fish were caught using 3 gill nets with 1.5 inch mesh. The number of fish caught is counted and then the total length and weight are measured. The data were interpreted in graphical form using the Microsoft Excel 2010 application. The results showed that the growth pattern of blacktip sea catfish was negative allometric with a value of y = 26.3531e0.0796 and R2 = 0.9718. The sex ratio for male and female fish is 3:1. The population density is between 1.20 - 1.6 /100 m2. In conclusion, the growth pattern of P. dusumeiri was negative allometric. The sex ratio (sex ratio) between males and females is not balanced. The condition of blacktip sea catfish population in the Barumun River began to be disturbed. Keywords: Biological Aspects, Piicofillis dussumieri, Barumun River

Abstract

This study aims to determine the density correlation of three species of mullet with the water’s physical and chemical parameters in the Barumun River. This explorative type of research using the purposive sampling method. Fish are caught using a gill net with a mesh size of 1 inch. Analysis of the research data was carried out using the SPSS version 22 application program. The results showed that there were three types of mullet fish caught in the Barumun River, namely Chelon subveridis, Moolgarda perusii and Liza alata. The bivariate correlation test analysis results showed that water transparency and pH showed a positive correlation (+), while temperature, current and salinity had a negative correlation (-). The highest positive correlation value is found in water transparency. In conclusion, the higher the water transparency value, the higher the density of the mullet fish. Abstract

This study aims to determine the biological aspects of twill fish in the swamp waters of PTPN Ajamu III. The method used is exploratory and the determination of the sampling point is done by purposive sampling. Fish samples were caught using fishing rods. All fish caught were measured for total length and weight. The results showed that for the small size class interval (9-11.9 cm) 11 males and 14 females were obtained; medium size class (12-14.9 cm) for 5 individual male fish and 19 individual female fish; and the large size class (15-17.9 cm) found only females with a total of 2 individuals. The relationship between length and weight of twill is negative allometric because of the value of the constant b > 3. The sex ratio of fish for males and females obtained is 1: 2. In conclusion, the population of twill fish is categorized as still maintained. Keywords: Biological Aspect, Belontia hasselti, Swamp Waters
