Abstract

A clam angelwing is one kind of razor clam. His life Habitat is found in the Kelang Beach district of Serdang Bedagai, North Sumatera Province. The purpose of this research is to know the characteristics of tembarang shell nests. This research is an exploratory, discrete study. The findings Data are narrated and discussed based on the relevant literature review. Based on the findings in the field, the characteristics of the nest angelwing clam are listed as follows: Distance from the shoreline between 30-70 meters, The diameter of the nest length is 0.5-1.5 cm and the width is 0.3-1 cm, the holes are round and round oval, usually holes consist of 1-5 pieces. Hole depth 10-40 cm, on the surface of the hole there are shavings or piles of sand, and 1 hole filled 1 individual. Average water quality observation during research: water temperature (29-30 °C), Water brightness (25-40 cm), water pH (7,5-7,9), dissolved oxygen (5,6-5,9 ppm), and salinity (29-30 ppt).

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to obtain information related to the biological and ecological aspects of the Oxygaster anomalura in the Mailil River, Bandar Kumbul Village. The method used in this research is exploratory. Sampling was done using a fishing rod. The growth pattern was calculated using the length-weight relationship using the Linear Allometric Model (LAM), while the condition factor used the Fulton formula (K) and relative weight (Wr). The results showed that as many as 30 samples of Sulum Fish (Oxygaster anomalura) were caught during the study. Analysis of the length-weight relationship showed a negative allometric relationship with a value of b=1.94 (b>3). The Fulton condition factor (K) value is 1,195, while the value of the relative condition factor (Wr) is 169.42. In conclusion, the Mailil River as an ecosystem and habitat for O. anomalura fish is balanced. Keywords: Condition Factor, Oxygaster anomalura, Mailil River

Abstract

This study aims to determine the condition factors and the relationship between the length and weight of thorn fish in the waters of the Barumun River, Labuhanbatu, North Sumatra. The method used is the sampling method. The results showed that the total number of samples obtained during the study was 41 fish with a total length of thorn fish that was 20.8 cm - 25.1 cm and the average length of fish caught was 23.41 cm. Meanwhile, the weight of thorn fish is 72 g to 126 g, and the average fish weight is 106.2 g. In conclusion, the growth pattern of thorn fish in the Barumun Labuhanbatu River, North Sumatra, is a negative allometric. The condition factors in thorn fish indicate that the Barumun River environment supports the growth of thorn fish and has a balanced status. Abstract

The seagrass ecosystem of Poncan Gadang island is one of the ecosystems that often come under pressure due to ecotourism activities. Pressure on these ecosystems can have an impact on the diversity of the types of animals that live in them. This research is aimed at knowing the condition of seagrass ecosystems based on the diversity of macrozoobenthos that live in them. The observation point is divided into 5 stations. At each point, a square transect of 1x1 meters is made as many as 10 pieces. Collection of macrozoobenthos samples is carried out by the hand sorting method. The samples collected were then identified at the Ecology Laboratory of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Labuhanbatu. Data analysis uses the shannon wienner index (H'), Dominance Index (C') and Similarity Index (IS) formulas. Data analysis was done by computer program Plymouth Routines In Multivariate Ecological Research (Primer) 7th version. The results showed that there were 30 species of macrozobenthos living in the seagrass ecosystem of Poncan Gadang island, with a diversity index (H') of 3.031-3.191, a dominance index (C') of 0.0038 - 0.0053, then a similarity index (IS) of 86.792 – 98.305%. This result indicates the condition of the seagrass beds ecosystem of Poncan Gadang Island is in good condition, with a moderate level of uniformity, low dominance and high similarity
