Abstract

This study aims is to provide construct validity information about the psychometric properties of the Nijmeegse Schoolbekwaamheids Test (NST). NST is one of the instruments that is widely used to measure school readiness. The NST has 10 subtests in the form of pictures and stories that were adapted from the Netherlands. This study involved 471 pre-school students aged 4-6 years. This study used IRT to determine the quality of each item, Exploratory Factor Analysis to determine the new factors formed from the 10 available subtests, and Confirmatory Factor Analysis to determine to construct validity. The IRT 3PL model showed that all items in the NST are valid, but it is necessary to review several items, especially in subtest 10. In the EFA factor analysis, 4 new factors were found that measure the level of factor: logic reasoning ability, memory, fine motor skill, and conceptual maturity in children. These are valid and reliable as evidenced by the RMSEA value on the CFA of 0.05 and the reliability value of 0.87.

Abstract

This study aimed to test the quality of item analysis in the Indonesian IST 2000R using the Item Response Theory (IRT) method and participants comprising 1780 students aged 16-20. IRT 3PL analysis and DIF examination showed that the Indonesian IST 2000R had good item quality, with an improvement in IST 70. The discriminatory power parameter (ɑ) of the verbal category items was high. Furthermore, the difficulty level parameter (b) indicated that more than 50% of the items on the IST 2000R are in the average category. In the guessing probability parameter (c), 8 of 9 subtests showed that more than 50% of the items are in a low category. Overall, the Indonesian IST 2000R has a small gender bias because all subtests obtained more than 60% in category A.

Abstract

Goodenough-Harris Drawing Test (GHDT) merupakan salah satu tes yang digunakan untuk mengukur kecerdasan anak melalui kematangannya yang dilihat dari hasil gambar. Sebagai sebuah tes yang hanya menggunakan kertas dan pensil, GHDT dianggap sebagai tes kecerdasan yang efisien dan tidak berbiaya mahal. Sementara itu anak-anak yang memiliki kemampuan menggambar dengan baik, biasanya mampu menghasilkan gambar orang dengan detail yang lebih lengkap. Oleh sebab itu, menjadi pertanyaan apakah kemampuan menggambar yang dihasilkan dari kemampuan persepsi visual yang tinggi berkorelasi dengan skor GHDT yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah skor tes GHDT berkorelasi secara signifikan dengan skor tes Frostig yang merupakan ukuran kemampuan persepsi visual motorik anak. Partisipan penelitian adalah 200 anak berusia 6-9 tahun (L=97, P=103) yang berasal dari SD di empat kota besar Indonesia yaitu Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta dan Semarang. Dengan menggunakan analisis korelasi Spearman, didapatkan korelasi yang signifikan namun berada dalam kategori lemah antara skor GHDT dengan skor Frostig anak, yaitu sebesar .398. Skor GHDT memiliki korelasi paling tinggi dengan subtes 1 Frostig yang mengukur eye-motor coordination dengan indeks korelasi sebesar .62 (korelasi kuat). Artinya, kemampuan persepsi visual anak memang berkorelasi dengan skor GHDT, namun GHDT sendiri tidak semata-mata hanya mengukur kemampuan persepsi visual anak.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a social desirability scale in Indonesian. The method used is mixed method. Participant in the exploration stage amounted to 400 subjects. Whereas, in the second stage, which purposed to identify a psychometric properties (reliability and validity), participant amounted to 501 subjects. Data analysis in the first stage was open coding. For the second stage data analysis consisted of reliability estimation using Cronbach’s Alpha and test of construct validity using factorial validity with Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and convergent validity. The Result shows that the scale has a high reliability coefficient 0.76 alfa cronbach. Whereas, the test of model fit with CFA shows that the scale fits with the data with index of fit value of Comparative Fit Index (CFI) is 0.92, Goodness of Fit Index (GFI) is 0.93, Root Mean Square of Approximation (RMSEA) is 0.059, and Standardized Root Mean Residual (SRMR) is 0.052.  A convergent validity also tested by correlating social desirability Indonesian scale with social desirability scale by Reynolds (1982).
