Abstract

This study aims to describe (1) compliance with the principle of politeness in language, and (2) violation of the principle of politeness in language in the serialized story Mikul Dhuwur Mendhem Jero by Tiyasti. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The data source of this research is the serialized story of Mikul Dhuwur Mendhem Jero by Tiyasti. The data of this research are quotations that contain compliance with the principles of politeness in language and violations of the principles of politeness in the serialized story of Mikul Dhuwur Mendhem Jero by Tiyasti. Data collection techniques using library techniques and see notes. The research instrument is the researcher himself as the main instrument. Data analysis using content analysis techniques. The results of the study: The forms of compliance with the principles of politeness in language include: (a) 15 maxims of wisdom; (b) 4 maxims of generosity; (c) 11 maxims of praise; (d) 10 humility maxims; (e) 11 agreement maxims; and (f) 6 sympathy maxims. Forms of violation of language politeness include: (a) 2 maxims of wisdom; (b) 3 maxims of praise; (c) 1 humility maxim; (d) 3 maxims of agreement. In the serialized story Mikul Dhuwur Mendhem Jero by Tiyasti, there is no violation of the maxim of generosity and maxim of sympathy.

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of creating humor is to entertain listener/reader. Listener/ reader which is touched his/her feeling will smile and laugh. One of discourses which contain humor is found in Djaka Lodang magazine in Semarangan rubric. This Semarangan rubric is realized in discourse which describe the people’s daily life. This daily life is the activity which is described in narrative and in picture story. Data sources of this research is discourse of Semarangan rubric found in Djaka Lodang number 15,14,11,10 dan 9 in 2015. Data analized is picture illustration found in coloum of Semarangan rubric. The data analized technique used is content analysis. Based on the result of analysis, The humor writers use many aspect of language as a resource of creativity in which one of the creativities is language deviation which means the deviation from something expected. This deviation aims to create something funny so that the readers can be entertained. Meanwhile the aims of speech in Semarangan rubric are giving order, asking, giving information, and quipping.   Key words: humor, Djaka Lodang

Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) characters and characterizations; and (2) moral values ​​in fable stories. This study is a qualitative descriptive study. The source of data in this study is a story entitled "Piwulang kanggo Cempe," "Anak Gajahlan Semut Ireng," and "Kancil kang Cerdik" contained in Djaka Lodang magazine. The research data collection techniques used were library techniques and note-taking techniques. The instrument used is the research itself. The data analysis technique uses qualitative analysis methods. The results showed: (1) the characters in the fable of "Piwulang Kanggo Cempe" are Babon Domba dan Anak Domba or Cempe, in the fable story “Anak Gajah Lan Semut Ireng” are Anak Gajah and Semut Ireng, and in the fable story "Kancil Kang Cerdik" is Kancil, Manuk Blekok, and Manuk Bangau. The characterizations are shown analytically and dramatically. Furthermore, the moral values ​​contained in the three fables are about obedience to parents, helping others, respecting others, being honest, and establishing friendships.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan unsur-unsur instrinsik dan  mendeskripsikan konflik psikis tokoh dalam cerbung Mikul Dhuwur Mendhem Jero karya Tiyasti. Sejauh pengamatan penulis, cerbung Mikul Dhuwur Mendhem Jero karya Tiyasti belum diteliti dari sisi psikoanalisis Freud. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan. Urgensi penelitian ini yaitu sebagai usaha untuk mengungkap unsur kepribadian tokoh di dalam cerbung Mikul Dhuwur mendhem Jero karya Tiyasti. Dengan mengetahui aspek psikologi tokoh di dalam cerbung Mikul Dhuwur Mendhem Jero dapat memberikan pengajaran mengenai perilaku yang baik maupun yang kurang baik. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian yaitu cerbung Mikul Dhuwur Mendhem Jero edisi 07 Januari-01 April Tahun 2017. Data penelitian ini berupa kutipan-kutipan teks yang mengandung unsur instrinsik dan kajian psikologi pada cerbung Mikul Dhuwur Mendhem Jero. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik simak catat dan teknik pustaka. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis isi. Hasil penelitian diperoleh: (1) unsur instrinsik meliputi (a) tema: Membahagiakan orang tua dengan cara sekolah yang sungguh-sungguh dan bekerja; (b) tokoh dan penokohan terdiri dari tokoh utama: Ambarini dan Pratiwi, tokoh tambahan: Wahyuningrum, Dhokter Warsita, Bu Warsana, Setyarini; (c) alur yang digunakan adalah alur maju; (d) latar terdiri dari latar tempat, latar waktu, dan latar sosial; (2) psikologi konflik psikis tokoh dalam cerbung Mikul Dhuwur Mendhem Jero karya Tiyasti mengungkapkan tentang dinamika dan proses kejiwaan tokoh-tokoh yang dipengaruhi oleh faktor lingkungan sosial kehidupan seseorang yang berlatar belakang masyarakat kota.
