Abstract

This paper is an output of Penelitian Dosen Muda PDP entitled Pandangan Dunia Elizabeth Goudge dalam Novel Little White Horse. This research used genetic structuralism point of view where the postmodernism is involved to be the worldview of this novel, since genetic structuralism requires a philosophical point of view to be the companion of its concept. In this case, postmodernism appears to be the worldview of this novel. Since fantasy literature always be treated as merely the popular culture product, then the study about them never involve the spirituality and the philosophical thinking. By applying genetic structuralism point of view in this research, the writer could broaden the scope of study about fantasy work. The kind of data is a qualitative descriptive. The data is collected by reading the novel comprehensively to find the data where the theory is required. The analysis is done by using the whole and the part method from genetic structuralism. The result of this research showed that Little White Horse novel is postmodernism in term of form and ideology. The form of Little White Horse is a collaboration between the contentism and the Coterie fiction and it took Whiteheadian postmodernism as its worldview. Whiteheadian postmodernism concept consists of the immanence of God and the interspecies relationship. This ideology is a result of the destructuring and restructuring of the trans-individual subject integrated in Romantic Novel Association (RNA) where Goudge is involved in opposing the secular and the destructive of modern point of view. Key words: wordview, genetic structuralism, transindividual subject, postmodernism

Abstract

The introduction of Islam in the Sultanate of Buton has brought about changes in the social, political, and even intellectual aspects of the sultanate. This is observable in the thought of local scholars who try to blend Islam and local culture. One of these figures is Sultan Muhammad Idrus Kaimuddin (1824-1851). The thought of Sultan Muhammad Idrus Kaimuddin finds the essence of its concept of manners or etiquette in the teachings of the ancestors in Bula Kabanti Malino and several works of Sultan Muhammad Idrus Kaimuddin. The guidance of the public and court authorities in the Sultanate of Buton was basically and mostly coming from the teachings of Islam. Thinking in terms of ethics, morals, manners, the advice of Sultan Kaimuddin has deep horizons of knowledge and thought. The magnitude of the influence of Islam in the thought of Muhammad Idrus Kaimuddin evidently works, which proves that the process of acculturation between Islam and Butonese culture runs well. The acculturation between Islam and Butonese culture was essentially a formation process of Butonese civilization centered in the palace and passed on to Buton society in general, through the process of cultural dialogue between Buton (Wolio) and Islam.

Abstract

The study evaluated the impact of learning media on student outcomes at Red Nose Foundation's circus classes in North Jakarta. It highlighted the importance of innovative and interactive media, especially in non-formal arts education, to improve understanding, skills, and motivation in mastering circus techniques. This research utilized a quantitative approach with simple regression analysis, selecting a purposive sample of 54 circus students from a total population of 119. Data was gathered using a closed questionnaire that had been validated and tested for reliability. The analysis indicated a significant positive impact of learning media on student learning outcomes. The coefficient of pearson corelation (R) was 0.974, indicating that 97,4% of the variance in student outcomes can be explained by the learning media used, with other factors influencing the remainder. In conclusion, learning media is crucial for enhancing learning outcomes in circus classes. Red Nose Foundation should continue developing relevant and tailored learning media that align with circus material and student needs. Additionally, instructors should receive training to use these media innovatively and effectively, ultimately improving learning efficiency and helping students achieve optimal results.
