Abstract

The objective of this research is to find the effect of composition variations on the agricultural wastes biocoal briquette. The research is started with heating value analysis and water and ash analysis of agricultural wastes and coal. Then the next step are sizing and mixing that wastes and coal, the research variables are composition of biocoal briquette, the manufactured alternative fuel then take to the furnace to find the combustion characteristic. The result of this research give the best composition i.e 60 % agricultural waste-40 % coal with particle size 20 mesh which bonded with 15 % cassava starch and drying in 110 0C for 90 minutes, which give the best combustion characteristic in the 0 m/s airflow condition.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to describe fine motor skills in mentally retarded children. This study involved 20 mentally retarded children in special schools (SLB) in North Lombok. Identification was carried out using several data collection techniques, namely through observation, filling out instruments and interviewing the teacher. Identification of mentally disabled children focuses on several fine motor skills, namely: making curved lines, making horizontal lines, making circle patterns, cutting straight line pattern paper, cutting zigzag pattern paper, cutting circle pattern paper, cutting square pattern paper, simple drawing, coloring using colored pencils, coloring using crayons, and coloring using watercolors. The results of the study used descriptive analysis with two categorizations. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that out of 20 mentally retarded children can be categorized as follows: on average 68% of children are in the Start Development category (MB), which means that children are starting to be able to do activities, but still with the help of teachers and 32% of children fall into the Developing Appropriate category Hope (BSH). Thus, through this identification it can improve fine motor skills in mentally retarded children by using other interesting methods or strategies. Keywords: skill, finemotor, intelectual disability

Abstract

Pemanfaatan energi air salah satunya yaitu dengan membuat pembangkit listrik tenaga air pikohidro. Sebagai salah satu usaha alternatif, pikohidro merupakan pembangkit listrik tenaga air dengan output listrik maksimum sebesar lima kilowatt (5 kW). Turbin air ulir Archimedes merupakan turbin yang mampu menghasilkan listrik dengan head rendah di bawah 10 m. Pada awalnya Archimedes Screw merupakan sebuah pompa yang sudah diterapkan sebagai teknologi sejak zaman kuno, di mana kontruksinya terdiri dari beberapa sudu berbentuk heliks yang terpasang pada poros dan berfungsi sebagai bucket bergerak membawa air ke atas. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan unjuk kerja paling maksimum dengan head sebesar 1 m. Variasi sudut kemiringan poros turbin yang diuji adalah 20°, 30°, 40°, dan 50°. Dengan variasi debit aliran air 2,3 L/s; 5,0 L/s; 6,0 L/s; 10,2 L/s; 10,9 L/s. Hasil turbin yang maksimum terjadi pada sudut kemiringan poros 50° mendapatkan daya mekanik 28,9 Watt dan daya listrik maksimum 8,1 Watt.

Abstract

Renewable energy is one of the government's efforts to increase the source of the national electricity supply and reduce fossil energy sources. Indonesia has the potential to develop renewable energy in the fields of ocean waves, sunlight, water, and geothermal. But of all these, the most promising to become renewable energy development opportunities are water energy, geothermal energy and ocean wave energy. Indonesia as an archipelagic country with an area of ​​1,904,556 km2 which consists of; 17,508 islands, 5.8 million km2 of ocean and 81,290 million km of beach length, the potential for marine energy, especially ocean waves, is very potential to be empowered as new and renewable alternative primary energy, especially for power generation. This ocean wave power plant has been widely developed, including: buoy type technology, overtopping devices technology, oscillating water column technology. Oscillating Water Column (OWC) is an alternative technology to convert ocean wave energy using an oscillating water column system. The ocean wave conversion technology of the OWC system was chosen because it is suitable in areas with steep coastal topography and has a wave height value between 0.2 m to 1.19 m and even exceeds so that the electricity generated is greater. OWC technology which will be developed for the territory of Indonesia has several opportunities and challenges. Opportunities and challenges that will be faced include the potential for waves, the application of OWC to waterways in Indonesia, OWC systems, and technology investment for the prospect of long-term energy development in Indonesia.

Abstract

Municipal Solid Wastes (MSW) has great potential as a clean, renewable feedstock for producing modern energy carriers through thermochemical, called pyrolyis, and densification processes to form a Refused Derived Fuels (RDF), i.e MSW char briquette. In this article, thermogravimetry analysis has done to analyzed combustion characteristic of MSW briquette dan MSW char briquette. The sample in this research is 70 % wt MSW organic component 30 % wt MSW non organic component. . The 20 gram sample is placed in the furnace whose temperature is increased 10 0C/min and until sample temperature reaches 400 0C and held for 30 minutes before the sample is cooled into room temperature. 100 ml/min nitrogen is introduced from the bottom of furnace as a swept gas.. The formed char is densified and then characterized in a self manufactured macro balance, adopted from Swithenbank et al.. The 3 gram sample is placed in the furnace whose temperature is increased wih the selected heating rate until sample mass nearly constant.The results of the research showed that the effect of pyrolysis give the increase of sample heating value and give the lower ignition temperature of char briquette combustion.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of angle of blade on the horizontal flow to the performance of the propeller water turbine. The experiments were performed using several test parameters including the angle of blade on the variation mass flow rate of water. With potential head 2 meters and variated turbine blade angle to achieved optimal power generated.  The result showed that the variation of angle of blade with 300 angles and 11.6 l/s mass flow rate of water was the best variation to improve the performance of the propeller water turbine. The best variation can generated 32 Watt of electric power.

Abstract

Sholat merupakan ibadah wajib bagi setiap umat muslim dan dilaksanakan sesuai dengan ketentuan yang telah ditetapkan. Kewajiban mendirikan sholat juga berlaku untuk siswa berkebutuhan khusus, termasuk siswa tunagrahita. Siswa tunagrahita adalah siswa yang memiliki tingkat intelegensi dibawah rata-rata (<70), sehingga dalam proses pembelajarannya mereka membutuhkan pendekatan khusus agar materi yang dipelajari bisa dipahami dengan optimal. Mengajarkan materi sholat kepada siswa tunagrahita tidak sama seperti mengajarkan siswa normal lainnya. Materi hendaknya disajikan dengan lebih sederhana dan bisa disampaikan melalui bantuan media pembelajaran seperti multimedia interaktif, namun saat ini hal tersebut belum direaliasikan dikarenakan ketidaktersediaannya media tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan multimedia interaktif materi gerakan dan bacaan sholat bagi tunagrahita dan menguji tingkat validitas produk melalui uji validasi produk, tingkat keterbacaan melalui uji coba terbatas dan tingkat kelayakan melalui uji coba luas. Penelitian dilakukan di SLB Negeri Sukoharjo dan SLB YSD Polokarto. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan beberapa tahapan penelitian. Responden pada penelitian adalah ahli media, ahli materi, ahli PLB, guru agama Islam dan siswa tunagrahita. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada tahap validasi produk, multimedia interaktif yang dikembangkan mendapat nilai 91.5% dikategorikan sangat baik, pada tahap uji coba produk terbatas mendapat nilai 97.5% dikategorikan sangat baik, dan pada tahap uji coba produk luas para siswa memberi nilai 100% dikategorikan sangat baik sedangkan guru memberi nilai 94.12% dikategorikan sangat baik. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa multimedia interaktif berbasis macromedia flash materi gerakan dan bacaan sholat untuk siswa tunagrahita termasuk pada kategori sangat baik dan layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran materi sholat bagi siswa tunagrahita.

Abstract

This research aims to identify condition of inclusive school in Solo especially for handicapped children. This is a qualitative research. Focuses of this research are first, the accessibility of inclusive school and second, identifying ideal inclusive school for handicapped children. it is located in two schools namely at Al Firdaus High School of Sukoharjo and Brumantakan Elementary School Solo. Method to collect data is observation, interview, and documentation. Conclusion drawn from this research is accessibility of inclusive school for handicapped children is not fulfilled completely. There is still barrier in completing condition of good and proper accessibility in inclusive school.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui rendemen tar yang dihasilkan dalam pirolisis sampah kota terseleksi 70 %/30 % organik/anorganik. Penelitian diawali dengan pengumpulan dan penyiapan bahan baku. Bahan baku yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah sampah kota terseleksi yang terdiri dari styrofoam, komponen berbahan dasar biomass (daun pisang), komponen berbahan dasar biomass (bambu), dan pembungkus makanan ringan, dimana jenis sampah yang digunakan adalah sampah yang belum terolah secara maksimal di TPA Putri Cempo Surakarta. Bahan baku tersebut kemudian dikeringkan sehingga memiliki kadar air maksimal 10 % dan dihaluskan hingga lolos ukuran 20 mesh. Pencampuran bahan baku dengan variasi persentase berat sampah organik dan sampah anorganik, 70 % sampah organik : 30 % sampah anorganik seberat 200 gram. Tahap selanjutnya adalah proses pirolisis yang dilakukan dalam sebuah fixed bed pyrolyser dengan temperatur akhir yang digunakan adalah 550 0C, 650 0C dan 750 0C . Untuk swept gas digunakan nitrogen dengan laju aliran sebesar 100 ml/menit. Adapun variasi heating yang digunakan 15 0C/menit, 25 0C/menit, 35 0C/menit, dan 45 0C/menit. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pada perlakuan heating rate 25 0C/menit perlakuan suhu mempengaruhi jumlah rendemen tar. Akan tetapi, hasil analisis pada heating rate 15 0C/menit, 35 0C/menit, dan 45 0C/menit menunjukkan bahwa interaksi perlakuan suhu dan heating rate tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap rendemen tar yang dihasilkan, dikarenakan terjadinya secondary cracking. Pembentukan fraksi cair maksimum pada sekitar 500 °C dan menunjukkan bahwa pembentukan gas lebih menonjol dari titik ini karena fraksi cair akan retak pada suhu di atas 500 ° C. Pirolisis pada suhu yang terlalu tinggi dan waktu yang terlalu lama akan menyebabkan pembentukan asap cair berkurang karena suhu dalam air pendingin semakin meningkat sehingga asap yang dihasilkan tidak terkondensasi secara sempurna.
