Abstract

Masa anak usia dini adalah masa keemasan dimana semua aspek dapat berkembang secara maksimal dan optimal. Hal ini tergantung bagaimana lingkungan dapat menjadi media untuk membantu tumbuh kembangnya anak. Lingkungan yang baik akan membentuk anak menjadi baik sementara lingkungan tidak baik akan membuat anak menjadi tidak baik. Bagi seorang guru yang kreatif, imajinatif dan atraktif, penyediaan lingkungan yang baik dapat memaksimalkan dan mempergunakan benda-benda sekitar seperti kardus, kertas, alat-alat tulis, alat-alat dapur untuk dapat sebagai dijadikan alat bantu di dalam menciptakan lingkungan yang diinginkan. Berkisah pada anak merupakan kegiatan yang sangat positif dikarenakan dalam kegiatan berkisah, seorang guru dapat menciptakan lingkungan dan suasana yang diinginkan serta dapat memasukkan nilai-nilai kebaikan dan motivasi serta stimulasi untuk pertumbuh kembangan anak. Dibutuhkan guru yang kreatif, imajinatif dan atraktif untuk membuat kegiatan bercerita menjadi kegiatan yang menarik khususnya bagi anak usia dini. Abstract

Learning English syntax is taken as a boring subject for the majority of students since the activities frequently monotonous and the classroom setting becomes quiet and too formal. The study is intended to discover the use of games in the learning of English syntax. It is conducted to find out whether the games provided by students themselves (autonomously) are able to make a joyful learning activities and able to increase their involvement in the learning process. The study makes use descriptive research which is classified into a case study. The data are collected through classroom observation, questionnaire to gain students’ response toward the classroom learning activities. The research subjects are the students of 5th semester at English department IAIN Madura who join in English syntax class. The researcher focuses on D class, with 33 students, where the time schedule for the learning is at 13.00 in the afternoon. From the data result, it is found that the use of games, which are prepared by the students autonomously, is able to make the class more joyful and able to increase their active involvement in the learning activities. Making this study distinctive from other studies is the games are provided by the students themselves instead of being provided by the lecturer. So, learning autonomy is really there. The lecturer only gives them a clear rule that is the learning activities should be made joyful by using any games related to the topic being discussed.

Abstract

Teaching English to young learners, especially for kindergarten students, is focused on teaching vocabulary because they are still introduced to new language in which it has not ever been learned before. The use of songs in teaching vocabulary for young learners is an effective way to teach English. This study is descriptive qualitative research because (1) It is concerned with context and meaning, (2) the researcher works in natural setting, (3) the researcher is the key instrument in collecting data, (4) the data are presented descriptively, and (5) the data are analyzed inductively. The subjects are kindergarten students and the English teacher. In this study, the instruments used are observation checklist, field note, and interview guide for the four teachers. From the findings, it can be concluded the characteristics of the songs used in teaching vocabulary were the lyrics of the songs were simple and not too long, there was the repetition of the words while singing the songs, the vocabulary used in the lyrics was presented in the meaningful context, the lyrics were based on the theme in the school curriculum, and the rhythm of the songs was fun, The teachers also considered the criteria of the appropriate songs for their students while they were selecting the songs.

Abstract

Building nation character should be always done specially by the teacher in the school bacause nation character is one of fundamental elements in preventing this nation from the attack of foreign or western cultures which are not suitable with our cultures. This study aimed at decribing how the character values inserted in teaching grammar using jigsaw and what values were inserted. The study used descriptive qualitative field research. The data obtained through observation, and interview. After analyzing the data, it was found that character values were inserted through jigsaw activity. The character values found were tolerance, democratic, curiousity, communicative, responsible. This reseach is expected to contribute to build nation character through teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Olah Bakat Siswa Aktif (OBASTIF)—a talent sport event for Madrasah Tsanawiyah level held at MA Miftahul Qulub Polagan Galis Pamekasan as a promotion strategy which in its implementation goes through stages namely planning, implementation and evaluation. The study focuses on (1) How is the planning of OBASTIF (2) How is the implementation of OBASTIF (3) How is the result of promotion through OBASTIF. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. The data were obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation. The informant are school principal, teachers, and students of Miftahul Qulub Polagan. The research results show that: First. The planning for the OBASTIF covers: a). determining the purpose of the event, b). defining the forms of the event. c). Arranging the event details, d). forming a work team by involving OSIS (Student Council), e). preparing a budget. Second, the implementation process covers distributing brochures and giving delegation letters which are carried out a week before registration opens which are distributed by OSIS members; registration of the event is at MA Miftahul Qulub Polagan; technical meetings; competitions or events ; closing and giving award. Third, the results obtained by the institution are in accordance with what is expected namely MA Miftahul Qulub Polagan became famous to all schools of promotion target, as the institution which concerns on facilitating students in developing their talents.
