Abstract

Abstract High rainfall may disrupt mining operations due to possibility of wet mud slides, occurences. One of the area wet mud slide in the mining area of "DOZ" Panel 7 West PT Freeport Indonesia, Mimika District, Papua Province. Study was needed to image the subsurface where have high probability of wet mud slide might happen. Resistivity method was used using Wenner Alpha configuration with a total length of 270 m. The measurements were performea six times at different dates. Measured data use as the primary data to determine the high possibility areas of mud wet slides. And the primary data were compared with secondary data such as rainfall and geological data. Analysis the resistivity cross-sections show that the low resistivity zones are located in Panel 7 DP # 14E, 16E, 18E, 19E, 20E and 21E. Water enter the DOZ Mine (Deep Ore Zone) by infiltration and precipitation directly through the cave material, permeable zones along the contact zone of diorite/skarn/marble, and the spillover cut crackline or caveline of formation Lower Kais. The correlation between the quantitative data of the apparent resistivity with rainfall data has the highest value of 3.52 %. Keywords: Resistivity, wet muck, panel

Abstract

Research has been conducted which aims to increase understanding of the concept of material Electric Magnets through practicum methods using the Magnetic Electric Trainer which is created and developed using tools and materials in Merauke. Product development is done by making Magnetic Electric teaching aids for electromagnetic material, Induction GGL, Induction on straight wire and electric motors. Where props are made using tools and simple materials that are easily obtained, such as plywood, plastic pipes, cables and magnets. From the results of the application of the use of the Magnetic Electric teaching aids in SMP N 13 Merauke in class VIIID students, with the KKM value of 70 Natural Sciences lessons, the pretest results showed that no student passed the KKM. Then for the quiz score obtained by 5 students who passed the KKM and for the post-test scores obtained 18 students who passed the KKM with a total of grade VIII D students were 23 people consisting of 15 men and 8 women. Besides the Electric Magnet teaching aids, the Magnet Magnet practicum module was also developed. Before testing the teaching aids and the Electric Magnet module it is validated by experts.

Abstract

This study aims to develop local wisdom–based student worksheets on the topic of work and simple machines for junior high school students in South Papua. The limited availability of contextual teaching materials that integrate local cultural practices has restricted students’ ability to connect physics concepts with real-life experiences. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using a modified 4D model limited to the development stage. The participants consisted of material experts, media experts, a science teacher, and ten students in a limited trial. Data were collected using validation sheets and practicality questionnaires and analyzed descriptively using percentage criteria. The results indicate that the developed worksheets were categorized as very feasible by material experts (83%) and feasible by media experts (68%). In addition, the worksheets were considered very practical based on teacher responses (89%) and student responses (90%). These findings suggest that integrating South Papuan local wisdom into instructional materials can enhance contextual understanding and student engagement in physics learning. The novelty of this study lies in embedding local cultural practices into learning materials on work and simple machines. Therefore, the developed worksheets are feasible and practical for supporting meaningful science learning.
