Abstract

Oil palm plantations in South Kalimantan are large enough to produce a lot of waste in the form of male flowers. Oil palm male flowers have not been used optimally, but have the potential to be used as organic fertilizer or bokashi because they contain nutrients which are then able to support growth in plants and fertilize the soil (Hamidiyanto, 2012). Edamame soybean production in South Kalimantan is still minimal, so it needs to be increased, one of which is the use of bokashi fertilizer. The utilization of oil palm male flower waste into bokashi is expected to increase the amount of growth and yield of edamame plants. The research was carried out from February-May 2020 in the land around the greenhouse of the Agroecotechnology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Lambung Mangkurat University, and the Laboratory for Commodity and Environmental Testing of the Banjarbaru Industrial Research and Standardization Center (BARISTAND). The design in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) with one factor, namely the provision of bokashi waste from male oil palm flowers with different doses, namely K1 = 160 grams of bokashi, K2 = 180 grams of bokashi, and K3 = 200 grams of bokashi. The results showed that the application of bokashi from oil palm male flower waste on K2 treatment of 180 grams of bokashi and K3 of 200 grams of bokashi had a significant effect on plant height and number of leaves and number of pods in edamame plants, but did not significantly affect the dry weight of 100 seeds. The best dose of bokashi for yield and growth of edamame plants is the treatment of K2 = 180 grams.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of beeswax and chitosan on the quality of crystal guava fruit (Psidium guajava L. Var. Crystals) and to determine the proper formulation of beeswax and chitosan on the quality of crystal guava fruit (Psidium). guajava L. Var. Crystals). This research was conducted at the Integrated Laboratory of the Department of Agroecotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, Lambung Mangkurat University from July to September 2020. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with one factor, namely without coating or control (P0), 4% beeswax (P1), chitosan 2. , 5% (P2) and combination (P3). Observation benchmarks are weight loss, fruit texture, fruit color, fruit taste, and fruit aroma. Crystal guava fruit used in this study is a light green ripe guava fruit that has been harvested and taken to the Integrated Laboratory of the Agroecotechnology Department for the application of coating materials with three types of treatment and one control or without treatment and stored for four weeks at room temperature with observation parameters. quality in the form of weight loss data and organoleptic test data in the form of color, texture, and fruit taste. Weight loss data and organoleptic test data were analyzed using the De-Garmo method to determine the best treatment.The results showed that the edible coating technology had a very significant effect on the storage of crystal guava fruit based on the quality parameters of fruit weight, fruit texture, fruit color, fruit taste and fruit aroma indicating that beeswax treatment was the best treatment. Based on the calculation of the De-Garmo method, the correct formulation for the quality of crystal guava fruit is the 4% beeswax treatment with the best calculation results on days 7 to 14 with a total product value of 36.8.Copyright ( 2020Agroekotek View. Abstract

Dalam pertumbuhan dan perkembangannya tanaman membutuhkan dua jenis unsur hara, berupa unsur hara makro dan unsur hara mikro. Kedua unsur hara yang dibutuhkan tanaman dapat terpenuhi melalui pemupukan yang tepat serta seimbang. Salah satu jenis pupuk yang dapat memenuhi kebutuhan unsur hara N,P,K dan ramah lingkungan adalah pupuk organik yang diperoleh dari proses pengomposan (penguraian) bahan organik didalam wadah komposter. Pupuk organik terdiri dari dua maca yaitu padat dan cair. Terdapat beberapa jenis pupuk organik padat, salah satunya adalah pupuk kandang. Pupuk kandang adalah pupuk yang berasal dari kotoran hewan. Hewan yang kotorannya sering dijadikan pupuk kandang adalah hewan yang biasa di pelihara masyarakat yaitu kotoran sapi, kambing dan ayam. Baglog jamur tiram merupakan  kompos media tanam berupa serbuk kayu, kapur dan bekatul yang digunakan dalam budidaya jamur, khususnya jamur tiram putih. Limbah jamur tiram yang dibiarkan menumpuk nantinya akan menyebabkan bau yang tidak sedap, sehingga akan menimbulkan polusi udara yang dapat mencemari lingkungan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis pupuk kandang dan M-21 sebagai dekomposer yang berpotensi untuk meningkatkan kualitas kompos limbah baglog jamur tiram dan apakah kualitas kompos limbah baglog jamur tiram yang dihasilkan dapat memenuhi SNI pupuk kompos. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dilahan belakang gedung Lembaga Penjaminan Mutu Universitas Lambung Mangkurat. Dari penelitian ini diperoleh hasil yang menunjukan bahwa kompos limbah baglog jamur tiram yang dihasilkan sudah memenuhi SNI (No. 19-7030-2004), dengan parameter fisik yaitu warna coklat kehitaman, aroma seperti tanah serta parameter kimia yaitu C-organik yang berada dikisaran 9,80% - 32%, kadar N > 0,40%, kadar P > 0,10%, kadar K > 0,2%, kadar Ca < 25,5% serta Mg < 0,6%, sedangkan pH kompos yang dihasilkan tidak memenuhi atau tidak sesuai dengan SNI kompos.

Abstract

Abstrak  Purun tikus (Eleocharis dulcis) merupakan gulma yang tumbuh danberkembang di lahan rawa pasang surut sulfat masam. Purun tikus memiliki kandungan unsur hara bahan organik yaitu N 3,36%, P2O5 0,43%, K2O 2,02%, Ca 0,26%, Mg 0,42%, S 0,76%, Al 0,57%, dan Fe 142,20 mg/l. Berdasarkan kandungan yang dimiliki purun tikus, maka purun tikus dapat berpotensi sebagai pupuk organik. Purun tikus memiliki permasalahan dalam proses perombakan, hal itu karena purun tikus memiliki kandungan serat yang sukar cukup tinggi. Purun tikus memiliki kandungan lignin 17,61%, selulosa 24,61%, dan hemiselulosa 19,67%, sehingga diperlukan dekomposer yang tepat dalam pembuatan pupuk organik cair (POC) dari purun tikus. Salah satu dekomposer yang dapat digunakan untuk pembuatan POC adalah Trichoderma. Beberapa jenis Trichoderma diantaranya adalah T. harzianum, T. koningii, dan T. viridae. Salah satu potensi Trichoderma adalah dapat berperan sebagai organisme pengurai, membantu proses dekomposer dalam pembuatan pupuk.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret-Mei 2021. Bertempat di Rumah Bibit, Laboratorium Produksi, dan Laboratorium Kimia, Fisika, dan Biologi Tanah Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Lambung Mangkurat. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), faktor tunggal terdiri dari 6 taraf perlakuan dengan 4 kali ulangan menghasilkan 24 satuan percobaan. Penggunaan dekomposer dari beberapa jenis Trichoderma tidak berpengaruh terhadap kualitas unsur hara N-Total, P, K, Ca, Mg, C/N rasio, pH, suhu, bau, warna dan lapisan putih pupuk organik cair (POC) dari purun tikus (Eleocharis dulcis), tetapi memberikan pengaruh terhadap kualitas unsur hara Fe. Perlakuan P3 (T. harzianum) merupakan dekomposer terbaik dalam meningkatkan kualitas unsur hara P2O5, Ca, Mg, dan Fe serta menurunkan C/N rasio. Sedangkan perlakuan P4 (T. viridae) merupakan dekomposer terbaik dalam meningkatkan kualitas unsur hara Fe dan menurunkan C/N rasio pupuk organik cair (POC) dari purun tikus (Eleocharis dulcis).

Abstract

Tomato (lycopersicum esculentum L.) is a fruit that is quite popular and has many uses. In addition to the abundant production of tomatoes, tomatoes have a relatively short shelf life and are easily damaged both mechanically and physiologically. In maintaining the quality of tomatoes so that they are durable and reach the hands of consumers, it is necessary to have good post-harvest handling. Edible coating is one of technology that can be used to maintain fruit quality. Beeswax and Kolang Kaling (Arenga pinata Merr.) are materials that can be used as edible coatings. This study aims to determine the effect of the edible coating of beeswax and kolang kaling in maintaining the quality of tomatoes. This research was conducted at the Production Laboratory and Integrated Laboratory of the Agroecotechnology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Lambung Mangkurat University, Banjarbaru from November to December 2020. The method used in this study was (CRD), a completely randomized design with 1 factor namely, edible coating material used. There were 3 treatments of edible caoting material in this study, control or without coating agent (EC0), 6% beeswax emulsion (EC1) and 10% kolang kaling emulsion (EC2) and repeated 6 replications. The observations or benchmarks in this study were fruit color, fruit texture, fruit taste and weight loss of tomatoes which were observed for 12 days. The results of this study indicate that the provision of edible caoting has a effect on the quality of tomatoes. based on the organoleptic test, 6% beeswax treatment was the best treatment in this study to maintain the quality of tomatoes during the observation. Based on the analysis of various treatments, 6% beeswax had a very significant effect on the weight loss of tomatoes on the 8th and 12th days

Abstract

The mustard plant (Brassica juncea L) has green leaves and is round and oval in shape. Leaves have pinnate and branched bones. The problems are often found by farmers are lack of yields, less weight, especially on ultisol soil types. One way to increase the growth and yield of musta greens is by fertilizing. The technology used is potamogeton as organic fertilizer to fertilize the soil, increase plant growth and production, and reduce the amount of potamogeton water weed waste. Dragon grass plant is an aquatic plant belonging to the order Helobiae which becomes waste in right cascade irrigation waters which causes irrigation canals to be obstructed, cleaning of potamogeton is carried out at a certain time in which the potamogeton waste is disposed of without further. In this study, the use of potamogeton waste into compost for mustard plants aimed to determine the effect of giving potamogeton compost to mustard plants and to determine the dose of dragon potamogeton application on the growth and yield of mustard plants., leaf number, leaf width and wet weight on mustard plants because the nutrient requirement for N in potamogeton compost was not sufficient for mustard plants and an effective dose of rpotamogeton compost was not obtained.
