Abstract

This research aimedto: (1) analyze the influence of inputs on the quality of cocoa beans at Sejahtera VillagePalolo Sub District Sigi District and (2) analyze cacao farm income at Sejahtera VillagePalolo Sub District Sigi District. The method usedwas asurvey and samples were taken using a simple random technique. The number of samplesused asrespondentswas 52household head.  The results showed that (1) F test = 65.429 with probability p = 0.000 <0.05 at α = 5% indicates the rejection of the null hypothesis suggesting thatsuch independent variables as urea fertilizer (X1), KCl fertilizer (X2), SP36 fertilizer (X3), pesticides (X4), and labor (X5) have simultaneously significant effect on the number of seeds per 100 g of dry cocoa beans at Sejahtera Village Palolo Sub District.  Partially, urea fertilizer (X1), KCl fertilizer (X2), SP36 fertilizer (X3), pesticides (X4), and labor (X5) significantly affects the number of seeds per 100 g of dry cocoa beans at the level of 95% and (2) the average total cost of the cacaa farming is IDR 14,103,106.34/1.61 ha/year equal to IDR 8,759,693.38/ha/year. The average cocoa farm revenueisIDR 40,060,300.00/1.61 ha/year. Withthe average selling price of IDR  35,000.00 /kg, the average cocoa farming revenue isIDR 25.957.193,66/1.61 ha/year equal to IDR 16,122,480.53/ha/year. The income of cocoa farming in the Sejahtera village per month is IDR 1,343,540/ha.Keywords :Cacao farm, income, input production, andquality of cocoa beans.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe objective of this research was to determine the income of organic and non-organic shallot farming system, to determine the significant difference of production and income of organic and non-organic shallot farming system. This study was conducted from September to October 2017 and its location was purposively determined. Respondents were selected through a Proportional Stratified Random Sampling technique based on the way the respondents practiced the shallot cultivation either organically or non-organically.  The first respondents were 12 farmers and while the others were 18 farmers.  The analysis tool used in this research was the income and comparative analyses. The average income was found to be IDR 12,379,686/ha/planting season (PS) for the organic farming system and IDR 8,031,033/ha/PS for the non-organic farming system. The t-count value was 49.647 at α 5%> t-table 2.048 when the productions of the two farming system were compared and it was 50.975 at α 5% > t-table 2.048 when their incomes were compared. This means H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted which means that the average production and income of the organic shallot farming system is significantly different from those of the non-organic farming system. Keywords : Comparative, income, production, shallot organic and non-organic.

Abstract

This research aimed was to determine the amount of fish floss and resources used in order to maximize profit at fish floss business of Duta Agro Lestari CV. It was conducted at Duta Agro Lestari CV with consideration that this CV is a well-known fish floss enterprise with the highest production capacity in Palu.  The research was done from September – October 2015.  Respondents were determined purposively consisting of one leader and five employees in the Duta Agro Lestari. The analysis results of Programming Linear showed that for each fish floss package of 100 g, 150 g, 200 g and 250 g, they are optimally sold at 95, 75, 75, and 80 units, respectively.  In order to increase the CV profit, the resources used should be 100 kg of raw material, 132 person-days of labor force, IDR 414,000 spent for gas and IDR 224,000 spent for oil.

Abstract

ABSTRACK This study aimed to determine the income of corn farming system, and the significant differences between the corn production and the farming system income under various combinations of inorganic fertilizers. The location of the study was determined purposively and was carried out in September to October 2017. The determination of the respondents was selected by the Proportioned Stratified Random Sampling technique. The number of farmer samples was stratified based on the use of combination of inorganic fertilizers in which a group of 13 people combined Urea with KCl whereas the other group of 17 people combined Urea with NPK. The analysis tool used in this research was the analysis of farm income and comparative analysis. The results showed that the average income of the farmers using the combination of Urea and KCl fertilizers was IDR 6,244,900.45 while those farmers using the combination of Urea and NPK fertilizers was IDR 7,665,322.03. Hypothesis testing on the comparison of the production and the income of the farmers using the combination of Urea and KCl fertilizers and those using the combination of Urea and NPK fertilizer showed the t-count value equal to 7.07 and 5.47, respectively, with α 5% and t-table of 2.048 suggesting that there is a significant difference between the two combinations used by the farmers in Beka village, Marawola sub district of Sigi district. Keywords : Comparative and income analysis, Corn, and  inorganic fertilizer.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe aim of the research was to determine the technical, allocative and economical efficiencies of Lembah Palu shallot farming systems and factors affecting their technical efficiency.  It was conducted in Sigi Biromaru sub district where Bulupountu Jaya, Soulowe, and Oloboju villages located.  Forty farmers were selected using a random sampling technique.  Data collected was analyzed using the production function of stochastic frontier Cobb-Douglas, and input approaches.  The results showed that land size area, seeds, fertilizer and labors significantly affected the production of Lembah Palu shallot at 95% confident level.  The shallot farming systems in Palu were technically efficient but allocatively and economically not yet efficient with the values of 0.98, 0.66 and 0.65, respectively.  Such factors as non-formal and formal education, farming experiences, and family dependents were not significantly affected the technical efficiency. Keywords: Efficiency, production factors, and stochastic frontier.

Abstract

High tomatoes production in Boyaoge not necessarily has positive impact on farmers’ incomedue to the fluctuation of the tomatoes price.  The aims of this study were to (1) identify the form of marketing channels and margins at each marketing channel in Boyaoge village Tatanga sub district of Palu City, (2) to determine tomatoes price in each marketing channel accepted by farmers in Boyaoge village Tatanga sub district of Palu City and (3) the determine marketing efficiency in each marketing channel in in Boyaoge village Tatanga sub district of Palu City.  Farmer respondents 30 people were chosen using census method while traders using tracing sampling technique. The research results showed that the sale price of the tomatoes by the farmers in Boyaoge village Tatanga sub district of Palu City is either IDR 91,520,000/15 ha equal to  IDR 60,800,000/ha.  The tomato farming system in in Boyaoge village Tatanga sub district of Palu City is feasible to be developed as sshown by its two marketing channels: (1) Farmers à Collecting Traders à Distributing Traders à Consumers; (2) Farmers à Distributing Trader à Consumers.  The total margin for each marketing channel was IDR 2,000/kg.  The part of the price received by the farmers was 50% from either channel 1 or 2.   The marketing channel 2 is more efficient than the marketing channel 2 as the ratio of the total cost to the sale price in the former marketing was 17.66% whereas the latter was 5.95%. KeyWords: Marketing, and Tomatoes Farming

Abstract

This research aimed to identify the use efficiency of production factors and the income level of wetland rice farm at Masani Village of Poso Pesisir Sub district of Poso Regency. This Location was purposively determined. Respondents were determined using a simple random sampling method.  The number of samples was 63 people taken from population of 167 people. The Cobb-Douglas production function was used to analyze the use efficiency of wetland rice farm production factors and the level of income was descriptively analyzed. Results of the research showed that (1) factors such as farm area size, seed, fertilizer and labor were not efficiently used in the wetland rice farm at Masani Village of Poso Pesisir Sub district, so increasing these factors are required to reach maximal production and income, and (2) the income of the wetland rice farmers at Masani Village of Poso Pesisir Sub district can be divided into three levels included low income equal             to 30.16%, medium 38.10%, and high 31.74%.
