Abstract

Preoperative preparation is very important to minimize the risks of surgery because the final results of a surgery really depend on the assessment of the patient's condition before surgery. Anxiety in pre-op patients can increase the patient's psychological stimulus, in this case it greatly influences the patient's emotions, so that it can increase blood pressure and even make the patient afraid and uncooperative during surgery. In this case, family support is really needed by preoperative patients to reduce anxiety. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and anxiety levels in pre-operative patients in the inpatient room at Undaan Eye Hospital, Surabaya. The research design used was analytical survey research using a cross sectional approach. The population in this study was the total number of pre-operative patients in the Inpatient Room at the Undaan Eye Hospital, Surabaya, namely 20 respondents in March 2021 with. The number of samples in this study was 19 respondents. The independent variable is pre-operative patient anxiety. Dependent variable is Family Support. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire. Data was expressed on an ordinal scale and analyzed using the Spearman rank statistical test. The research results showed that 18 respondents received high family support (95%), only 1 respondent received moderate support (5%). It was found that 13 respondents did not experience anxiety (68%), and only 1 respondent experienced severe anxiety (5%). Using the Spearman rank statistical test, it was obtained (p) = 0.010, which means that H0 was rejected or there was a relationship between family support and the preoperative anxiety level of patients at the Undaan Eye Hospital, Surabaya. The conclusion of this research is that there is a relationship between family support and the level of anxiety in pre-operative patients in the inpatient ward of the Mata Undaan Hospital, Surabaya. As long as the respondent is in a stressful period due to undergoing surgery, if at that time they receive family support, the psychological burden they experience will be reduced

Abstract

Work motivation is the spirit that can drive nurses to perform their activities or duties in order to achieve organizational goals, and motivate every nurse to have not only personal needs but also the advancement of nursing services in an institution. The purpose of this study is to analyze the leadership style and work motivation of nurses at the Pesantren II Kediri Community Health Center. This research is quantitative in nature with a descriptive correlational research design. The population in this study consists of all employees of the Pesantren II Kediri Community Health Center, totaling approximately 21 individuals. Primary data collection was conducted through questionnaires. The results of the study indicate that the leadership style applied by the head of the department includes democratic, participative, authoritarian, and laissez-faire styles. The performance of nurses, including the stages of assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation, is categorized as good. There is an influence of participative, authoritarian, and laissez-faire leadership styles on the performance of implementing nurses. The conclusion of this study is the presence of an influence of leadership style on the performance of implementing nurses at the Pesantren II Kediri Community Health Center. The leadership should apply an appropriate leadership style tailored to the working conditions and the needs of implementing nurses in order to enhance the performance of nursing care services in the healthcare facility.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that requires long-term treatment. In diabetes mellitus patients, physical exercise is often neglected, one of which is due to lack of knowledge. This research aims to determine the effect of educational videos about diabetic foot exercises on implementing foot exercises in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at the Chania Care Center, Kediri Regency. The research design used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The population in this study was 30 respondents. A total sample of 30 respondents was taken using the total sampling technique. The instrument used the observation sheet. Nominal data scale. The analysis test uses the Mc Nemar test. In this research, before giving the educational video, almost all of them did not do leg exercises, namely 23 respondents (76.7%), after giving the educational video, almost all of them did foot exercises, 26 respondents (86.7%). The results of the Mc Nemar Test analysis showed an effect of providing educational videos about diabetic foot exercises on implementing foot exercises in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at the Chania care center in Kediri district (p-value = 0.001 < α=0.05). A person's knowledge can increase after being given education or health education. Educational methods with videos about diabetes foot exercises can increase DM patients' knowledge of doing foot exercises to improve peripheral blood circulation to the feet.
