Abstract

Penelitian mengenai aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak metanol kulit buah durian (Durio zibethinus Murr.) varietas Petruk telah dilakukan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui : (1) Aktivitas antioksidan dari kulit buah durian (Durio zibethinus Murr.) varietas Petruk, (2) Pengaruh metode ekstraksi terhadap aktivitas antioksidan kulit buah durian (Durio zibethinus Murr.) varietas Petruk,  (3) Potensi kulit durian (Durio zibethinus Murr.) varietas Petruk sebagai antioksidan alami bila dibandingkan  dengan asam askorbat. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen laboratorium. Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan 3 variasi, yaitu (a) maserasi dengan pengadukan sesekali, (b) maserasi dengan pengadukan setiap 1 jam dan (c) sokletasi.   Uji aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan metode DPPH. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa (1) Kulit buah durian (Durio zibethinus Murr) varietas petruk memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dengan nilai IC50 masing-masing sebesar 108,87 ppm (sedang) untuk hasil ekstraksi maserasi dengan pengadukan sesekali, 94,125 ppm (kuat) untuk hasil ekstraksi maserasi dengan pengadukan setiap 1 jam dan 54.32 ppm (kuat) untuk hasil ekstraksi sokletasi (2) Metode ekstraksi berpengaruh terhadap jumlah senyawa antioksidan yang terekstrak  sehingga berpengaruh juga terhadap aktivitas antioksidannya, (3) Kulit  buah durian (Durio zibethinus Murr) varietas Petruk berpotensi sebagai antioksidan alami, meskipun memiliki nilai IC50 yang lebih rendah daripada asam askorbat (9,9 ppm).

Abstract

Waste management has become a significant challenge due to the increasing volume of waste driven by rapid population growth. Banyudono District, a major contributor to waste in Boyolali Regency, faces considerable difficulties in managing this waste. This community service initiative applies the Community-Based Resource (CBR) approach to empower the local community in processing organic waste and livestock manure into biogas energy. Through the implementation of biogas machines, capacity-building training, and technology guidance, the community is actively involved in the process. As a result, Dukuh Village now operates a biogas production system, and the community has gained the necessary knowledge and skills to independently manage waste and livestock manure for biogas production. This project not only addresses waste management issues but also promotes sustainable energy solutions by leveraging local resources and fostering active community participation.

Abstract

The development of STEM-project-based learning (STEM-PjBL) materials demands rigorous validation to ensure their quality, effectiveness, and relevance to learning objectives, particularly in complex chemistry topics such as stoichiometry. However, many existing tools lack rigorous validation, potentially undermining the credibility of both research outcomes and educational practices. This study aims to evaluate the quality of STEM-PjBL learning materials on stoichiometry supported by a simple photometer, by assessing the content validity of various instructional and assessment instruments using Aikens Index. A quantitative document analysis approach was employed, with validation conducted through a focus group discussion (FGD) involving seven experts: four chemistry education lecturers from Sebelas Maret University and Padang State University, and three experienced high school chemistry teachers from Surakarta. The instruments evaluated included a teaching module, student worksheet, STEM-PjBL implementation and sustainability literacy questionnaire, sustainability literacy pre-test and post-test, observation sheet for student performance during practicum, water filtration project scoring rubrics, and a cognitive pre-test and post-test on stoichiometry. Expert judgments focused on the clarity, relevance, and alignment of each item with intended learning indicators. The Aikens V coefficient was used to measure inter-rater agreement, with a threshold of 0.76 indicating acceptable content validity. All instruments met the criteria for high content validity. These findings confirm that the developed STEM-PjBL materials and assessment tools are valid and suitable for classroom implementation, offering strong support for enhancing students conceptual understanding, performance skills, and sustainability literacy in chemistry education
