Abstract

The goals of this research to describe the application of cooperative learning model of Think Pair Share combined Make a Match, student activities, communication skills, learning outcomes, and student responses. The research design used was One Group Pretest-Posttest design with a sample of 36 students in class XI IPA 4 MAN Sidoarjo. The results showed that (1)Implementation model at three meetings in a row obtained a percentage of 89.58%; 89.58% and 95.83%. (2)Student activities at three meetings successively got a percentage of 97.96%; 95.56%; 96.11%. (3)Communication skills in the form of the quantity questions in three meetings with a percentage of 27.78%; 36.11% and 41.67% with quite good category, and the number of students' opinion in three meetings with a percentage of 36.11%; 55.56% and 72, 22%. Communication skills in the form of quality questions and opinions of students in three meetings with the number of students a good predicate of 3 and 12 students; 7 and 15 students; 6 and 19 students. (4)Student learning outcomes obtain an average score of 80.67, while classical completeness student learning outcomes of 88.89%. (5)Positive responses of students obtain an average percentage of 92.01% with very good criteria.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the feasibility of POGIL-based student worksheets to remediate misconceptions in terms of validity, practicality, and effectiveness, with the object of research of 11th grade students of Al-Islam Krian High School. Validity was measured from the content and construct validation sheets. The responses and activities of students measure practicality. Effectiveness is measured by the percentage of misconceptions that turn toward understanding the concept. The development of this Student Worksheet refers to the development of Research and Development (R&D). The model used is the 4D model, which consists of 4 stages, namely define, design, development, and dissemination. The research that has been carried out is limited to the development stage in the trial step. The validation result data is ordinal data that can be analyzed by determining the mode of each assessment aspect. The validity of worksheet is reviewed from the validity of content and construct which obtained a mode score of 4 with a valid category. The practicality results show that the worksheet is efficient with the activity for each trial of 95.56%, 95.56%; and 97.22%. The practicality of worksheet based on the POGIL learning model in terms of student response questionnaires using a Guttman scale through positive and negative statements with the answers "Yes" or "No" with the results of positive student responses of 95.78%.The effectiveness of the worksheet in terms of the results of shifting misconceptions towards understanding concepts was 81.06% in the theory of acids and bases, 70.09% in the strength of acids and bases, and 69.86% in acid and base indicators, with a significance value of 0.000 in the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that the POGIL-based worksheet developed was feasible to be able to remediate students' misconceptions on acid and base materials.

Abstract

This research aimed to obtain the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of student worksheets oriented on guided inquiry to improve critical thinking skills in acid-base material. The type of research used was 4D model development research, but it was limited to the third stage, namely Develop. The research sample consisted of 34 students from class XI IPA 4 SMAN 14 Surabaya. The instruments used were validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and pretest and posttest question sheets. The validation results show that the student worksheets 1, 2, and 3 in the content criteria get mode 4 in the good category, and construct criteria get mode 5 in the very good category so that overall the teaching module gets mode ≥3 and is declared valid. The overall practicality results of the student worksheets obtained an average percentage of 90.09% with efficient criteria. The results of the overall effectiveness of student worksheets oriented on guided inquiry obtained an n-gain score of 0.71 which is included in the high category. In addition, the sig value. (2-tailed) obtained from the paired sample t-test of 0.000 which shows an increase in students' critical thinking skills and the student worksheets oriented on guided inquiry are effective for use in learning.
