Abstract

The purpose of this study is to discover the process of using Kahoot! to improve student's reading comprehension, the improvement of students' reading comprehension after teaching with Kahoot!, and how students respond to the Kahoot! application. The researcher employed a classroom action research design (CAR), and data was gathered through the use of a test, questionnaire, and observation sheets. The outcome revealed that there was a positive response after the action was carried out. Following the action, 66,7% of students strongly agreed that Kahoot! could improve reading comprehension and 53,3% agreed that Kahoot! was effective in learning English. Furthermore, the students' mean pre-test score was 64, and 4 (26,7%) were able to pass the KKM. The mean score of post-test 1 was 69,3, and the percentage of students who passed the KKM was 6 (40%). The mean score of post-test 2 was 74,2, and the percentage of students who passed the KKM was 8 (53,3%). The mean score of post-test 3 was 78,3 and the class percentage of students who passed the KKM was 13 (87%). It can be concluded that Kahoot! is a suitable medium for use in high school, particularly for improving students' reading comprehension.

Abstract

Sejalan dengan program yang digalakan pemerintah daerah Kabupaten Subang yang bertajuk Subang Jawara yang merupakan kepanjangan dari Jaya, Istimewa, dan Sejahtera maka salah satu aspek yang harus diwujudkan adalah menggalakan potensi ekomomi yang ada di setiap wilayah di Kabupaten Subang. Kabupaten Subang di di dominasi wilayah pedesaan yang menghasilkan beragam hasil bumi, yang kemudian di olah menjadi beragam produk penganan yang di hasilkan oleh usaha individu maupun kelompok UMKM. Dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini peneliti mencoba menitik beratkan pada peran sosial media dalam upaya meningkatkan perekonomian pelaku UMKM di Desa Jalupang. Adapun permasalahan yang akan dibahas dalam pengabdian ini yaitu bagaimana rancangan strategi pemasaran UMKM Olahan Jamur Tiram di Desa Jalupang. Adapun tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah: 1)Mengedukasi masyarakat terkait potensi ekonomi dari hasil olahan jamur tiram, 2) Mengetahui potensi UMKM Desa Jalupang terutama terkait strategi promosi penjualan melalui media sosial yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan perekonomiannya. Metodologi pengabdian yang dilakukan adalah penelitan lapangan (Field Research). Peneliti mengadakan pengamatan tentang suatu fenomena dalam suatu keadaan alamiah. Sehingga diharapkan dengan pengabdian ini adanya hubungan antara peran sosial media terhadap peningkatan perekonomian pelaku UMKM di Desa Jalupang

Abstract

This abstract provides a summary of the main points related to writing difficulties, writing problems, lack of vocabulary, grammar errors, and a lack of interest in reading. These obstacles significantly impede students' writing skills and overall literacy development. This researcht highlights the interconnections between these challenges and their impact on students' ability to effectively express themselves in writing. It underscores the importance of addressing vocabulary limitations, grammar errors, and promoting reading engagement to improve students' writing proficiency and cultivate a deeper appreciation for language and literacy. By recognizing and tackling these challenges, educators can effectively support students in overcoming writing difficulties and fostering their growth as proficient writers

Abstract

Fenomenologi, dikonseptualisasikan oleh Edmund Husserl, berpusat pada pengalaman subjektif individu saat mereka terlibat dengan dan memanfaatkan bahasa (Husserl, 2012). fenomenologi berfokus pada bagaimana bahasa dipahami dan dialami oleh individu (Bonyadi, 2023). Pendekatan ini menghindari generalisasi kuantitatif dan lebih mengedepankan eksplorasi kualitatif atas makna dan persepsi bahasa oleh penutur (Ritunnano et al., 2023). Digunakan untuk menggali pengalaman subjektif pengguna bahasa, dengan fokus pada makna yang dihasilkan individu dalam penggunaan bahasa. Metode ini sering melibatkan teknik seperti wawancara mendalam dan analisis naratif, yang memungkinkan peneliti untuk memahami bagaimana individu membentuk makna melalui bahasa. Pendekatan fenomenologis dalam analisis historis bahasa menekankan pengalaman subjektif individu, menawarkan wawasan tentang bagaimana konteks pribadi dan sosial membentuk pemahaman bahasa. Abstract

The integration of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) into higher education has significantly transformed academic writing practices, particularly in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) contexts. While GenAI tools offer pedagogical benefits, they also raise concerns regarding academic integrity, authorship, and student autonomy. This study explores university students’ perceptions of GenAI in academic writing.A qualitative case study design was employed involving 12 undergraduate EFL students at an Indonesian university. Participants were purposively selected based on their prior use of AI tools. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions and analyzed using Braun and Clarke’s thematic analysis framework.Four major themes emerged: (1) perceived benefits, including improved linguistic accuracy, idea generation, time efficiency, and reduced writing anxiety; (2) challenges and limitations, such as inconsistent AI output, over-reliance, and loss of personal writing voice; (3) ethical concerns, including plagiarism risks, unclear institutional policies, and ambiguity surrounding authorship; and (4) the impact on learning processes, where AI functions both as a cognitive scaffold and a potential barrier to critical thinking and independent learning.The findings indicate that GenAI plays a dual role in EFL academic writing, simultaneously enhancing and complicating students’ writing development. While it supports language proficiency and productivity, excessive dependence may hinder deeper cognitive engagement and authenticity. The study underscores the necessity of integrating AI literacy and establishing clear ethical guidelines to promote responsible use. These insights provide implications for educators, curriculum designers, and policymakers in fostering balanced and ethical AI integration in academic writing.
