Abstract

Penelitian ini diambil karena masih adanya persepsi negatif terhadap PMI yang dianggap menjual darah. Hal ini dikarenakan dalam prakteknya orang diambil darahnya secara gratis namun saat membutuhkan darah mereka membayar dengan harga yang relative mahal. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah cross secsional untuk melihat hubungan persepsi dengan minat donor darah pada masyarakat Dusun Selebung pada bulan Juli 2021. Sembilan puluh tiga masyarakat dari dusun Selebung sebagai sampel penelitian. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan diskriptif. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuisioner dengan menggunakan skala Likert dengan jumlah pertanyaan 35 butir. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa persepsi donor darah dikategorikan sedang dengan persentase 49,5% untuk persepsi positif dan 58,8% untuk persepsi negatif sedangkan untuk minat donor darah juga masuk dalam kategori sedang dengan jumlah persentase 41,2%. sedangkan hasil koefisien korelasi antar variabel sebesar 0,637. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan dan kuat antara variabel persepsi donor darah dan minat donor darah, karena persepsi donor darah yang kurang tinggi mempengaruhi minat donor darah.

Abstract

Anemia remains a common health problem among female students, often associated with low hemoglobin levels due to inadequate iron intake and insufficient physical activity. Female students are a vulnerable group due to menstrual blood loss, irregular dietary patterns, and lifestyle changes. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between physical activity patterns and iron consumption patterns with hemoglobin levels among female students at Politeknik Bina Trada Semarang in 2025. This study used an analytic quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The population was all female students at Politeknik Bina Trada Semarang, with a sample of 43 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Inclusion criteria included active female students without diseases affecting hemoglobin levels, while exclusion criteria were those menstruating during data collection. Data were collected using questionnaires for physical activity and iron consumption patterns, and hemoglobin levels were measured using the CuSO? method. Data were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that 58% of respondents had low hemoglobin levels. Most respondents had light physical activity (53.5%) and rarely consumed iron-rich foods (48.8%). Statistical analysis indicated no significant relationship between physical activity patterns and hemoglobin levels (p = 0.084), as well as between iron consumption patterns and hemoglobin levels (p = 0.373). There is no significant relationship between physical activity patterns and iron consumption patterns with hemoglobin levels among female students. However, both factors remain important in maintaining optimal health and preventing anemia.

Abstract

One of the prosocial activities is voluntary blood donation consisting of Voluntary Blood Donors and Surrogate Blood Donors. In 2021, all activities in the aspect of health services experienced obstacles due to factors from the Covid-19 pandemic, especially blood donation services, so that the number of donors decreased, while the number of blood demand increased. SMA Negeri 1 Semarang is one of the leading schools in Semarang City that routinely holds blood donation activities every year. The purpose of this study is to find out the voluntary blood donors at SMA Negeri 1 Semarang post-Covid-19 in 2022-2023. This research method was descriptive qualitative research using primary and secondary data types. The sampling technique was carried out by non-probability and judgement/purposive sampling which refers to the Krejcie and Morgan formula to determine the sample size. The data is processed using the IBM SPSS application version 25. The results of this study can be concluded that voluntary blood donors based on female gender have increased while male gender has decreased. Blood donors based on the age of 17-19 years have increased while the age of >19 years has decreased.

Abstract

The CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing system represents a powerful approach for precision targeting of genetic determinants involved in cancer cell survival. This study evaluated the ability of CRISPR-Cas9 to induce apoptosis in cancer cells through targeted disruption of anti-apoptotic genes. Acute myeloid leukemia (HL-60 and KG-1) and anaplastic thyroid cancer (8505C and C643) cell lines were used to knockout BIRC5 (survivin) and MADD using specific single-guide RNAs. Efficient genome editing was achieved, with indel formation exceeding 50% across all models. Targeting BIRC5 and MADD significantly reduced cell viability to 39.8–54.6% of control levels and induced substantial apoptosis. Total apoptotic populations reached 52.8–60.1% following BIRC5 knockout and 45.3–50.6% following MADD knockout. Apoptosis induction was confirmed by caspase-3/7 activation, increased Sub-G1 accumulation, and cleavage of apoptosis-related proteins, indicating activation of the intrinsic apoptotic pathway.Notably, BIRC5 disruption consistently produced stronger pro-apoptotic effects than MADD across all cancer models. Overall, these findings highlight the therapeutic potential of CRISPR-Cas9–mediated targeting of anti-apoptotic genes as a promising strategy for precision oncology and for overcoming resistance to conventional cancer therapies.
