Abstract

This study aims to measure and analyze the effect of government spending on education, government spending on health, government spending on social protection, investment, and an educated workforce on the human development index in eastern Indonesia, both directly and indirectly through economic growth. This study uses panel data with 17 cross sections over a 5 year time series , from 2015 to 2019. The analytical method used is the structural equation method. The results of the study show that government spending on education does not have a direct effect on the human development index, while government spending on health, investment and an educated workforce has a positive effect. Meanwhile, government spending on social protection has a negative effect. Meanwhile, the indirect effect of all exogenous variables through economic growth is stated to have no effect. This is due to the absence of the influence of economic growth on the human development index. The most dominant influence on the human development index is from an educated workforce, so the government needs to focus more on educating the entire community to create superior and competitive human resources. Superior human resources are directly proportional to income which will increase so that a decent standard of living can be met, because the most important thing in the entire development process is the people themselves.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to examine the cointegration relationship between innovation, TFP, and Indonesia's economic growth. The data used is secondary data in the form of a time series with a range of 1978–2019 sourced from WDI and PWT 10.0. The estimation technique uses the ARDL Bound Test Cointegration method. Empirical findings show that in the long term, innovation and TFP have a positive and significant influence on Indonesia's economic growth. In the short term, it is found that GDP lag-1, TFP, and trends have positive implications for driving Indonesia's economic growth. The balance of adjustments in the long term is shown from the ECT value, and based on the bound test, it is found that there is a long-term cointegration relationship.

Abstract

The economic growth of Pasangkayu regency experienced fluctuations between 2016 and 2020. Roads and Electricity of economic infrastructure and Education and Health of social infrastructure were assumed to have an influence on the growth of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). No preliminary research has been found examining the interrelationships of infrastructures with economic development, particularly in Pasangkayu Regency. The purpose of this research is to see the influence of road, electricity, education, and health on economic growth in relation to GRDP. Secondary data collection from BPS Pasangkayu Regency and BPS West Sulawesi Province was carried out from 2010-2020. Classical assumption methods such as normality, autocorrelation, multicollinearity, and heteroskedasticity tests were met in this study so that multiple linear regression tests such as t-tests, f-tests, and R2 were performed. The results of this research show that the entire economic infrastructure (Road Infrastructure p-value 0.213; Electricity Infrastructure p-value 0,643) and social infrastructure (Education Infrastructure p-value 0.094; Health Infrastructure p-value 0.651) simultaneously and partially has no effect on the economic growth of Pasangkayu regency. The increasing provision of Road, Electricity, Education and Health infrastructures is not in line with the increase in GRDP of Pasangkayu Regency which experienced negative growth in the ten-year period.
