Abstract

Dominasi interaksi warga di dunia digital masih menyisakan ketidaksetaraan antar generasi. Walau data menunjukkan dari 268 juta penduduk Indonesia, terdapat 355 juta pengguna seluler (133%). Dimana 91% mengakses informasi melalui ponsel, mayoritas interaksi digital ini berasal digital native. Digital natives (17-34 tahun) adalah generasi yang lahir berdampingan dengan perkembangan teknologi. Sedang digital immigrants (45-65 tahun) lahir sebelum teknologi digital berkembang pesat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik dua kali wawancara dengan FGD dengan 55 orang responden. Ke 55 responden berasal dari digital natives (20) dan digital immigrants (35). Teknik wawancara menggunakan tidak terstruktur. Dengan analisis data bersifat deskriptif. Penelitian ini menemukan adanya misinterpretasi kompetensi digital, terutama dalam konsumsi informasi hoaks. Dibandingkan dengan generasi digital immigrant dalam mengkonsumsi berita, digital natives menunjukkan ketimpangan schemata dalam mengenali informasi digital. Kedua generasi masih mudah terprovokasi dengan kandungan emosional hoaks. Terjadi kendala untuk digital natives merubah kondisi sosial atas persebaran berita hoaks (digital divide). Pola patron-client menjadi salah satu penyebab hoaks menjadi informasi yang dipercaya juga oleh digital natives.

Abstract

The nature of philanthropy culture is inseparable from Indonesian society. By donating Indonesia ranks first as the country in terms of generosity according to the World Giving Index 2020 report. In the time of the Covid-19 pandemic, digital donations became a beneficial solution for need of giving donation. According to the GoPay Digital Donation Index 2020 report, interest in online donations is quite high among Millennials. However, from the increase of online donations, there are people who abuse it. There are three common modes that are done, namely; 1) using fake photos, 2) using the name of an official institution, and 3) pretending as a public figure. To prevent getting caught up in fake donation fraud there are 6 steps that can be done. This article will discuss both the mode of fraud and its preventive measures.

Abstract

Seniors who are digital immigrants, namely those born when digital media did not yet exist, were forced to move into a completely digital world. Habits and culture are certainly very different. In this dilemma, it is not uncommon for elderly citizens to be targets of misuse of digital devices. So, we carried out this activity to be able to provide knowledge related to digital literacy, train the elderly in fact-checking with methods and tools and be able to make the elderly become agents of digital literacy. The method of this activity is training accompanied by an activity facilitator. Delivery of training with lectures, discussions, and use of fact-checking tools. The results of the training show that participants can know about digital security and personal data protection, can identify hoaxes, and can carry out independent fact checks
