Abstract

The objective of this research was to know about how to teach English poetry in the EFL classroom through classroom presentation. Poetry has been used in teaching and learning English in the classroom. Many educators have attempted to deal with poetry in the EFL classroom. English poetry is a subject in the fifth semester of the English Department at STKIP Kie Raha Ternate. The research design used in this research is qualitative research. The population in this research was all students of the English Department of STKIP Kie Raha Ternate, and the samples of this research were 20 fifth-semester students of the English department of STKIP Kie Raha Ternate. To collect the data the researcher used classroom observation and documentation. To analyze the data, the researcher was analyzed the data from the result of classroom observation or in other words the researcher analyzes the result of classroom presentation. The analysis showed that classroom presentation can enhance the students’ achievement in learning poetry.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve students' reading skills using picture and picture media. This research is a Classroom Action Research. The research was conducted in two cycles. The subjects of this study were 23 students in class IX SMP Kristen Idamgamlamo west Halmahera. The data collection techniques in this study were observation and test. While the data analysis techniques were used The results showed that: The use of picture and picture media can improve students' reading activities. The increase occurred in cycle I is 53,8%. Learning activities were not optimal. The implementation of cycle II is 88,4% causes activity and learning outcomes to be good and increase to a higher level so that it can support quality learning. The conclusion of this research is to improve reading ability by using picture and picture media in class IX SMP Kristen idamgamlamo Halmahera Barat.

Abstract

The primary goal of the research is to determine the student's accuracy and fluency in speaking by using the calling method. The researcher gathered the data using a pre-experimental design. There were 54 students in the second grade at High School Muhammadiyah Ternate who made up the research population. We used 25 students as the research sample. The oral examination method was used by the researcher to gather data. The research's data analysis showed that after using the Callan Method to teach the students, their speaking abilities significantly improved. It was demonstrated by the outcome of the statistical analysis of the data analysis, which showed that the t-test value was 3.65 and the t-table value was 2.063, with 3.65 > 2.063, at the level of significance 0.05 with degree of freedom (Df = 24). The first-graders at high school Muhammadiyah Ternate have good speaking skills.

Abstract

This study is associative research aimed at analyzing, identifying, and explaining the influence of Intrinsic Motivation, Extrinsic Motivation, and Work Environment on the Performance of Employees of the Financial and Asset Management Agency of Papua Province. The data in this research comprised 60 respondents out of a total population of 148 civil servants, representing 40.54%, determined through the Slovin sampling method with Simple Random Sampling as the probability sampling technique. The primary data source for this study was obtained by distributing questionnaires to all respondents. The statistical method employed to test hypotheses was multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS. Based on both partial and simultaneous testing results, it was found that intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation, and work environment significantly influence employee performance in the Financial and Asset Management Agency of Papua Province. This study highlights the dynamics within the Financial and Asset Management Agency of Papua Province and provides a deeper understanding of the factors influencing employee performance.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the Vocab-O-Gram strategy can increase students' vocabulary. This study's methodology is pre-experimental. In this situation, the aforementioned strategy assisted the students in enhancing their motivation to lift new vocabulary. Students at class science II (two) SMA Bajiminasa Makassar as the population in this research. 20 students participated in the study's sample, which was created using a representative sampling technique in which only a small number of students were selected as the study's potential subjects. The data in question was then examined in the percentage format, along with ratio and percentage analysis and t-test. The results of the data analysis show that there are differences between the two tests namely the pre-test and post-test, which are distinguished by the fact that the test taken after the first one is larger than the test taken before it (8.35 > 6.05). The t-test result was more significant than the t-table result (22.11 > 2.039) at the significance level of 0.05 per cent. The data that was obtained by the researchers and entered into the table shows that the ratio of the initial rate to the final rate is larger. It can be inferred that the Vocab-O-Gram strategy was successful in raising the test scores of the second-grade students at SMA Bajiminasa Makassar.

Abstract

Background: Minimnya pengetahuan dan skill guru terkait teknologi yang dijadikan sebagai media pembelajaran menyebabkan guru kurang kreatif sehingga membuat minat belajar siswa menjadi bosan dan tidak menyenangkan. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan pembelajaran kepada para guru agar dapat melaksanakan proses pembelajaran yang efektif dan menyenangkan guna meningkatkan minat belajar siswa. Metode: Kegiatan ini dimulai dengan tahap analisis dengan menanyakan kendala para guru di SDN 239 Sarajoko terkait proses pembelajaran secara online melalui aplikasi zoom bersama para guru di sdn 239 sarajoko sejumlah 13 orang dan secara offline pula di laksanakan, kemudian merancang dan melaksanakan pelatihan aplikasi canva sebagai media pembelajaran dengan melakukan presentasi materi yang setelah itu terdapat sesi tanya jawab dan tahap evaluasi hasil pelatihan serta tahap akhir dalam bentuk konsultasi yang dilakukan agar tetap melakukan hubungan komunikasi kepada mitra dan tim pengabdi. Hasil: Adapun hasil dari pengbabdian ini dapat di gambarkan dalam beberapa tahapan yaitu 3 indikator yang menjadi fokus tim pengabdi untuk diimplementasikan dalam program tersebut adalah aplikasi canva dalam membuat video, power point dan poster sebagai bahan pembelajaran. Kesimpulan: Kegiatan pelatihan aplikasi canva ini sangat membantu para guru guna meningkatkan kemampuan mereka dalam memberikan metode pengajaran modern dan efektif yang akan membuat proses pembelajaran menjadi sistematis dan nyaman.
