Abstract

Abstract. Automated Meter Reading (AMR) is technology used in electricity meter that able to monitor the customer’s electricity usage remotely. DMR or Data Monitoring Report is the feature in existing AMR system which function is to analyze the load profile data from meters. Load profile data is a powerful database to analyze customer's electricity usage, but due to the difficulty of operating and less friendly user interface, it was only used for billing purposes. With this system, the data analysis harder to be done because need to consolidate data from 9 (nine) locations manually, and the success of load profile data downloaded also not well monitored. Started from those problems, came the idea to develop new Data Management Report System as Business Process Improvement (BPI) that expected to be able to close the “holes.” The new system called MONAS (Monitoring dan Analisa AMR Sistem). The objective of this research is to develop new Data Monitoring Report for AMR System as the business solution and assess the performance of new system in several parameters: productivity, cost, time and quality. This research methodology utilizes quantitative with purposive sampling technique which object the employees of Disjaya categorized in a4 types: active user, passive user, management and system developer. The objective of survey is to dig in the user’s perspective about the performance improvement as the impact of MONAS implementation. Next, to get to know either our organization is already done BPI, it needs to be compared. This research compares the previous performance with the current and the current performance with the other benchmarked company. As the result, MONAS succeed to improve : productivity (to 13.75 times), cost (to 26 times more efficient), time (to 23 times faster) and quality (29.78% better than previous system). MONAS also succeed to answer the problems by increasing the success rate of load profile data. Having higher percentage of load profile data downloaded combined with complex calculation, could enhance the finding of electricity usage abnormalities. As recommendation, MONAS needs to be enhanced in features to increase response time, capital capacity (server) should be ready with more number of customers and prepare MONAS to be implemented in national scale. Keywords: Automated Meter Reading (AMR), Business Process Improvement (BPI), MONAS (Monitoring danAnalisa AMR Sistem)

To cope with the amount of inventory that is high enough, PT Kalbe Farma Tbk implement lean manufacturing in order to obtain the production process that uses the minimum inventory. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of lean manufacturing in PT Kalbe Farma Tbk and its impact. The study uses secondary data methodology which are lead time, the amount of work in process (WIP) and achievement rate. For three times the period of the determination of lead time and the amount of WIP, obtained trend that the lower lead time and WIP, the lower the amount of achievement rate. One cause that is dominant is the absence of a tablet and after visible roots of the problem is caused by unplanned breakdown. Appropriate to principles of Toyota Production System and Operational Excellence, the basis of the application of lean manufacturing is a system of production, including production machinery, need to be stable. According to Liker, when enginee often stops, management needs to think to implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). TPM involves all employees of all levels to maintain engine performance. Abstract

Abstract - Economic prosperity brings greater demand for travel. The increasing affordability of air travel has opened up new destinations and possibilities. The availability of sufficient airport capacity is an important constraint on future growth. However, even at current levels of use, many airports in the world are becoming increasingly congested as they attempt to cope with rising passenger numbers. In some cases, the capacity of terminals, apron and runways is at, or near, saturation point, SHIA also faces the same situation. The data collected in this research is primary data that obtained from interviewing of ten (10) key personnel from several professions and work unit in SHIA and secondary data obtained from internal AP II and literature review on documents that related with this research. The data then will be analyzed using fishbone diagram and research construct analysis to find the critical factors. The first step that can be done to solve the problems regarding runway capacity improvements is by conducting identification about the important factors that could improve runway capacity at SHIA airport. There are 16 important factors that affecting the determination of runway capacity improvement at SHIA. The most influential factors are ATC Separation Requirement, Rapid Exit Taxiway (RET) Number and Position, and New 3rd Runway. Keywords : Airport, Runway Capacity, Congestion, Delays, Critical Factor.

Abstract

This paper describes the performance management and reward systems as it has been, and should have been implemented in PT XYZ. The need for updating and implementing the updated PT XYZ’s performance management and reward systems are because there have been such business issues as higher failure rate in test bay and lower employee productivity if compared with the specified targets in the financial year of 2010-2011. Based on the following facts and theory: (1) ICMA International’s survey in 2010 of PT XYZ’s employees; (2) The expectancy theory model which describes that employee’s satisfaction and motivation are as functions of his or her last effort to performance expectancies, performance to reward expectancies and perceived attractiveness of rewards; and (3) intense communication between the president director and the president of union of PT XYZ of bonus scheme and salary increment, the author believes that the root causes of increase in failure rate in test bay and lower productivity are that the major employees of PT XYZ had less motivation and target commitments. These were due to their dissatisfaction with the implemented performance management and reward systems in PT XYZ. PT XYZ has decided to approach both short and long-term business solutions in handling the business issues. The short-term business solutions are more likely to be fire-fighting activities. They are developed and implemented for smoothening (daily) operational activities while the long-term solutions are developed to be in-line with PT XYZ’s long-term (strategic) plans or intents. Keywords: Performance management, failure in test bay, productivity.
