Abstract

Research on the chemical quality of Sapera goat milk at Wayang Dairy Farm Bandung Regency has been carried out. This study aimed to determine and examine the chemical quality of fresh milk in the dairy company Wayang Dairy Farm. This research was conducted in May-June 2023 at Wayang Dairy Farm, Pangalengan District, Bandung, Laboratory of Nutrition and Animal Product Technology, Faculty of Agroindustry, Universitas Mercu Buana Yogyakarta and Food Technology and Agricultural Products test laboratory, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Gadjah Mada. The research method used a survey method and tested the chemical quality of fresh milk from the morning milking of 10 Sapera goats. The observed parameters of the chemical quality of fresh milk are protein content, fat and specific gravity of milk. The collected test result data is then tabulated and averaged using MS. Office Excel and analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the chemical quality of fresh milk on average had a protein content of 4.71%, fat of 6.70%, and specific gravity of 1.3139 g/ml. It was concluded that the chemical quality of fresh milk at Wayang Dairy Farm is very good and in accordance with the Indonesian national standard (SNI) 2011.

Abstract

Ternak ruminansia menghasilkan limbah padat dan cair. Limbah padat terdiri dari kotoran atau feses dan sisa pakan,sedangkan limbah cair berasal dari urin. Limbah tersebut dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pupuk organik yang cocok untuk pupuk dasar tanaman sayuran. Pengabdian ini bertujuan memberikan pengetahuan tentang teknologi pengolahan limbah yang berasal dari ternak ruminansia di Argomulyo, Sedayu, Bantul, D.I.Yogyakarta. Pengabdian ini telah dilaksanakan dan diikuti oleh peserta berjumlah 30 peserta. Metode pelaksanaan dengan cara memberikan edukasi dan praktik secara langsung. Tahapan pelaksanaan dimulai dengan memberikan sosialisasi dan pemaparan materi pengenalan teknologi pengolahan limbah serta manfaat limbah dari ternak ruminansia serta diakhiri dengan sesi tanya jawab peserta dan narasumber. Selanjutnya dilakukan praktik pembuatan pupuk kompos pada minggu pertama, pengolahan lahan pada minggu ke dua, pencampuran pupuk kompos pada lahan yang sudah diolah pada minggu ke tiga, penanaman pada minggu ke 4 dan pelaksanaan panen pada minggu ke delapan. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan peserta meningkat dan dapat memanfaatkan limbah ternak ruminansia dengan baik serta dapat menghasilkan sayuran organik untuk menambah pendapatan.

Abstract

Feed technology is one of the best ways to improve the quality and extend the shelf life of feed. Feed consists of forage, legumes, concentrates and others. This service aims to provide knowledge about feed processing and preservation technology for ruminants in Pilangrejo Village, Nglipar, Gunung Kidul D.I.Yogyakarta. This service has been carried out and attended by 25 breeders. Implementation method by providing education and practice directly. The implementation stage begins with the distribution of pre-test questionnaires before the activity, the presentation of material on the introduction of feed technology, the distribution of post-test questionnaires to participants and ends with a question and answer session for participants and speakers. Furthermore, the introduction of feed in the form of forage such as odot grass, elephants, kings, rice straw, field grass and others that can be given with the potential availability in the area, The feed technology education provided is the technology of making feed silage. The results of the service show that knowledge of feed technology has increased at the farmer level based on post tests and direct practice, so it is hoped that with this education the people of Nglipar Village can process animal feed optimally and can be one of the solutions to feed shortages in the dry season.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui besarnya pengaruh litter size dan berat induk terhadap masa laktasi kambing Perah Peranakan Etawah (PE) di Kaligesing Kabupaten Purworejo Jawa Tengah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survey dengan purposive sampling dan data dianalisis dengan analisis korelasi sederhana. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 100 ekor kambing peranakan etawah betina yang sudah laktasi minimal dua kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata – rata litter size 2,04 ekor, rata-rata masa laktasi 3,24 bulan memiliki hubungan sebesar 0,106. Sedangkan untuk berat induk rata – rata 44,77 kg dan memiliki hubungan 0,129. Disimpulkan bahwa litter size dan berat induk kambing PE Kaligesing memiliki hubungan yang rendah terhadap masa laktasi.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the success rate of artificial insemination (AI) in dairy cows at KPSBU Lembang District based on experience and different ages of inseminators. The research was carried out on December 26, 2022 - January 31, 2023, in Lembang District. The research was conducted using a survey method and the variables measured were the success of artificial insemination including service per conception (S/C), Conception Rate (CR), Non-Return Rate (NRR), and Calving Interval (CI). Data analysis used in this study is a simple correlation analysis and quantitative descriptive. The results showed that the average age of the inseminator was 39 years old, the average inseminator work experience was 19 years. Meanwhile, the average of S/C value was 1.84 time, the CR value was 64.50%, the NRR value was 93%, and CI value with an average of 13 months. The correlation analysis showed that (X) experience and age have no significant effect (p>0,05) on the success of AI based on (Y) S/C and CR. It can be concluded that the success rate of artificial insemination of dairy cows based on S/C and CR in Lembang District was good, but the experience and age of inseminators had not affected the success of artificial insemination in Lembang District

Abstract

This research aims to determined the effect of feed adequacy on the production and quality of dairy goat milk in Turi District. This research was carried out in the field and laboratory from 01 to 24 October 2023. A total of 98 dairy goat breeders were selected as respondents with the criteria of having at least 1 year of farming experience and having at least 2 animals. From each goat they raise, milk samples are taken to test the quality in the laboratory. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively and by multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the average age of farmers is 44 years, with an education level of 86% high school graduates, the number of family dependents of 4-5 people is 67%, the majority work as farmers 52% (69% ≤10 years and 31% ≥11 years). Livestock ownership status is 100% privately owned with an average ownership of 2-5 heads. The average body weight of dairy goats was 40.13 ± 6.91 kg, with milk production of 2.21 ± 0.51 liters/day. Furthermore, the milk quality variable shows that the average specific gravity and non-fat solids are 1.055 ± 0.08 and 8.42 ± 0.43. Feed adequacy (Dry Matter) is 1.43 and Crude Protein adequacy is 7.44. Milk production was significantly (p<0.05) 52.6% influenced by the level of feed adequacy with the regression equation Y = -1.513 + 0.033XI + 0.495X2. Meanwhile, milk density was 48.5% influenced by the level of feed adequacy (p>0.05) with the regression equation Y = 1.043 + 0.073XI - 0.013X2. Likewise, the lean solitaire variable which was not significant (p>0.05) was influenced by the level of feed adequacy (0.75%) with the regression equation Y = 6.874 + 0.155XI + 0.183X2. It was concluded that the adequacy of feed for dairy goats in Turi District for production was sufficient and for milk quality it was in accordance with the 2011 SNI.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the suitability and productivity level of Bambara beans in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, especially to determine and examine the effect of the use of organic fertilizer from livestock manure on the growth and yield of Bambara beans. The implementation of the study involved a multi-location test of Bambara bean cultivation in three subdistricts, namely Tempel, Sedayu, and Cangkringan. In these three areas, manure was applied with 3 dose variations, namely 10 tons/Ha, 20 tons/ha and 30 tons/ha. The study was arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) where each treatment was carried out with 3 replication plots. The test results showed that the dose of manure was not significantly different from the production of Bambara beans. Therefore, a dose of manure of 10 tons/ha can be recommended to achieve higher economic benefits in Bambara bean cultivation. In addition, based on the evaluation of the growth phase and plant yield, the location of Bambara bean planting in Tempel gave higher yields compared to Sedayu and Cangkringan. Bambara bean cultivation in Tempel can produce 686.45 g/plot. Keywords: Bambara beans, Growth, Multilocation test, Organic fertilizer, Yield.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui skala usaha dan karakteristik peternak kambing perah di Kecamatan Turi Kabupaten Sleman. Penelitian ini masih jarang dilakukan di Kecamatan Turi, sehingga perlu dilakukan penelitian untuk memperoleh data dan informasi untuk memecahkan permasalahan peternak kambing perah. Metode: Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 25 Oktober sampai 30 November 2023. Materi penelitian adalah peternak kambing perah yang memiliki pengalaman beternak lebih dari 2 tahun sebanyak 55 peternak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survey. Variabel dalam penelitian ini meliputi umur, pendidikan, jumlah anggota keluarga, pengalaman beternak, pekerjaan, tujuan beternak dan skala usaha peternakan. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata umur peternak 45 tahun, rata-rata lama berternak 12 tahun, tingkat pendidikan peternak tamatan SD 16,4%, SMP 3,6%, SMA/SMK 80,0%, rata-rata jumlah anggota keluarga 4,5 orang, pekerjaan utama peternak sebagai buruh sebanyak 1,8%, petani 40,0%, wiraswasta 5,5%, pegawai swasta 9,1%, dan sebagai peternak 43,6%, tujuan beternak sebagian besar hanya untuk usaha sampingan sebanyak 60,0%, untuk usaha pokok sebanyak 40,0%, dan skala kepemilikan ternak terbagi menjadi tiga yakni skala kecil < 30 ekor sebanyak 60%, skala mengegah 30-60 ekor sebanyak 38,2%dan skala besar >60 sebanyak 1,8%. Kesimpulan: Disimpulkan bahwa skala usaha kambing perah di peternakan rakyat Kecamatan Turi mayoritas <30 ekor, dengan rerata umur 45 tahun, memiliki pengalaman rata-rata 12 tahun, mayoritas memiliki pendidikan sekolah menengah atas/kejuruan, serta mayoritas peternak mengusahakan kambing perah sebagai usaha sampingan.
