Abstract

This study discusses the comparative quality of democracy in the perspective of gender equality between Indonesia and Thailand. Selection of study subjects based on data ranking global democracy that puts Indonesia and Thailand as a country in Southeast Asia with the quality of democracy is not far adrift. This study uses the theory of political culture for respective internal uniqueness, the quality of democracy, gender theory and comparative politics approach using Mill's Method to analyze focus of research. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive type of analysis through literature study. The unit of analysis in this study focused on the quality of democracy in the perspective of gender equality. The unit of explanation is the comparison the quality of democracy in the perspective of gender equality Indonesia and Thailand are seen from the level of political participation of women in each country. Eachby the period between 2010 to 2014 based on internal changes that occur in both. In addition to historical comparative method is also used to acquire the common traits between the uniqueness of the community and assess long-term social change. Based on the data that has been collected relating to the history and political culture of each country, it can be said that the quality of the implementation of democracy is influenced by the historical background and internal changes. Internal change is increasingly open does not necessarily encourage democratization, it is because of the culture of political force. Eventually important role in the political system as a determinant of the quality of democracy and guarantor of democracy.

Abstract

The issue of regionalism became one of the important issues during 1992. The main issue is the economic improvement. Industry in South Korea is located in the Kyongsang are experiencing rapid economic improvement. Contrast with Cholla as an agricultural region. Social inequali-ties also become an important issue raised during the Presidential Election and elites use the local history to control society. This paper discusses the regionalism and the impact in presi-dential election in South Korea. The paper indicates the regionalism under the authoritarian military system and how the regionalism can create the political cleavage in the regional and appear to contribute in the election party. Creating the Regionalism issues influence the corre-lation between economic growth and political growth. In this point, economic growth influence by democratic transition without sentiment regional. Good levels of literacy in South Korea contribute to the formation of the social system with a better political culture.Keywords: Regionalism, election, regime.

Abstract

Abstract

This paper discusses about the analysis of the meaning of materialism in the video clip of the song "Money" sung by Lisa Blackpink from South Korea. The video clip contains the meaning of materialism by visually and the song text which shows materialism which includes material values ​​which are visualized through certain movements and the selection of diction in the lyrics sung on social media youtube on the BlackPink account. The video clip is widely played and decorates social media. Thus, this study shows the perspective of teenagers on the representation of the meaning of materialism through the video clip of the song. This study uses the semiotic triangle meaning theory which refers to the sign, object, and interpretation using a qualitative methodology using a constructivist approach through primary data collection techniques in the form of non-participant observation. and secondary data which includes library data by 20 books, 13 journals, and 10 online sources. The results of this study indicate that the representation of the meaning of materialism in the video clip of the song Money sung by Lisa BlackPink which is analyzed from the visualization of dance movements and the text of the song lyrics is divided into 7 points which include elements of money, self-centered, hedonism, consumerism, the domination of money power, hard work and happiness. All of them are analyzed by visualization of images and song texts.
