Abstract

The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months for children bornto HIV infected mothers who have received ARV therapy. This study aims to determine perceptions, behaviors, andfactors that influence breastfeeding behavior in mothers with HIV-AIDS in Yogyakarta. This study use qualitativeresearch method, with in-depth interviews and observation as data collection methods. Research subjects werebreastfeeding mothers with HIV-AIDS, family, and chaperones. Data validity was tested by source triangulationmethod. Research data were processed using the fixed comparison method. This research shows that breastfeedingmothers with HIV-AIDS in Yogyakarta believes that the process of providing nutrition to infants is the nature of awoman that can not be replaced by anyone. The behavior of breastfeeding mothers with HIV-AIDS in Yogyakartais divided into mothers who provide formula milk, breast milk, and donor breast milk. Factors that influencebreastfeeding behavior of mothers with HIV-AIDS in Yogyakarta, namely internal factors and support from family,chaperones., health workers, and peers. This research concludes that breastfeeding mothers with HIV-AIDS havereasons related to the risk of HIV transmission in deciding breastfeeding behavior.

Abstract

Marker of stress in human could be seen by increased level of cortisol in the blood. The higher level of stress, the higher cortisol level in the blood. Smoking would accelerate the release of endorphin in the central nervous system which causes a sense of happy and then stress trigger will be reduced. According to Sholeh in 2001, tahajud could reduce the level of cortisol in the human body. This study was done to understand the relationship between tahajud and smoking among students in Medical Faculty of Islamic Indonesian University (FK U/1). This was a non experimental cross sectional study. The sample in this study were students of FK U/1 in academic semester year 2010/2011. Sampling was conducted by cluster random sampling technique and sample size were 100 students. The p value was obtainedsignificant(p<0,01) that tahajud has a relationship with smoking behavior between femalo respondens, while in male repondens were not. The conclusion showed that there is a relationship between tahajud and smoking in female student.

Abstract

According to data in 2005, number of malnutrition's under 5th years children cases in NTB reach 10% from all of under 5th year children on the average 498.000 people. Amount number of malnutrition's under 5th year children can be caused of social-economy status, parent's education and knowledge about nutrition, child rearing patterns and accompanying disease. Malnutrition profile of under 5th year children is very important to know the life of malnutrition under 5th year children that seen from nutrition status, age, clinical symptom, social-economy and accompanying disease, also to know what makes it easier malnutrition and what therapy that must given to malnutntion patient. Knowing malnutrition profile in under 5th year children in North Lombok NTB in 2008 and 2009. This study is was done of subject's medical report and observation, that is under 5th year children that have malnutrition in 2008 and 2009 using z score by weight/height. This study's structured form that includes the information required in the research, that is structured form that contains required info, like identity (name, age, sex, address source of funds), accompanying diseases, clinical symptom. The data obtained were performed using Excel program, then result from that frequency distribution was shown in table and diagram. The study results that amount of malnutrition patients reach 59 patients (97%) from 59 one, the highest age who suffer from malnutrition 18-24 month (20%), accompanying diseases suffered by most of diarrhea (25%), most climcal symptom are thin (39%), he source of funds used by many is not known that is as much 52%, and patient who received additional therapy as much as that 68%. Conclusions from this study, amount number of malnutrition's under 5th year children with 18- 24 month of age that accompanied by concomitant diseases in North Lombok in 2008 and 2009 was caused by low social-economy and less parent's education and knowled#e about nutrition.

Abstract

Background: One of the most prevalent degenerative diseases is hypertension. The statistic data of Sambirejo sub-district of Sragen Regency shows that hypertension is the disease with the second largest number of patients. Research on the distribution and determinant of hypertension needs to be done to support intervention efforts.Objective: This study aims to determine the distribution and determinants of hypertension in Sambirejo sub-district, Sragen Regency.Methods: This observational study used a cross-sectional design, with descriptive analytic types. The sample was taken using a stratified random sampling technique. Blood pressure measurements using sphygmomanometer, and other data obtained from questionnaires and direct measurements. We tested the relationship between variables with Kruskal-Wallis bivariate analysis. The multivariate analysis used is Ordinal Regression. Data were statistically significant if p <0.05 (CI: 95%).Results: The study sample was 454 people. Respondents who experienced hypertension were very high at 57.2%. Hypertension is more prevalent in men, and ages 40 and above. Determinant factors of hypertension are age, gender, genetics, exercise habits, smoking habits, fruit and vegetable consumption, and body mass index. Multivariate analysis with ordinal regression test showed the factors to influence the hypertension were genetic factors (OR=4,777; 95% CI 3,232-7,059; p=0,000), smoking (OR=1,004, 95%CI: 1,003 – 1,004, p=0,0001), and body mass index. (OR=1,054; 95%CI:1,002 – 1,109, p=0,042).Conclusion: Hypertension distribution is more dominant in the male group, and =40 years of age. Determinants of hypertension are age, sex, genetics, exercise habits, smoking habits, fruit and vegetable consumption, and body mass index. Genetic factors are the dominant determinant for hypertention.

Abstract

Reproductive health education is crucial for blind adolescent, because physiologically blind adolescent experience normal development of reproductive system, function, and process. Booklet is chosen as a media for reproductive health education for blind adolescent, because it is a printed media that can accommodate text and pictures in large amount, and considering that Braille letters take 1½ - 2 times larger space compared with usual letters. This study aims to develop booklet as a reproductive health education media for blind adolescent. The research was done using qualitative method in Resource Center IX DIY and Yayasan Kesejahteraan Tuna Netra  Islam (Yaketunis) Yogyakarta. The subjects of this study were the practitioners of education printed media for blind people, teachers of blind adolescent, and blind adolescent. The instrument of this research included in-depth interview guidelines, FGD (focus group discussion) guidelines, and booklet blueprint. The booklet development included determining the objectives –which is increasing the adolescent’s reproductive health knowledge-, arranging the materials of reproductive health for booklet, and determining the basic commodities for booklet. The basic commodities used in making this booklet are 160 grams HVS paper sized 11.5 X 12 inch2 for text and 0.15 cm mica plastic for pictures. The 3-dimension forms of human reproductive organs were illustrated by two to three 2-dimension pictures from different perspectives. Texts were printed using Braille printer and pictures made of thermoform. The booklet consist of 27 pages with Rp. 48.000,00 constant cost and Rp13.750,00 variable cost. From this research, it can be concluded that booklet is developable as education media of reproductive health for blind adolescent. The basic commodities used are 160 grams HVS paper sized 11.5 X 12 inch2 and 0.15 mm mica plastic.Keyword: booklet, reproductive health, blind adolescent
