Abstract

Penyakit diabetes adalah salah satu penyakit tidak menular (PTM) yang sering diderita oleh masyarakat Indonesia. Salah satu penyebab diabetes melitus (DM) adalah gaya hidup dan pola konsumsi yang kurang baik. Berdasarkan hal tersebut diperlukan suatu upaya penyuluhan konsumsi pangan lokal untuk penderita diabetes di desa Dilem, Kepanjen, Malang. Tujuan penyuluhan adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat desa Dilem mengenai diabetes melitus dan upaya pencegahan melalui konsumsi pangan lokal. Metode penyuluhan dengan ceramah, menggunakan media leaflet. Hasil program penyuluhan ini mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat desa Dilem mengenai pentingnya menjaga pola makan, pola konsumsi pangan lokal agar terhindar dari komplikasi penyakit diabetes melitus sebesar 50%. Kesimpulan yang dapat diambil perlu penelitian lebih lanjut untuk mengetahui sikap dan perilaku masyarakat yang telah meningkat pengetahuannya akan diabetes melitus.

Abstract

Data from Kepanjen Health Center in Malang Regency in 2017, especially in the Cempokomulyo village, shows that 5.3% of children under five suffer from severe malnutrition and 3.5% suffer from malnutrition. While in the Jatirejoyoso village shows that 3.4% of toddlers experience malnutrition. One of the factors that influence the incidence of malnutrition is the lack of access to care and information for mothers of infants and the lack of initiative and skills of posyandu cadres. The provision of information, motivation and skills needed by cadres and mothers of children under five are considered as one step in nutrition recovery. The purpose of this activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of cadres and mothers of toddlers. Nutrition training was given to cadres and mothers of toddlers, namely measuring nutritional status, feeding infants and children, breastfeeding practices, detection of growth and development of nutrition recovery at the posyandu level. The results of this activity indicate that there is an increase in the knowledge of cadres and mothers of infants, at pretest 10% of knowledge is good and 5% of knowledge is lacking and at the time of posttest it is 85% of knowledge is good and 15% is sufficient. In addition, there was an increase in the skills of cadres and mothers of toddlers, at pretest 75% of their skills were sufficient and 25% of their skills were lacking and at posttest they were 90% of good skills and 10% were sufficient. Thus it can be concluded that there is an increase in the knowledge and skills of cadres and mothers of toddlers to be mostly good. Posyandu cadres and toddler mothers are expected to be able to carry out nutritional recovery at the follow-up phase at the posyandu level. Abstract

Background: Epidemiological studies indicate that the global prevalence of obesity has increased. Glucomannan is a water-soluble, non-starch polysaccharide, known as soluble fiber. Glucomannan has the ability to lower blood cholesterol levels and blood glucose levels, weight loss and affects the activity of intestinal and immune system function.Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of glucomannan derived from konjac flour as antiobesity agent on body weight and food intake in rats induced by high-fat diet.Method: Research was conducted in the Pharmacology Laboratory, Faculty of Medicine, University of Brawijaya. This study uses a true experimental research design. Animals were divided into six groups, normal group, normal + konjac flour, obese group, obese group + konjac flour 100 mg/kg body weight, obese group + konjac flour 200 mg/kg body weight, obese group + konjac flour 400 mg/kg.Results: Based on One-way ANOVA test, there is a significant difference (p: 0.000) on body weight after konjac flour treatment in all groups. Based on the Kruskal-Wallis test, there is a difference in food intake in various groups (p = 0.000).Conclusion: It can be concluded that glucomannan derived from konjac flour can decrease body weight and food intake in rats induced by high-fat diet.

Abstract

Cholesterol total level is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Mung beans contain soluble fiber and isoflavones that decrease cholesterol levels. The aim of this research is to find out the potency of mung beans juice to decrease total cholesterol total level of hypercholesterol woman. Research design was quasi experimental with pretest - posttest control group. The subjects were 34 women with hypercholesterolemia, and divided into two groups ie 17 womens in Penarukan Village which is treatment group and 17 womens in Ketapang Village which is control groups. All the subjects have met the inclusion criteria. The treatment group consumed juice of 300 ml/day for 14 days while the control group did not get juice. It was a single blind treatment. Cholesterol total level measurement used Electrode Based Biosensor and CHOD-PAP methods. The mean of cholesterol total level of control group before and after was increasing 5,7% ie 240,1 mg/dl and 253,9 mg/dl, but intervention group was decreasing 11% ie 220 mg/dl and 195,7 mg/dl. Paired t-test result shows that there is a significant difference between total cholesterol levels before and after in the treatment group and control group (p= 0.000). The conclusion of this research is the provision of mung beans juice 300 ml/day for 14 days reduce total cholesterol levels. Abstract

Background: Stunted in under two years children have the potential to suffer a decrease in intellectual ability, productivity disorder, and an increased the risk of degenerative diseases in the future.   Objectives: This study aims to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge of nutrition and protein consumption pattern based on local food in stunted under two years children.   Methods: The design of this research is Cross Sectional. Purposive sampling method obtained 35 subjects, Maternal knowledge of nutrition is measured by using a questionnaire, protein consumption patterns is measured by using the Semi FFQ form. Spearman Product Moment Test is used to bivariate test.   Results: There is no correlation between maternal knowledge of nutrition and local food-based protein adequacy in stunted under two years children (p = 0.214 > 0.05). Further test showed that there was a significant relationship between maternal knowledge of nutrition and the frequency of protein consumption patterns based on local foods with p= 0.023 (p< 0.05) with r= 0.384.   Conclusions: Maternal knowledge of nutrition as a determinant factor that affect the frequency of animal protein consumption based on local foods in stunted under two years children.

Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (KEK) in adolescent girls is one nutritional problem with a high prevalence in Indonesia at 2018 namely 14.5%. One of the causes is wrong eating behavior, based on knowledge and attitude nutrition who lack. The alternative to increase knowledge and attitudes isthrough nutrition education. This research was conducted to analyze the effect of nutrition education on KEK using media whatsapp group to increasing knowledge and attitudes of adolescent girls at SMPN 21 PPU. The research design uses quasi-experimental with group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study was determined based on convenience sampling technique so that 40 respondents were obtained. Wilcoxon test results indicate that there is an influence of nutrition education on increasing knowledge of adolescent girls  (p = 0,000). Wilcoxon test results indicate that there is no effect of nutrition education on improving attitudes of adolescent girls  (p = 0.936). The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of nutrition education on KEK using media whatsapp group toincreasing the knowledge of adolescent girls at SMPN 21 PPU Kaltim, but there is no effect of nutrition education on KEK using media whatsapp group to improving attitudes of adolescent girls at SMPN 21 PPU Kaltim. Based on this, further research is needed to improve attitudes and behavior of foodconsumption in order to avoid KEK.Keywords: KEK, Whatsapp Group, Knowledge, Attitude, Adolescent Girls

Abstract

ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Salah satu permasalahan gizi yang sering terjadi pada remaja adalah kurang energi kronis. Temulawak dan kunyit secara turun-temurun telah digunakan untuk terapi menaikkan berat badan dengan cara meningkatkan nafsu makan. Melalui kandungan karminativum dari minyak atsiri yang ada dalam rimpang temulawak dan kunyit.Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh konsumsi minuman serbuk temulawak dan kunyit terhadap pola makan dan berat badan pada usia remaja. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi eksperimental. Sampel penelitian adalah santriwati Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Jannah Malang, sebanyak 45 responden yang terbagi menjadi 3 kelompok yaitu P0 (kontrol/tidak diberikan apapun), P1 (20 gr bubuk temulawak), dan P2 (5 gr bubuk kunyit). Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Bubuk temulawak dan kunyit dilarutkan dalam 125cc air dan diberikan selama 14 hari. Pola makan dan berat badan responden setelah perlakuan diukur menggunakan metode Semi Quantitative - Food Frequency Questionnaire dan pengukuran langsung dengan timbangan digital. Data hasil pengukuran dilanjutkan dengan analisis statistika menggunakan uji wilcoxon signed ranks test Untuk melihat perbedaan pola makan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Serta uji paired t test untuk melihat perbedaan berat badan antara sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan.Hasil: Dari hasil Uji Wilcoxon didapatkan bahwa pada kelompok kontrol dan kunyit tidak ada perbedaan nyata skor pola makan sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan (p>0,05), sedangkan pada kelompok temulawak terdapat perbedaan nyata (p<0,05). Hasil Uji t test paired pada kelompok temulawak menunjukkan perbedaan berat badan yang bermakna antara sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan sedangkan pada kelompok kunyit dan kontrol tidak ada perbedaan (p>0,05).Kesimpulan: Pemberian minuman serbuk temulawak efektif dalam memperbaiki pola makan dan meningkatkan berat badan pada usia remaja.. KATA KUNCI: berat badan; kunyit; nafsu makan; temulawak ABSTRACTBackground: One of the nutritional problems that often occurs in teenagers is a chronic lack of energy. Temulawak and turmeric have been used for generations as a therapy to gain weight by increasing appetite, through the karminativum content of essential oils in the rhizomes.Objectives: This study aims to analyze the effect of temulawak and turmeric powder drink consumption on adolescents' dietary patterns and weight. Methods: This research design uses quasi-experimental. The population and sample of this study were female students of Miftahul Jannah Islamic Boarding School Malang, as many as 45 respondents were divided into 3 groups P0 (control), P1 (20 grams of ginger), and P2 (5 grams of turmeric). The sampling technique used is non-purposive sampling. The research instrument used the semi Quantitative – Food Frequency Questionnaire method and measured body weight using digital scales. The measurement data was followed by statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test to see differences in eating patterns before and after treatment. As well as the Paired T-Test to see the difference in body weight between before and after treatment.Results: From the results of the Wilcoxon test, it was found that in the control and turmeric groups, there was no significant difference in dietary pattern score (frequency and variation) before and after being given treatment (p>0.05), while in the temulawak group, there was a difference (p<0.05). Results of the paired t-test the temulawak group had a significant difference in body weight between before and after treatment, while the turmeric and control groups had no difference (p> 0.05).Conclusions: Giving temulawak powder drinks is effective in increasing dietary patterns and body weight in adolescents.KEYWORD: appetite; temulawak; turmeric; weight
