Abstract

This research study aims to: 1) design audio-visual media for the teaching and learning process for junior high school science lessons and 2) use audio-visual media modules in the teaching and learning process for junior high school science lessons in suburb areas. The research method used is a type of research and development method or Research and Development (R&D). This research and development model uses stages that have been adapted through the stages of analysis, design, product development, and 4) validation (Borg and Gall, 1983: 772). The development stage begins with the production stage which produces the initial product, then validation is carried out by media experts, technology experts, and material experts and repeated validation after revision. The research data was obtained through instruments in the form of assessment sheets/validation by media experts, technological experts, and material experts which consisted of a number of assessment aspects. This study reports that 1) the design of audio-visual media for the teaching and learning process for junior high school science lessons has a very good level of feasibility (90, 29%) and 2) the module for using audio-visual media also has a very good level of feasibility (91, 14%). This research recommends that audio-visual media designs and audio-visual media use modules can be used in the science teaching and learning process at the junior high school level in suburb areas, especially in the subject of Food Digestion in Humans. Keyword: Research and Development, Audio-visual Media Design, Module Usage

Abstract

The industrial revolution from 4.0 to 5.0 has recently made it easier for humans to complete their tasks optimally in all fields. With the help of this high industry everything can be done automatically. This can also be done in the learning process at school. In the learning process at school, this latest computerized industrial revolution has made it easy for a teacher to use interactive power point learning media in presenting his learning material. This interactive power point media in theory if it can be designed and used properly will be able to increase student motivation, interest and learning outcomes. This is because this computer-based media can present concise learning material in the form of slides that are attractive and easy to understand. Many studies on this subject have been carried out in schools, all of which yield positive values, namely that they can significantly increase student motivation, interest, enjoyment and learning outcomes. Therefore it is highly recommended for all teachers to learn to create interactive power point learning media and use them in learning in this digital era.

Abstract

The School Committee is an independent institution comprised of parents/guardians of students, the school community, community leaders, and education experts who are committed to education. This article outlines the importance of revitalizing the role and contribution that the School Committee must provide in improving the quality of education. The School Committee serves as a bridge between the school and the community, and how their involvement can help achieve better educational goals is discussed. Through comprehensive analysis, this article highlights the importance of the School Committee's involvement in formulating policies, suring transparency, and raising funds for education. Additionally, indicators of the School Committee's involvement in improving the quality of education are presented, including aspects of education quality and relevance, equalization and expansion of education, and educational management. The School Committee can be a platform capable of bringing about significant changes in the education system, and it provides a clear view of how the success of schools can be evaluated according to national education standards. The involvement of the School Committee is considered as a factor in efforts to realize quality education services for all students.

Abstract

Pendidikan pada hakikatnya bertujuan agar seseorang mampu memahami dan menyelesaikan permasalahan dalam hidupnya. Permasalahan-permasalahan itu mudah diselesaikan jika seseorang mampu memahami permasalahan tersebut dari berbagai sudut pandang. Model pembelajaran inquiry dan discovery learning merupakan salah satu diantara sekian banyak model-model pembelajaran yang dapat menumbuhkan keterampilan berfikir kritis. Dengan berfikir kritis seseorang mampumenyelesaikan suatu permasalahan dengan banyak cara. Hal ini memberikan manfaat yang besar kepada dirinya dibandingkan dengan orang yang tidak mampu berfikir kritis. Dalam proses pembelajaran keterampilan berfikir kritis dapat ditumbuhkan melalui pembelajaran tematik, latihan-latihan yang memerlukan pemikiran tinggi, pertanyaan-pertanyaan terbukan (opened ended questions) dan model pembelajaran yang ditemani oleh tutor sebaya atau fostering community of learners (FCL).Temayang diberikan kepada siswa pada pembelajaran model FCL ini harus menantang bagi siswa namun sesuai dengan daerah perkembangan kognitif dan bahasa terdekat siswa (Zoneof Proximal Development). Menurut konsep Vygotsky ini pembelajaran terjadi apabila siswa belajar sesuatu yang masih berada pada jangkauan kognitifnya.

Abstract

The use of appropriate media is a way to overcome and minimize low student achievement. Mathematics is a subject that will certainly feel difficult if taught monotonously. Preliminary study results on March 6, 2023, showed that learning outcomes in class IV-A at MIN 26 Aceh Besar were still low, as indicated by only 6 students (21%) out of 28 achieving scores above 73. Thus, the difficulty of mathematics can be used as a benchmark for low student achievement. This study used Classroom Action Research (CAR) with three cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data was collected through observation and testing, then analyzed using percentage formulas. The instruments used in this study were observation sheets and tests. The results showed an improvement: before entering the cycles, a diagnostic test was conducted with a score of 10.71%, followed by Cycle I with a score of 75%, increasing to 85.71% in Cycle II, and further increasing to 89.28% in Cycle III. Finally, a post-test was conducted, yielding a score of 92.85%. Teacher activity scored 68.18% in Cycle I, increased to 77.08% in Cycle II, and further increased to 87.5% in Cycle III. Student activity results were 60% in Cycle I, increased to 70.90% in Cycle II, and increased to 86.81% in Cycle III. Ultimately, it can be concluded that the use of multifunctional board media can improve student learning outcomes in grade IV.Keywords: Multifunctional Board Media, The Learning Outcomes.

Abstract

Pembelajaran Kontekstual (Contextual Teaching and Learning/CTL) adalah pendekatan pendidikan yang dirancang untuk membantu guru menghubungkan konten pembelajaran dengan konteks dunia nyata. Pendekatan ini sangat penting untuk mengatasi masalah umum dalam memandang pengetahuan hanya sebagai rangkaian fakta yang harus dihafal. Dalam kelas tradisional, di mana guru sering mendominasi proses pembelajaran, siswa cenderung kurang aktif dan kurang kreatif. CTL mengubah dinamika ini dengan mendorong siswa untuk secara aktif terlibat dalam menemukan pengalaman belajar mereka sendiri, dibandingkan dengan mengandalkan hafalan semata. Pendekatan ini menekankan keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam mencari dan mengeksplorasi materi pembelajaran, sehingga mendukung pemahaman dan retensi yang lebih mendalam. Selain itu, CTL membantu siswa menerapkan apa yang mereka pelajari ke situasi kehidupan nyata, yang tidak hanya meningkatkan pemahaman tetapi juga membentuk karakter dan perilaku yang baik dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Reading ability is one of the language skills that every student must master. To a certain extent, reading ability becomes a basic ability that can be used to analyze certain information or data. This research aims to improve elementary school students' initial reading abilities. The type of research used is classroom action research. The subjects of this research were elementary school students. Data collection was carried out using observation and test techniques. The data obtained was then analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques. The research results show that the SAS method assisted by picture story books can improve elementary school students' initial reading abilities. This can be seen from the results of the first cycle which reached 65.38%, then increased in the second cycle to 76.92% and finally to 84.61% in the third cycle. Below is a diagram of the achievements in each cycle. Therefore, the SAS method assisted by picture story books can be used as a reference that can be used in learning Indonesian at the elementary school level, especially in terms of improving beginning reading skills
