Abstract

Improving The Quality of Chicken Feather Compost by Addition of Rice Husk or Kepok Banana Peels. Waste is one of residu materials that from human activities and often has a negative value. The purpose of this study was to determine nutrient content compost made from chicken feather waste with kepok banana peels addition and rice husk waste with EM4 activator addition to meet Indonesian National Standard (19 – 7030 – 2004). This research was conducted in experimental garden and research of the Faculty of Agriculture, Fisheries and Biology and PT. Socfindo Indonesia laboratories from January 2020 to April 2020. The research used experimental method with a complete randomized design (CRD). The treatment consisted of 4 level of treatments with 3 replications and 12 trials unit. Each unit was replicated duplo and total sample was 24. Analysis quality compost consists of   compost temperature, compost colour, pH, C/N Ratio, C-Organic, N, P, K, Mg, Fe and Ca content. All treatments on chicken feater compost, rice husks and banana peels with EM4 activators addition can meet the qualify of Indonesian national standard. The best result was on chicken feater compost with kepok banana peels addition.Keywords: chicken feater compost, kepok banana peels, rice husks, EM4 Activator.  ABSTRAK                                                                                                                                   Limbah merupakan salah satu bahan sisa dari aktivitas manusia dan sering kali memiliki nilai negatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kadar unsur hara pada kompos berbahan dasar limbah bulu ayam dengan penambahan sekam padi atau limbah kulit pisang kepok dengan penambahan aktivator EM4 untuk mencapai kualitas Standar Nasional Indonesia untuk kompos (19 – 7030 – 2004). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari bulan Januari 2019 – April 2020 di kebun percobaan dan penelitian Fakultas Pertanian, Perikanan, dan Biologi Universitas Bangka Belitung, Provinsi Bangka Belitung dan Laboratorium PT. Socfindo Indonesia, Medan. Metode percobaan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), terdiri dari 4 taraf perlakuan dengan 3 pengulangan untuk setiap taraf. Analisis sampel untuk setiap unit percobaan dilakukan secara duplo. Peubah untuk uji kualitas kompos terdiri dari suhu kompos, warna kompos, kadar  pH, C/N Rasio, C-organik, N, P, K, Mg, Fe, dan Ca. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa semua perlakuan pada kompos bulu ayam yang dicampur sekam padi atau kulit pisang kapok yang dicampur dengan aktivator EM4, memenuhi kualitas Standar Nasional Indonesia untuk kompos organik. Kualitas kompos bulu ayam terbaik adalah proses pengomposan yang dicampur dengan kulit pisang kepok. Kata kunci: kompos bulu ayam, kulit pisang kepok, sekam padi, activator EM4.

Abstract

Efektivitas bintil akar kedelai edamame dipengaruhi oleh penggunaan pupuk sebagai sumber energi mikroba. Pemanfaatan kompos tandan kosong kelapa sawit (TKKS) merupakan solusi alternatif pupuk organik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kompos TKKS terhadap efektivitas bintil akar dan perkembangan fase generatif edamame di tailing pasca tambang timah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan tiga ulangan. Perlakuan kompos terdiri atas tujuh taraf, yaitu: K0 (tanpa kompos TKKS dan legin), K1 (10 t ha-1), K2 (15 t ha-1), K3 (20 t ha-1), K4 (25 t ha-1), K5 (30 t ha-1)dan Legin. Hasil penelitian penggunaan kompos tandan kosong kelapa sawit dapat meningkatkan efektivitas bintil akar dan perkembangan fase generatif edamame di tailing pasir pasca tambang timah. Persentase bintil akar efektif, jumlah polong dan bobot polong terbanyak pada perlakuan 20 t ha-1. ABSTRACT Edamame soybean nodule effectivity was influenced by the optimalization of fertilizer as a microbial energy sources. Utilization of palm oil empty fruit bunch compost (POEFBC) is an alternative solution for organic fertilizer. This study was to determine the effect of POEFBC on root nodules effectivity and edamame soybean generative stage in sandy tailing post tin mining. Experimental method used Randomized Block Design with three replications. The treatments consist of seven levels i.e. K0 (without POEFBC and legin), K1 (10 t ha-1), K2 (15 t ha-1), K3 (20 t ha-1), K4 (25 t ha-1), K5 (30 t ha-1) and Legin. The results showed that the use of palm oil empty fruit bunches compost can increase the activity of edamame soybean root nodules and develop the generative stage of edamame in sandy tailing post tin mining. The treatment 20 t ha-1 showed the best treatment for the effective percentage of root nodules, number of pods and pod weight.

Abstract

Hydroponic vegetable cultivation for PKK mothers aims to produce safe household-scale vegetables. This activity was an opportunity for the community to increase income. Community service activities were carried out in Pagarawan Village, Merawang Subdistrict, Bangka District in May–August 2018. The purpose of community service activities was to provide counseling and training on plant cultivation with a hydroponic system. Kind of vegetables that are cultivated are mustard greens. The hydroponic system that was socialized to participants was a floating and flowing hydroponic system using a wick. The results of a survey to training participants showed that 38.46 strongly agreed, 61.54 agreed, and 0 disagreed with hydroponic vegetable cultivation. The results of SWOT analysis showed that to increased community motivation in conducting hydroponic crop cultivation there needs a capital/investment, support from academics, and the government. The results of analysis of mustard greens farming in hydroponics require an initial capital of IDR 2,016,000, a profit of IDR 502,570/month, and venture capital can be returned within 4 months. The hydroponic plant system is very good to be developed because besides being able to meet the needs of vegetables for the household it can also increase family income.

Palembang: Unsri Press.Edamame soybean (Glycine max L) growth and development on post tin mining land can be improves by adding some ameliorant. The aim of this research is to determine the ameliorant effects on edamame growth and generative development in post tin mining land. This research used experimental method with randomized block design (RBD). The treatment consisted of ameliorant factor, there were without ameliorant as control (A0), palm oil solid (A1), cow manure (A2), rice straw (A3) and goat manure (A4).  The research conducted on Desember 2018 until March 2019, located on 17th years post tin mining land at Dwi Makmur Village, Merawang Sub-District, Bangka Induk District, Kepulauan Bangka Belitung Province. The result showed that ameliorant can improved post tin mining land pH. As a vegetative phase, palm oil solid showed the best effect on plant height and leaf number. Adding ameliorant can caused early flowering compared with control treatment. Goat manure had best effect on edamame yield, can be seen on pods number and pods weight. To improve soil quality, amelioration was carried out using compost of oil palm empty bunches (OPEFB). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of OPEFB compost dosage on post-tin mining sand tailings on the growth of shrub pepper and to obtain the proper OPEFB compost dose. This study used an experimental method with a single randomized block design (RBD). The factors studied were the dosage of OPEFB compost consisting of 2 tonnes/ha, 4 tonnes/ha, 6 tonnes/ha, 8 tonnes/ha, 10 tonnes/ha and 12 tonnes/ha. The data obtained were tested with ANOVA α = 5% and DMRT α 5%. The results showed that the dosage of OPEFB compost had a significant effect on the increase in stem diameter, but had no significant effect on the variables of increase in the number of leaves, the number of secondary branches, the increase in the number of internodes, the chlorophyll content, and the leaf area of the pepper shrub. Abstract

The development of technology has experienced many advances, one of which is the processing of chemical compounds into drugs that can cure various diseases. However, the use of chemical drugs is considered to have side effects on health so that people switch to herbal medicines that are more natural and have minimal side effects such as the use of family medicinal plants (TOGA). Pagarawan Village is one of the villages that has great potential to be developed as a family medicinal plant (TOGA) producing village. The main problem faced by the community of Pagarawan Village, Merawang Subdistrict, Bangka Regency is the lack of knowledge about the types of plants that have medicinal properties. Therefore, it is necessary to provide education through the introduction and utilization of home yards for TOGA and TOGA Labeling. Family medicinal plants (TOGA) are plants that have benefits and properties that are good for health and are planted in the yard to meet family medicinal needs. The purpose of this activity is to provide education and understanding to the community about the utilization of yard land as a place for planting TOGA in order to provide family herbal medicine. This activity was carried out on August 16, 2021 to October 25, 2021, located in Pagarawan Village, Merawang District, Bangka Regency. This community service activity involves various parties including Pagarawan Village Office Employees, Merawang District, Bangka Regency, the community and KKN students. The activity began with the utilization of an empty yard located behind the Pagarawan Village Office. This is because the Village Office is one of the community service centers, so it is expected to be an example for the local community. The availability of TOGA in Pagarawan Village is expected to help the community in utilizing TOGA for health.

Application of pineapple skin liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) is one of the ingredients that can improve the properties of sandy soil as a medium for plant growth. This research aimed to know the effect of pineapple skin liquid organic fertilizer to growth and yield of peanut in post-tin mining land. This research was conducted in the post-mining tin land Reclamation Air jangkang PT Timah Tbk, Merawang District, Bangka Regency. This research used a Randomied block Design (RBD) with control NPK Phonska 15:15:15 (P0), POC 35 mL (P1),POC 65 mL (P2), POC 95 mL (P3), POC 125 mL (P4), and  (POC 150 mL (P5 and repeated 4 times. The data was analyzed by using the F test with 95% significant level, then proceed with the LSD test α = 95%. The results show that the liquid organic fertilizer of pineapple skin did not gave significant effect on the growth and yield of peanut plants with an-organic fertilizer. It show that application of liquid organic fertilizer pineapple skin has potential to replace the usage of NPK Phonska 15:15:15 in post-tin mining land The best concentration for yield of peanut was highest dose 35 mL.

Abstract

The negative impact of tin mining is that it can decrease the productivity of land functions for plant growth. Efforts to improve the soil that can be offered biologically by obtaining potential microbes such as Azotobacter and Azospirillum bacteria. This study aims to count up the population and to isolate and characterize Azotobacter and Azospirillum bacteria of pepper crop rhizosphere in ex-tin mined soil. The research site is Air Duren Village, Bangka Regency and Mesu Village, Central Bangka Regency. The research methods used are soil sampling, isolation, morphological and physiological characterization of biochemistry. The results showed the highest number of Azotobacter and Azospirillum bacterial populations found in the location of Mesu Village. Also obtained seven isolates that lead to the genus Azotobacter with isolate codes TMT6U3, TMT6U2, TST6U1, TST6U3, TMT7U3 and genus Azospirillum isolate code TST5U1, TST6U2 which are gram rods negative bacteria. The seven isolates show resistant to heavy metal Pb, not pathogen to plants, animals and humans. Keywords: Azotobacter and Azospirillum bacteria; pepper; ex tin-mined soil AbstrakDampak negatif dari penambangan timah yaitu dapat menurunkan produktivitas fungsi lahan bagi pertumbuhan tanaman. Upaya perbaikan tanah yang dapat ditawarkan yaitu secara biologi dengan mendapatkan mikroba potensial seperti bakteri Azotobacter dan Azospirillum. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghitung jumlah populasi dan mengkarakterisasi bakteri Azotobacter dan Azospirillum asal rizosfer tanaman lada di lahan bekas tambang timah. Lokasi penelitian ini adalah Desa Air Duren, Kabupaten Bangka dan Desa Mesu, Kabupaten Bangka Tengah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pengambilan sampel tanah, isolasi, karakterisasi morfologi dan fisiologis biokimia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jumlah populasi bakteri Azotobacter dan Azospirillum tertinggi terdapat pada lokasi Desa Mesu. Dari hasi penelitian juga diperoleh tujuh isolat yang mengarah pada genus Azotobacter dengan kode isolat TMT6U3, TMT6U2, TST6U1, TST6U3, TMT7U3 dan genus Azospirillum kode isolat TST5U1, TST6U2 yang merupakan bakteri Gram negatif berbentuk batang. Ketujuh isolat tersebut menunjukkan bakteri resisten terhadap logam berat Pb, tidak patogen terhadap tumbuhan, hewan dan manusia.Kata kunci: bakteri Azotobacter dan Azospirillum; lada; lahan bekas tambang timah
