Abstract

AbstractFemale workers in a family have two role as breadwinners and provide education to children. One of the education that they should teach children is economic education. This study aims 1) to describe the role of female workers of Minangkabau culinary businesses in family economic education, and 2) describe the way family economic education is carried out by female workers of Minangkabau culinary businesses to shape children's economic behavior. This research uses a qualitative approach with this type of phenomenological research. Data collection techniques are conducted with in-depth interviews, participation observations, and documentation. The research informant is female workers of Minangkabau culinary business in Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra Province. Data analysis technique uses the process of qualitative research data analysis Miles, Huberman, & Saldana consisting of four activities namely (1) data collection, (2) data condensation, (3) data display, and (4) conclusion: drawing and verifyng. The results showed that 1) female workers of Minangkabau culinary businesses play a role in family economic education as the first person to provide economic education to children, and 2) female workers of Minangkabau culinary businesses do family economic education by telling stories to children, habituation, and exemplaryness. The results of this study can be used as guidelines in conducting family economic education to shape children's economic behavior.Keywords: family economic education, Minangkabau culinary business, female worker, economic behavior.

Abstract

Youth empowerment is a crucial issue in national development, particularly in reducing unemployment and increasing their involvement in the economy. In Padang City, the Open Unemployment Rate reached 9.8% in 2024, the highest in West Sumatra Province, contributing to the rise in drug cases, brawls, and gambling in several areas, including Ulak Karang Selatan Village. As a solution, a Community Service program was initiated to empower Karang Taruna (Youth Organization). This program aims to increase the capacity of youth through skills training, namely making contemporary flower boards, to support their economic independence. The approach offered is conducting training and mentoring activities during the service activities. The methods used in the training are lectures, discussions, questions and answers, practice, and guidance. The results of this PKM activity are an increase in participants' understanding of the flower board business and digital marketing. Participants are now able to arrange flowers on acrylic boards, create social media and promotional content to market the flower boards they produce.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis pengaruh budaya etnis Tionghoa serta locus of control terhadap perilaku wirausaha pada wirausaha etnis Tionghoa di Kelurahan Kampung Pondok. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan teknik pengambilan sampel berupa total sampling, sehingga seluruh populasi berjumlah 88 responden dijadikan sebagai sampel penelitian. Data diperoleh menggunakan kuesioner, kemudian dianalisis dengan metode regresi linear berganda menggunakan perangkat lunak SPSS versi 26. Hasil uji parsial menunjukkan bahwa budaya etnis Tionghoa (t = 3,732; sig = 0,000) dan locus of control (t = 2,075; sig = 0,041) berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap perilaku wirausaha. Secara simultan, kedua variabel juga berpengaruh signifikan (F = 19,566; sig = 0,000). Nilai Adjusted R² sebesar 0,299 menunjukkan bahwa 29,9% variasi perilaku wirausaha dapat dijelaskan oleh kedua variabel tersebut. Hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa penguatan nilai budaya yang positif serta peningkatan locus of control internal berperan penting dalam mendorong perilaku wirausaha yang adaptif dan berorientasi pada keberhasilan usaha.
