Abstract

Stunting or also known as "short" is a condition of failure to thrive in children under five due to chronic malnutrition, especially in the first 1,000 days of life. The condition of stunting in infancy can cause developmental disorders of cognitive and psychomotor functions and decreased productivity as adults (Ramayanus, et al., 2018). Based on a UNICEF report in Indonesia, an estimated 7.8 million children under five years of age are stunted. Indonesia is one of the top 5 countries with a high number of children under the age of five who are stunted. The results of the 2015 Nutrition Status Monitoring (PSG) in Indonesia showed that the prevalence of stunting children aged 0-23 months was 23.1%. Based on a survey through interviews with parents of students at PAUD ANNA Husada, it was found that many parents of PAUD Anna Husada’s students still did not know about the prevention of stunting and early detection of stunting. Participants in this activity were 35 mothers and 35 toddlers, PAUD Anna Husada, who participated in training activities and early detection of growth and development. While participating in the activity, the mother was very enthusiastic about the material presented. She was also able to take height measurements and enter into tables to detect stunting. The results of early detection of stunting were found that 5 children under the short category and 1 under the very short category. Mothers also understand the concept of preventing stunting through lactation management and complementary feeding.

Abstract

Severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus 2 (SARSCOV-2) or more familiarly known as Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) is a worldwide epidemic that causes chaos in various aspects of life. The impact of COVID-19 is not only felt physically and biologically, but can also have a psycho, social, cultural, economic, political and spiritual impact. In general, the perspective of the Madurese community is divided into two groups, namely people who believe and accept the existence of COVID-19 and people who refuse, do not believe and are ignorant. In the first group, the public really understands well the Covid-19 phenomenon and adheres to prevention protocols and everything related to government programs in preventive efforts. However, in the second group, people have a tendency to distrust the existence of COVID-19 and have low adherence to health protocols. Meanwhile, the special character of the Madurese community is very high obedience, one of which is applied through a philosophy with the term "ngabuleh" especially to the kyai or teacher of the Koran. This is a potential space that can be empowered so that in the future all forms of information that support the welfare of the health sector can be accepted and applied by the Madurese community. One of the strategies is through training on mental health and psychosocial support (DKJPS). The method used in the implementation of community service starts from the DKJPS training, the application by the participants and their families for 8 weeks, then evaluation of the implementation in a formative and summative manner. The result is that the DKJPS training and application during the Covid-19 pandemic tends to be able to change people's behavior in a more constructive direction in the health sector. Several applications have been implemented well and are expected to continue to run, while some DKJPS applications still require internalization and collaboration with many parties so that healthy messages are conveyed in a persuasive and easy manner by the Madurese community who are thick with culture and spirituality.

Abstract

Background: Stunting is a state of malnutrition associated with past nutritional insufficiency so that it is included in a chronic nutritional problem. Based on data from a study on nutritional status in Indonesia in 2021, the prevalence of stunting in Bangkalan Regency is the highest among other districts in East Java, namely 38.9%, while the incidence of stunting in Indonesia is 24% (SSGI, 2021). This shows that there are high cases of stunting among toddlers in East Java, especially in Bangkalan.Purpose: This study aims to develop a model of attachment behavior for mothers in stunting prevention care in Bangkalan Regency. Methods: The research design used was analytic observational with a cross-sectional approach. The sample size is 190 mothers who have stunted children. Technical sampling using multistage random sampling and proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Latent variables (Variable X) in this study were attitude, personal agency, knowledge, maternal parenting intentions, environmental barriers, and habits, and the dependent variable (Y) in this study was the mother's attachment behavior with 19 observed variables or indicators. The analysis technique used is SEM-PLS. Results: The latent variables that have significance for the attachment behavior of mothers in stunting prevention care are knowledge and intentions. The attitude variable directly and significantly influences the mother's attitude in forming intentions that lead to attachment behavior of the mother in caring for stunting prevention in children under two years old. Mothers who have high intentions to care for their children will be followed by concrete actions in the form of attachment behavior in the form of stunting prevention care. Mothers who have good knowledge about how to prevent stunting, the causes of stunting, and the short-term or long-term effects of stunting will move the mother and attach the mother to her baby. Attitude is one of the factors that influence the formation of a mother's intention in the behavior of a mother's caring attachment to her child. Conclusion: Knowledge and intention variables shape mother's attachment behavior in stunting prevention care. Mother's attitude influences the mother's intention in attachment behavior in stunting prevention care.
