Abstract

Abstract. The mining system of PT. Prima Delin Agro Permai applies an open pit system. The open mining system it is really affected by the weather, of the reasons is when it’s raining. Mining that applies an open pit system required to have a good pit drainage plan to prevent the puddle on the mining front so it can be interfere with the mining process. The purpose of this research to analyze the pump needs, and design the dimension of sump and the open channels. The recommendations they are 1 recommendation. Recommended to add 1 unit pump become 6 units pumps by fixing one unit that has broken. Recommendation number 2, the diversion channel that can minimized the runoff with the slop on the bottom channel (S) = 0, 30%, width of the channel (b) = 0, 5 m, the height of the channel (H) = 0,625 m and the cross sectional area (A) =0,375 m². The third (III) recommendation, the dimension of sump which the optimal one to accommodate the total water discharge, with a maximum volume on 21, 512 m³, the plan based on the needs to get the dimension of the sump with the length of the surface of the wells and the width of the surface of 69 m. The length of the bottom and the width of the bottom of the well is 62 m with a depth of 5 m.Keywords: Mine drain system, Mining front, Pumps, Open channels, Sump

Abstract

Mining activities contribute to air pollution, water contamination, and other environmental disturbances that negatively impact surrounding communities. This study aims to review the Willingness to Accept (WTA) approach in measuring compensation for such environmental damages and to examine the factors influencing the magnitude of WTA values based on previous studies. Using a literature review method, this study analyzes research findings that employ the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) in the context of mining and environmental pollution. The results indicate that WTA values vary widely depending on regional characteristics, types of pollution, and the socio-economic conditions of the affected communities. Factors such as land area, education level, number of dependents, and distance from the pollution source significantly influence the compensation value. This review highlights that WTA is a relevant approach for formulating fair and evidence-based environmental compensation policies.

Abstract

Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) is one of the most serious environmental impacts of mining activities, especially coal mining. It is characterized by low pH and high concentrations of heavy metals such as Fe, Mn, and Cr. This study aims to analyze a phytoremediation-based AMD management system using local plants. The research methods include a literature review and system modeling using the IDEF0 approach to illustrate the AMD management flow. A SWOT analysis was also conducted. The results show that phytoremediation can reduce heavy metal content by more than 90% and raise the pH of the acidic water from below 4 to near neutral (pH 6–7) within a certain period. From an industrial engineering perspective, this system is efficient because it utilizes local resources, reduces operational costs compared to chemical methods, and supports Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) based on circular economy principles. The integration of phytoremediation into the mining green supply chain provides added value in terms of environmental sustainability, regulatory compliance, and corporate image enhancement.

Abstract

Keamanan lingkungan perumahan merupakan salah satu kebutuhan dasar masyarakat yang berdampak langsung pada kualitas hidup dan kohesi sosial. Namun, di Perumahan Kila Rengganis, Kelurahan Bajur, Kecamatan Labuapi, sarana keamanan masih terbatas, di mana pos satpam yang tersedia hanya berupa tenda portabel sementara. Kondisi ini belum mampu mendukung fungsi pengawasan, kenyamanan petugas, maupun estetika lingkungan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan merancang rekomendasi pos satpam permanen sebagai sarana pemberdayaan keamanan sekaligus ruang kebersamaan warga. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan partisipatif melalui observasi lapangan, analisis kebutuhan, dan perancangan desain. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa rancangan pos satpam dengan konsep minimalis modern, berukuran ±4,5 m × 3,65 m mampu memenuhi aspek keamanan, kenyamanan, efisiensi material, serta keserasian dengan lingkungan perumahan. Rancangan ini juga dilengkapi dengan fasilitas pendukung seperti area kerja ergonomis, penyimpanan dokumen, ruang istirahat kecil, serta pencahayaan memadai. Kegiatan ini tidak hanya menghasilkan desain teknis, tetapi juga mendorong partisipasi warga dalam menjaga keamanan dan membangun solidaritas komunitas. Dengan demikian, pos satpam yang diusulkan diharapkan dapat berfungsi sebagai sarana keamanan sekaligus wahana pemberdayaan dan kebersamaan masyarakat.

Abstract

The presence of mining companies in regions with natural resource potential is often regarded as a source of economic hope for local communities. However, not all regions are able to optimize these resources to improve community welfare. In fact, some communities primarily experience the negative impacts of mining activities. Compensation funds serve as a corporate initiative for environmental management, particularly for affected communities. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the amount of compensation provided. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to affected residents. Using multiple linear regression analysis, the results reveal that income level and number of family dependents significantly influence the compensation value. The Adjusted R² of 0.551 indicates that 55.1% of the variation in compensation is explained by the independent variables, while the remaining 44.9% is attributed to other factors not examined in this study.
