Abstract

This research takes the samples in two locations of hardened-layer implementation using asbuton as the substitution of visco elastic. The research is conducted at the road paths of national street, Jambi Province. Data are gathered through several surveys: pre-conducting survey, on conducting survey, and post-conducting survey, within a year. This research aims to compare the result of two locations and the result of Job Mix Formula which are correlated to both laboratory test result of asbuton producer and laboratory test result of Engineering Faculty of Lampung University. The result of laboratory data analysis and material used test show the causes of failure on one of the road paths though the result of laboratory test and field test remain the same. Asbuton has similar characteristics to visco elastic. The influence of temperature, specifically mixing temperature and compact temperature, is very dominant toward end result of pavement product. Mixing temperature is determined by AMP capability to produce high-heat (+/- 1700C) in aggregate drying process within “drying-drum”. Meanwhile AMP with diesel fuel is not capable to produce such high-heat, except if AMP employs coal. Besides, travel time from AMP to exposure location will very much influence the pavement quality. The research findings show the comparison between the conducting of laboratory test and the result of post-conducting at two locations in 2009. The conclusion drawn from the field test are: mixing temperature is very dominant to determine the end result and there is a problem as the result of asbuton substitution with visco elastic.

Abstract

The level of slope safety is influenced by several factors. Such as slope conditions with largeloads, steep slopes and heavy rain conditions. This often results in landslides around the TransSumatra toll road, Pematang Panggang. So that around the slopes reinforcement is needed so thatthe slopes are more stable.Based on the results of laboratory tests and research in the field, the results of the calculation ofthe slope safety value program with a 30% saturation degree condition, the safe factor value is1.2946, the degree of saturation 40%, the safe factor value is 1.2881 and the degree of saturationis 60%, the safety factor value is equal to 1,2761. Because the lowest safe factor value is at 60%saturation degree, slope stability is handled at 60% saturation degree, which is strengthened bythe cutting method on the slope body and using sheet pile to get slope reinforcement. Two methodsof handling slope stability were carried out. From the comparison of slope stability handling with60% degree of saturation, the safe slope conditions are in handling one because there is nosubsidence and soil displacement to the free slope area.

Abstract

Liwa Cross Roads – Intersection of Kemala Mount KM.268 + 550 is located on the hills of TNBBS Lampung which geographic conditions consists of cliffs and ravines are quite steep, so prone to sliding. This is certainly very harmful to the building and the road users around the slopes so that necessary alternative solutions that could make the slopes safe from the danger of landslides. One way is to build reinforcement construction on a slope such as geotextiles and cantilever retaining wall. In analyzing of the slope stability used a computer program, that is SLOPE/W, is used to calculate the safety factor accurately in a short time. Existing slope stability analys with the program SLOPE/W Bishop methods in wet and dry conditions obtained value of safety factor 0.433 and 0.4. These results prove the structure of the slopes is not safe, it is needed solutions to handle slope sliding that has a stable numerical secure slope value by using woven geotextile reinforcement by the number of 16 layers, tensile capacity 200 kN/m, cohesion 3 kPa and the friction angle of the soil 38o, vertical distance 2 m and a cantilever concrete retaining wall that has a height 15 m with a specific gravity 25 kN/m3, the compressive strength of concrete plans (f'c) 30 MPa and a tensile strength steel (fy) 400 MPa. Pile soil used to improve slope geometry made to reduce the slope. The results of slope sliding stability analysis, reinforced with geotextile using SLOPE/W obtained value of safety factor 1,332, while reinforced with cantilevered retaining wall at 1.852. For the analysis of external stability by geotextiles strengthening obtained bolsters safety factor 5.9479, shear stability 3.3531 and carrying capacity 3.4815, while the cantilevered retaining wall reinforcement obtained stability bolsters safety factor 6.0643, shear stability 2.2346 and carrying capacity 3.1828. Key words: Slope stability, stability of retaining walls, Geotextile, SLOPE/W.

Abstract

Landslides in Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park (TNBBS) usually occur during the rainy season, because the intensity of the rain more than usual, causing soil to become saturated with water in which the soil is no longer able to accommodate the water into the pores so that the pore water will rise resulting in shear strength become so small that the land becomes unstable and prone to landslides. Plaxis is a computer program based on two-dimensional finite element method that is used specifically to perform deformation and stability analysis for various applications in the geotechnical field by modeling geometry and mesh elements based on cross section. From the analysis of slope stability with a height of 10 m, the slope is expressed in critical condition. The countermeasures are carried out with three conditions, the slope with cantilevered wall strengthening B is considered safe because it has a safety factor value of 1.4953, and the smallest displacement and settlement value between two other conditions and satisfies the shear stability of 2.8200> 2 (Safe), the stability of overturning 3.9631> 2 (Safe) and soil bearing capacity is 2.2782> 2 (Safe). Keywords: slope stability, safety factor, plaxis, cantilevered retaining wall.

Abstract

Land is the basis of a pavement structure. Best part of the land to construct a road construction is land that has a high density value. To determine the density of a soil, CBR testing is needed. CBR testing itself is divided into 2, namely field CBR and laboratory CBR. Location taken was between Padang Tambak Liwa - Liwa City Limits. This research will be conducted to find out how much influence the correlation of Field CBR values and Laboratory CBR on the road. In this study researchers will conduct Water Content Test, Filter Analysis, Atterberg Limits, Plastic Limit Test, Specific Gravity, Standard Soil Compaction, laboratory CBR Test, which uses disturbed subgrade from Padang Tambak Liwa - Liwa City Limits and then obtained a graph of the CBR laboratory test data results then compared with the existing field CBR graph. In the correlation of the value of the CBR field test and the laboratory CBR test there are samples that have an average deviation value below 5%. As for STA 227 + 500, STA 230 + 500, STA 233 + 000 there were different results of deviations from 26 samples, there were 3 samples that were above 5% deviation. This can be caused by uneven soil conditions, differences in precision of laboratory equipment with the tools used in the field, different forms of penetration characters in CBR testing.
