Abstract

Abstrak Latar Belakang: Survey cepat Kemenkes RI Tahun 2010 pada 6 SLB di 3 Propinsi yaitu: Jawa Barat, Jawa Tengah danJawa Timur diketahui bahwa sebagian besar karakteristik jenis kecacatan adalah tunanetra dan tuna runggu/tuna wicara.Keadaan pemenuhan kecukupan gizi hasil food recall 24 jam sebagian besar asupan makanan anak di SLB beraneka ragam.Karakteristik perilaku kebiasaan gosok gigi 2 kali sehari kurang lebih 70% dan 50-75% melakukannya sendiri tanpabantuan orang lain. Dari segi pelayanan kesehatan gigi dan mulut meliputi penyuluhan secara khusus tentang menggosokgigi. Cara penyuluhan dengan pendampingan menggunakan poster buku cerita atau film/LCD dengan melibatkan keluarga.Tidak ada pemeriksaan kesehatan gigi dan mulut secara rutin di sekolah. Jika sakit gigi umumnya mereka pergi berobat kedokter gigi swasta, puskesmas atau beli obat warung. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui status kesehatan gigidan mulut pada anak berkebutuhan khusus penyandang cacat fisik di SLB Prof. DR. Sri Soedewi Masjchun Sofwan, SHJambi.Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode pendekatan cross sectional study, danpengumpulan data dari data primer yang diperoleh dari pemeriksaan kesehatan gigi dan mulut dengan menggunakan alatdiagnosa set dengan format pemeriksaan gigi. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 94 Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus PenyandangFisik dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yakni total sampling. Analisis menggunakan analisis univariat dan bivariat (ujikorelasi).Hasil: Analisis univariat menunjukkan rata-rata indeks DMF-T pada anak berkebutuhan khusus penyandang cacat fisik diSLB Prof. Dr. Sri Soedewi Mascjhun Sofwan SH, Jambi Tahun 2016 sebesar 3 dan rata-rata Indeks OHI-S sebesar 1.9.Analisis bivariat dengan menggunakan Uji korelasi diketahui ada hubungan indeks OHI-S dengan Indeks DMF-T, dimananilai p-value = 0,011 dan R = 0,184.Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan indeks OHI-S dengan indeks DMF-T. Disarankan untuk meningkatkan upaya promotifdan preventif pada Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus Penyandang Cacat Fisik di SLB Prof. Dr. Sri Soedewi Mascjhun SofwanSH, Jambi. Abstrack Background: Rapid Survey of Ministry of Health RI Year 2010 on 6 SLB in 3 Provinces namely: West Java, Central Javaand East Java is known that most of the characteristics of disability types are blind and deaf / speechless. In terms of dental and oral health services include counseling specifically about brushing teeth. How tocounsel with mentoring using storybook or movie / LCD poster with family involvement. There are no regular dental andoral health checks at school. If toothache generally they go to a private dentist, puskesmas or buy a drug stall. The purposeof this study was to determine the status of oral and dental health in children with special needs of physically disabled inSLB Prof. DR. Sri Soedewi Masjchun Sofwan, SH Jambi.Methods: This research was a quantitative research with cross sectional study approach. Data were collected fromprimary data obtained from dental and mouth examination by using diagnostic set instrument with dental examinationformat. A total of 94 children with physically disabled special needs were with sampling technique that is total sampling.The analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis (correlation test).Results: The results of univariate analysis showed that the average of DMF-T index in Children with Special Needs ofPhysically Disabled in SLB Prof. Dr. Sri Soedewi Mascjhun Sofwan SH, Jambi The year 2016 is 3 and the average OHI-SIndex is 1.9. Bivariate analysis using correlation test known there is correlation index OHI-S with DMF-T Index, where pvalue value = 0,011 and R = 0,184.Conclusion: It is suggested to increase promotion and preventive effort in Children with Special Needs of PhysicallyDisabled in SLB Prof. Dr. Sri Soedewi Mascjhun Sofwan SH, Jambi.

Abstract

Pengetahuan ibu terhadap kebersihan gigi dan mulut menentukan kesehatan gigi anak. Orang tua khususnya ibu harus dapat mengajari anaknya cara merawat gigi yang baik dan benar. Persatuan dokter gigi Australia pernah mengungkapkan bahwa: ” kesehatan gigi geligi adalah tanggung jawab ibunya”. Hal ini dapat dipahami karena umumnya yang paling dekat dengan anak sejak usia menyusui adalah ibunya. (Machfoedz, 2008). Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif analitik dengan desain penelitian cross sectional study. Populasi penelitian adalah ibu dan murid Tk yang ada di Kecamatan Kota Baru Jambi kurang lebih berjumlah 630 ibu dan murid TK dari 10 kelurahan. Pengambilan sampel secara purposivesebanyak 300 ibu dan anak TK. Hipotesa penelitian adalah adanya hubungan pengetahuan ibu tentang pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi dengan rampan karies. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengetahuan ibu tentang pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi dan mulut murid TK di Kecamatan Kota Baru Jambi tahun 2017 dengan kriteria tinggi sebesar 84,7%, kriteria sedang 15% dan kreteria rendah 0,3% serta rata-rata pengetahuan ibu mempunyai nilai sebesar 8,4. Prevalensi rampan karies pada murid TK sebesar 61%, prevalensi karies sebesar 25,7% dan yang bebas rampan/karies sebesar 13,3%. Hubungan antara pengetahuan ibu tentang pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi dan mulut terhadap rampan karies murid TK di Kecamatan Kota Baru Jambi tahun 2017 menunjukkan tidak ada hubungan bermakna (p>0,000). Abstract

The most effective way to prevent dental problems, especially cavities, is to brush your teeth. Children must be taught and motivated to perform dental care independently. Children who often brush their teeth used to clean mouths at an earlier age usually maintain this habit for the rest of their lives. The effects of education and early stimulation on children are increasingly recognized and important. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct an educational method research that is the most effective there is knowledge of brushing teeth in early childhood. Dental health education includes lecture methods, screening of films / videos / slides, demonstrations, plays with puppets, and role playing (playing). The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of the effectiveness of dental health education with the method of role playing, video and puppets in improving tooth brushing skills in early childhood. This research is a quantitative research with quasi-experimental approach method, and data collection from primary data obtained from questionnaires. A sample of 24 children of TK Pinang Masak Jambi and 24 children of kindergarten Khalifah Jambi were taken by total sampling technique with the criteria of sample of early childhood, aged ≥ 4 years and wanted to become respondents. The results of the analysis obtained dental health education by playing a more effective role playing on increasing tooth brushing skills in early childhood is indicated by a significance value at 0.000 (p <0.05) compared to video playback methods, plays with puppets, lectures and demonstrations. It is recommended that dental health workers carry out dental and oral health promotive efforts using the role playing method for early childhood.

Abstract

Childrens with Autism have difficulty to clean their oral cavity because less of ability in motor skills. Case reports show that the average autistic child has dental caries and periodontal disease due to the inability to brush their teeth properly. Autistic children spend a lot of time with their families so that the role of families, especially parents, is very important in the development of children with autism. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of brush teeth video counseling to improve brushing teeth skill in parents of autistic children at SLB 2 Provinsi Jambi. Study design is a quasi experimental study. The independent variable was the video counsellling of brushing teeth and the dependent variable was the parent’s ability of brushing teeth. The Sample in this study were parents of autistic children who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The average age of the respondents was 41 years (CI: 38 - 44). Wilcoxon test showed p value 0, 0001 (0.05) means significant difference of brushing skills between treatment group and control group. Mann Whitney showed p value 0.0042 (0.05), means significant difference between before and after intervention in the treatment group. Providing education on brushing skills to children with autism cannot be done instantly, it is necessary for the role of parents in teaching tooth brushing skills to be carried out continuously until children can brush their teeth independently. There is an improvement in brushing skills in parents of autistic children through counseling using videos on how to brush teeth.

Abstract

ABSTRAKAnak penyandang tunanetra merupakan kelompok rentan dalam kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Rendahnya edukasi kesehatan gigi dan mulut merupakan kendala bagi anak tunanetra untuk mencegah karies, kalkulus, dan maloklusi. Upaya promosi kesehatan anak tunanetra harus menekankan penyampaian informasi melalui suara, kata-kata dan sentuhan. Penyampaian informasi tersebut dapat menggunakan metode multisensory dental education. SurveiSurvei awal menunjukan kondisi siswa tunanetra dan guru sangat memerlukan pelayanan kesehatan berupa promosi kesehatan gigi dan mulut yang dilaksanakan melalui pengabdian masyarakat. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan edukasi kesehatan gigi dan mulut pada siswa tunanetra di SLB yang ada di Kota Jambi dengan melibatkan siswa dan guru untuk keberlangsungan upaya promosi kesehatan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada Bulan April sampai Mei 2022 yang meliputi surveisurvei awal, koordinasi, persiapan, pelaksanaan kegiatan dan evaluasi. Mitra dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah SLBN Sri Soedewi dan SLBN 1 KOTA Jambi. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat berupaya upaya promosi kesehatan melalui penyuluhan kesehatan gigi dan mulut kepada siswa penyandang tunanetra dan guru. Penyuluhan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode multisensory dental education. Sebanyak 100% sasaran mengalami peningkatan keterampilan menyikat gigi, sehingga angka ini lebih dari target yang ditetapkan yaitu sebesar 90%. Hasil evaluasi menunjukan keberhasilan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat terhadap peningkatan keterampilan menyikat gigi pada sasaran. Kata kunci:      multisensory dental education; promosi kesehatan gigi dan mulut; siswa penyandang tunanetra. ABSTRACTChildren with visual impairment are vulnerable group in dental and oral health. Low knowledge of oral health is an obstacle for blind children to prevent caries, calculus, and malocclusion. Health promotion in visual impairment children should emphasize the information through sound, words and touch that can be use the multisensory dental education method. The initial survei showed that the visual impairment students and teachers was needed a dental health promotion. The purpose of this activity  is to improve oral health care for visual impairment students in SLB in Jambi City by involving students and teachers for continuing health promotion at school. This activity start form April to May 2022 which include initial survei, coordination, preparation, implementation and evaluation. The partners are SLBN Sri Soedewi and SLBN 1 Kota Jambi. This community service performing oral health promotion through dental and oral health education. Transfering education was using multisensory dental education method. All of targets experienced an increase in tooth brushing skills, that is more than the target that setting at 90%. The results of the evaluation show the success of this activity in improving teeth brushing skills on the target. Keywords: children with visual impairment; multisensory dental education; oral health promotion.

ABSTRAKLatar Belakang: Anak berkebutuhan khusus beresiko tingga pada masalah mulut oleh karena itu perlu bantuan orang lain yaitu orang tua atau keluarga untuk membimbing dalam menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulutnya. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu ABK di SLB Harapan Mulia Kota Jambi tentang perawatan gigi dan mulut dengan metode Tell Show Do dan meningkatkan kunjungan perawatan/pelayanan kesehatan gigi dan mulut di puskesmas/RS. Metode: edukasi menggunakan laptod dan LCD tentang teknik Tell Show Do dalam perawatan gigi dan mulut pada ABK, lalu memberikan buku saku pada masing-masing ibu ABK. Penilaian pengetahuan dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah edukasi Hasil: Adanya peningkatan pengetahuan orang tuan (p=0,0001)setelah diberikan pengetahuan dengan metode Tell Show Do Kesimpulan: adanya pengaruh pemberian edukasi terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan Tell Show Do pada Orang Tua murid ABK di SLB Harapan Mulia Tahun 2019 ABSTRACTBackground: Children with special needs are at risk of living with oral problems, therefore they need help from other people, namely parents or family to guide them in maintaining the health of their teeth and mouth.
