Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the students characteristic in terms of underachiever and its causal factors. Qualitative by case study model was used in this research as research method. Semi structure interview, observation, and documentation were used in this research to collect the data. A student who gets underachiever was the researchs subject. Miles and Huberman technique were used to analyze the data. The result showed that underachiever HT had the characteristics such as low self-esteem and low academic self-esteem, avoided schools tasks. Casual factors of underachiever HT were learning strategy, psychology factor, including emotion factor. Moreover, low motivation, psychosocial factor in terms of family, less attention from the parents, fathers punishment for HT, and parents critics were the factors for underachiever. Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah memperoleh gambaran mengenai karakteristik siswa yang mengalami underachieverdan faktor-faktor penyebabnya.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode kualitatif dengan model penelitian studi kasus.Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan wawancara semiterstruktur, observasi dan dokumentasi.Subjek penelitian satu orang siswa yang mengalami underachiever. Analisis data menggunakan teknik model Miles dan Huberman. Kesimpulannya yaitu HT mengalami underachiever dengan karakteristik rendahnya self-esteemdan rendahnya konsep diri akademik.Faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan HT mengalami underachiever strategi dalam belajar, faktor kondisi psikologis, faktor emosi.Faktor motivasi yang rendah, faktor kondisi psikososial yaitu kondisi keluarga, orangtua kurang memberikan perhatian, seringnya ayah memberi hukuman kepada HT dan orangtua yang sering mengkritik menjadi faktor penyebab underachiever.Kata kunci: bimbingan dan konseling, faktor penyebab, underachiever

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to reduce the student discipline violations in the school by using group counseling. The method used was the method of quasi experiment with one group pre-test post-test design. The subjects were 9 subjects who violated school rules. Data collecting technique use observation. The results obtained from Wilcoxon test indicate that violations of the student discipline in schools was reduced after the given group counseling. The results of the pretest and posttest obtained Z = 2692 = 6 then Z tabel 0.05, Ho was ignored and Ha was accepted, which meant a violation of students in school discipline was reduced after the given group counseling. The conclusion of this research was a violation of students in the school was reduce after the given group counseling Class VII student of SMP Negeri 3 Natar years 2013/2014.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengurangi pelanggaran tata tertib siswa di sekolah dengan menggunakan konseling kelompok. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode quasi experiment dengan one group pre-test post-test design. Subjek penelitian 9 subjek yang melakukan pelanggaran tata tertib di sekolah. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi. Hasil yang diperoleh dari uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan bahwa pelanggaran tata tertib siswa di sekolah berkurang setelah diberikan konseling kelompok. Hasil pretest dan posttest yang diperoleh Z hitung = 2.692 Z tabel 0.05 = 6, maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima, artinya pelanggaran tata tertib siswa di sekolah berkurang setelah diberikan konseling kelompok. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah pelanggaran tata tertib siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Natar Tahun Pelajaran 2013/2014 berkurang setelah diberikan konseling kelompok.Kata kunci : bimbingan konseling, konseling kelompok, pelanggaran tata tertib

Abstract

The aims of this research was to determine corelations of student’s motivation and using of school learning facilities to students' learning achievement. The method used in this research was correlation method. The subjects in the study  were 36 students gotten by random sampling technique. Data collecting techniques  using a scale of motivation to learn and questionaire of utilization of school facilities . The results obtained indicate that there was a relationship between learning motivation and utilization of student learning, it was shown from the results of data analysis using Person Product Moment Correlation (r) tehniques, r output by 0.4 then consulted with r tabel of 0.325. The conclusion is  there is a corelations between learning motivation and using learning of school  learningn facilities to students learning achievement.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan motivasi belajar siswa dengan pemanfaatan fasilitas belajar di sekolah pada siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode korelasi. Subjek penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah 36 siswa yang didapat melalui teknik random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dengan menggunakan skala motivasi belajar dan angket pemanfaatan fasilitas belajar. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara motivasi belajar dengan pemanfaatan fasilitas belajar siswa, ditunjukkan dari hasil analisis data menggunakan teknik korelasi Person Product Moment (r), diperoleh nilai rhitung sebesar 0,4 kemudian dikonsultasikan dengan rtabel sebesar 0,325. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan antara motivasi belajar dengan pemanfaatan fasilitas belajar di sekolah pada siswa.Kata kunci: bimbingan dan konseling, fasilitas belajar, motivasi belajar siswa

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the level of difficulty of the Supervising Teacher in Mastering the Concept and Praxis of Assessment to Understand the Conditions, Needs, and Problems of the Counselee. This research used survey research methods with descriptive quantitative research. The population of the research was 160 guidance and counseling teachers who were taken by using proportional sampling techniques from each regional representative, so that 50 teachers of guidance and counseling were obtained. The data collection is collected through understanding tests. The data analysis is used descriptive quantitative analysis. The results of the study showed that the Level of Teacher Difficulties in Mastering the Concept and Praxis of Assessment to Understand the Conditions, Needs, and Problems of the counselees in the very low category with a percentage of 44%. This is supported by the results of the respondents' justification analysis that the level of understanding of the concepts and assessment praxis in guidance and counseling teachers in schools is in the moderate category with only 16%.Keywords: counselor competence, assessment, mastery of concept and prescriptive assessment, teacher guidance and counselingDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jiip.v1i2.18032
