Abstract

This is a qualitative study of a case study aimed at knowing the effectiveness of visual conversation system through picture cards to stimulate early childhood development with language and communication barriers. The subjects in this study were chosen through the procedure of determining the subjects in qualitative research proposed by Sarantakos (1993, in Poerwandari 2005), namely: 1) not directed to the large number of participants but in typical cases according to the specificity of the research problem, 2) not directed to representation in terms of numbers or random events, but to context matches. Based on the above explanation, the researcher then determines the general criteria of the subjects / participants of the study as follows: 1) The subjects are early childhood of group A or B kindergarten and 2) the subjects have language and cammunication barriers. Data collection methods are through observation, interviews, and informal assessments, as well as field notes documentation. Data analysis is performed by comparing the initial condition of subjects before being stimulated with the initial condition of the subjects after stimulation is performed. The results of data analysis show that the application of visual conversation system with themed picture cards can be used to help stimulate early childhood development with language and communication barriers.

Abstract

This qualitative case study aimed to develop the functional reading and writing skills of mild mentally retarded children through whole word approach and VAKT strategy. The subject in this study was selected through the procedures of subject determination in qualitative research proposed by Sarantakos (1993, in Poerwandari 2005), namely: 1) not directed to the large number of participants but in typical cases according to the specificity of the research problem, 2) not directed to representation in terms of numbers or random events, but to context matches. Based on the above explanation, the researcher then determined the general criteria of the subjects / participants of the study as follows: 1) Subjects were children aged between 6-8 years old who were in kindergarten (group B) or elementary school (first grade or second grade), 2) subjects were children with mild mental retardation who have difficulty in developing functional reading and writing skills. Methods of data collection in this study were conducted through observation, interviews, and informal assessments, as well as documentation of field notes during data mining. Data analysis was performed by comparing the initial condition of the subject before stimulation implemented with the final condition of the subject after the stimulation completed. The results of data analysis indicated that the whole-word approach and VAKT strategy can be applied to develop the early functional reading and writing skills in children with mild mental retardation

Abstract

Masa pendemi bagi orangtua menjadi situasi yang penuh tekanan, ditambah lagi adanya beban ganda yang dihadapi dalam mendampingi anak belajar dari rumah. Hal ini ini berpengaruh pada meningkatnya level stres orang tua yang berimbas pada tindak kekerasan pada anak selama pandemi. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk memberikan telaah yang didasarkan pada  kajian pustaka dalam menawarkan potensi kegiatan menulis ekspresif sebagai strategi pengelolaan stres bagi ibu selama menjalani berbagai tuntutan peran di rumah selama pandemi. Berdasarkan telaah dan analisis pustaka yang telah dilakukan dapat dikatakan kegiatan menulis ekspresif dapat menjadi salah satu strategi koping yang berfungsi untuk mengkomunikasikan dan mengekspresikan perasaan dan emosi yang dialami, sehingga orang tua dapat memahami permasalahan yang dihadapi secara lebih jernih dan tenang dalam menemukan cara-cara yang lebih positif dan adaptif dalam menghadapi segala kondisi yang penuh tekanan selama masa pandemi

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul Efektivitas pemberian reward melalui metode token economy untuk meningkatkan kedisiplinan anak usia dini 4-6 tahun. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efektivitas pemberian reward melalui metode token economy untuk meningkatkan disiplin anak usia dini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, dengan menggunakan desain eksperimen one group pre-test post-test. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas A dan B di RA Al-Ma’ruf Mojoranu Dukuhagung Tikung Lamongan yang berjumlah 14 orang. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Paired sample test. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama 23 hari yaitu 7 hari pre-test, 13 hari treatment token economy, dan 7 hari post-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan antara pre-test dan post-test. skor post-test lebih tinggi dari skor pre-test. Hal ini juga membuktikan bahwa pengujian hipotesis melalui uji Paired sample dengan SPSS 26 menunjukkan Sig 0,00 yaitu kurang dari 0,05. Artinya H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian reward melalui metode token economy efektif untuk meningkatkan kedisiplinan anak usia dini 4-6 tahun di RA Al-Ma'ruf Mojoranu Dukuhagung Tikung Lamongan

Abstract

This study entitled "Edu-parenting as a means of disseminating knowledge and understanding of parents on balanced nutrition for early childhood at SPS Roudlotul Jannah". This was motivated by the knowledge and understanding of parents regarding balanced nutrition for early childhood which has an important role for children because it will affect their growth and development. As an educational institution which was also a place for children to grow and develop, the school should also anticipate this by organizing an educational parenting activity as a means of disseminating knowledge and understanding of balanced nutrition for early childhood, so that parents can provide optimal and appropriate balanced nutrition consumption patterns for their children. Based on preliminary study conducted by researchers, it was known that the average parents at SPS Roudlotul Jannah, who was the participant in this research, still didn’t have optimal knowledge and understanding of balanced nutrition according to the needs of the child's body. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach and is a type of field research with 10 subjects. The results of this study indicated that the edu parenting activities carried out on April 4, 2023 can be used as a means of socializing parental knowledge and understanding of balanced nutrition for early childhood which can be seen from the inscreasing of : (1) new knowledge and understanding of balanced nutrition for early childhood, and (2) the commitment and awareness of parents regarding the provision of balanced nutrition for children after participating in edu-parenting activities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya media menarik dan inovatif untuk menstimulasi kemampuan membaca permulaan di TK Kartini I Tumenggungan Lamongan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui hasil pengembangan media puzzle  huruf alfabet dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan pada anak usia 4-5 tahun. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (Research And Development ) dengan menggunakan metode Borg & Gall yang dimodifikasi menjadi enam tahap, meliputi a) Studi pendahuluan, b) Perencanaan, c) Desain produk, d) Uji coba & Validasi Produk, e) Revisi Produk, f) Uji coba Lapangan. Jenis Data yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini merupakan data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data kualitatif didapatkan dari hasil komentar serta saran dan wawancara para validator ahli, sedangkan data kuantitatif  yang diperoleh dari hasil angket/kuesioner penilaian subyek pada uji coba lapangan, yakni siswa-siswi TK Kartini Tumenggungan Lamongan. Hasil validasi ahli dan uji coba menunjukan bahwa ahli materi memberikan nilai persentase skor 83,33%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil validasi dan perbaikan produk dinyatakan valid dan tidak perlu revisi. Kemudian validasi dari ahli media menunjukkan nilai persentase 88,5%, yang berarti media produk ini dinilai valid dan tidak perlu revisi. Sedangkan berdasarkan penilaian validasi ahli praktisi nilai persentase 93,3%, yang menunjukkan bahwa media/produk valid, dapat dilanjutkan pada tahap uji coba lapangan. Pada tahap uji coba produk pada subyek (siswa TK) terbagi menjadi dua, yakni 1) uji coba perseorangan yang memperoleh nilai persentase 94,11%, 2) uji coba kelompok kecil memperoleh nilai persentase 80,16%, dan sedangkan pada tahap uji coba lapangan diperoleh nilai persentase 72,82%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat dinyatakan bahwa produk/media layak digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran untuk stimulasi kemampuan membaca permulaan pada anak usia dini (4-5 tahun).

Abstract

Character building in educational process is a fundamental element for forming the personality and morality of the younger generation. However, increasingly rapid and complex developments have presented their own challenges in implementing parenting patterns for children. One of these challenges is the emergence of a phenomenon called the “Strawberry generation”. This term refers to a generation that appears fragile, gives up easily, and lacks resilience in facing life's pressures or difficulties. One of the reasons for this is that parenting styles tend to be excessive in providing comfort without instilling the values ​​of toughness and independence. Facing this challenge, a character education strategy is needed that can form children who not only have intellectual intelligence, but also mental strength and good morals. The Islamic perspective, with its emphasis on the moral and spiritual values ​​contained in the teachings of the Qur'an and Hadith, offers a relevant approach to shaping the character of the younger generation. This research aims to explore character education strategies in facing parenting challenges in the strawberry generation, by examining the Islamic perspective which focuses on the formation of children's morals and mental resilience. The approach used in this research is a literature review with qualitative analysis of sources related to character education, parenting patterns and related Islamic teachings. The results of the study show that in Islam, character education does not only focus on teaching morals and ethics, but also prioritizes developing the traits of self-resilience, such as patience (shabr), steadfastness (istiqamah), and trust in Allah. Apart from that, the parenting style taught in Islam emphasizes a balance between deep love and strict application of discipline, as exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Thus, it is hoped that the character education strategy from an Islamic perspective can be a solution to overcome the weaknesses of the strawberry generation, as well as form a young generation who is tough, has noble character, and is ready to face life's challenges with full confidence.

Abstract

This study investigated the effectiveness of exploring natural materials as media to enhance artistic creativity in 5-6-year-old children at TK Pembangunan Glagah Lamongan. A pre-experimental quantitative approach with a one-group pre-test post-test design was employed. The study's subjects comprised 13 students from Group B at TK Pembangunan Glagah Lamongan, selected using a saturated sampling technique. Primary data were collected through a validated and reliable observation instrument, while secondary data were obtained via field observations and interviews conducted throughout the study. Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test to determine significant differences between pre-test and post-test scores of children's artistic creativity, with a significance level of 0.05. The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test results, with a p-value of 0.002, indicate that the use of natural materials as media significantly improved artistic creativity in 5-6-year-old children at TK Pembangunan Glagah Lamongan. This intervention successfully enhanced creativity in most students without diminishing it in others.
