Abstract

The research of the thermal environment of the school building is useful for determining the design strategy of a thermally comfortable school building. This research method is based on field measurements. A total of 8 classrooms from 4 public school buildings in Pontianak City with different characteristics of opening directions, orientations, and floor locations were selected in this study. The results showed that the air temperature and humidity in the classroom ranged between 26.9oC-33.5oC and 74.5%-84.2%. The average air velocity in the classroom is 0.24m/s. The globe temperature is higher than the air temperature with an average difference of 7.7oC. Protection against solar radiation and increased air velocity can be potential design strategies to achieve thermal comfort in classrooms.

Abstract

The development of tourism areas is one of the high priority sectors in Indonesia. One of the tourism sectors that has the potential to be developed in Indonesia is agrotourism. Sukadana is one of the sub-districts as well as the capital of North Kayong Regency which has many tourist destinations in the form of beaches, mountains and other natural beauty such as paoh hills, mangrove forests, etc. In addition to the tourism sector, Sukadana is also very famous for its durian products. Durian is one of the many varieties of fruits found in Sukadana District. However, in recent years there has been a decline in durian fruit sales. This is due to the pandemic period which sometimes limits the access of people outside the Sukadana District to visit. With this problem, the idea was created to create an agro-tourism area in North Kayong Regency that can support the distribution of fruits both during the pandemic and during normal times. The design of this agro-tourism area uses a bioclimatic architectural approach that pays attention to the relationship between architectural forms and their environment, especially in matters relating to the climate of the area. This agro-tourism area applies the concept of a Tourism and Education Village (Tourism And Education Village) where in addition to traveling, visitors can also get education related to agriculture and plantations. With the existence of this agro-tourism area, it is expected to affect the rate of economic growth in North Kayong Regency, especially the people of Sukadana District.

Abstract

Abstract_ The COVID-19 pandemic has brought changes in both activities and space design to prevent the wider spread of the virus. These changes need an adaptation so that activities can run smoothly. Adaptation can be in the form of changes in space design, activities, and so on. One of the activities that began to be carried out was learning at school. In this regard, the purpose of this research is to see what changes have occurred (design and regulations) and the process of human adaptation to these changes. This research was conducted on 4 objects, namely SD 14 Pontianak Kota Subdistrict, SD 56 West Pontianak Subdistrict, SMP 2 South Pontianak Subdistrict, and SMP 10 South Pontianak Subdistrict. The methodology used is place-centered mapping, interviews, and questionnaires. The results of the study showed changes in the form of physical such as the provision of handwashing facilities, temperature checking, and changes in the overall seating arrangement and space setting changes at the level of acceptance. As for non-physical changes (regulations) such as the circulation path, it shows that humans are at a level in the process (some accept and reject). This shows that humans are more receptive to changes/adaptations to physical things, while non-physical changes still allow humans to refuse and act by what they usually do. Abstract

The Campus Mosque is a worship facility for Muslims, which accommodates all kinds of worship activities in the campus environment. In general, the mosque is used as a place to worship, for religious activities such as grand tabling, recitation, and lectures, and a place to stop for travelers and others. The existence of the Campus Mosque is inseparable from its supporting facilities for the convenience and continuity of the congregation in worship, one of which is the toilet room facility and the ablution area. These two facilities are always kept clean and comfortable, making it easier for the congregation to wash and clean themselves before worship. This study aims to evaluate the functional and behavioral aspects of using toilet room facilities and ablution places. It can provide recommendations for evaluation results and design solutions for toilet rooms and ablution places that are healthy and comfortable according to Islamic law. This research was conducted on three objects: toilet room facilities and ablution places at the Al Muhtadin UNTAN Campus Mosque, Al Hadid POLNEP Mosque, and Al Baroqah IKIP Pontianak Mosque. The research method used is Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE) with an investigative level, carried out by observing field data collection, observing behavior by means of a place center map, and distributing questionnaires by random sampling. Then, the data is processed using qualitative analysis by describing the results of the questionnaire that was obtained. The results of the study show that from the functional evaluation, there are non-standard dimensions of the toilet room, access to circulation from the toilet, and integrated ablution place. Comfort from the behavioral aspect based on observation, there is a tendency for users to choose access that is closer to the toilet room and the place of ablution. Based on respondents, the level of comfort, convenience, and security also focuses on supporting physical elements, zones between toilet rooms and ablutions that are comfortable and safe to access, and flexible movement between users. The conclusion matrix of the evaluation results is used as the basis for providing solutions and recommendations for the spatial layout of toilets and ablution places that are representative by taking into account aspects of shariah and function feasibility.

Abstract

Tourism destinations represent a vital element and the primary motivator for tourists in determining their travel and visitation patterns. Consequently, it is essential to implement effective planning strategies that align with the diverse motivations of tourists. One of the scientific discussions in tourism planning or development is through network analysis. With network analysis, it can explain the relationship or relationship between tourist attractions so that in the future it can be further developed how the attraction cluster in a tourist destination can be developed and directed. This research sees that the priority in terms of centrality should be given to the many attractions in West Kalimantan. This study aims to identify relationships or relationships between tourist attractions in West Kalimantan to be able to see the trend of networking (centrality), can be in the form of centralization, connectedness, clusters, and others. This research uses a network analysis approach which in principle is divided into several methods such as centrality calculations carried out with analytical techniques/tools such as degree, closeness, betweenness, and eigenvector. From the results obtained, the cluster of tourist attractions spread evenly in each region. The tourist attraction cluster with the most interaction is located in Bengkayang Regency, Pontianak City, North Kayong Regency, Ketapang Regency, and Kapuas Hulu Regency. For tourist attraction clusters with easy access, they are in the Sambas Regency and Singkawang City areas. Clusters of tourist attractions that become hubs are located in Sanggau Regency and Ketapang Regency. Then the cluster of tourist attractions with the most central point is located in Singkawang City. The road network (access) in the configuration is very influential in the connectivity between regions in reaching tourist attractions
