Abstract

The objective of research is to analyze the influence of organizational culture and work stress on work satisfaction of the employee of University of Brawijaya Malang. The expected result is whether organizational culture and work stress influence work satisfaction. The supportive organizational culture and the appropriate management of work stress will give good impact on work satisfaction of the employee. Research design is causal (cause and effect) which aims at explaining the causal relationship between research variables through hypothesis testing. Data of research are obtained through interview with informants, questionnaire and observation. The sample includes 104 respondents. Method to collect data from respondents is questionnaire with Likert Scale. Data analysis involves classical assumption test and multiple linear regression analysis. The processing of data is facilitated by SPSS Version 21 to understand the influence of organizational culture and work stress on work satisfaction of the administration employee of University of Brawijaya Malang. Independent variables in this research are organizational culture (X1) and work stress (X2), while dependent variable is work satisfaction (Y). Result of research based on the analysis over the data and the hypothesis testing has indicated that organizational culture (X1) and work stress (X2) are simultaneously and partially influencing significantly on work satisfaction (Y). One independent variable with the dominant influence on dependent variable is work stress (X2). It means that work stress experienced by the employee of University of Brawijaya Malang shall be minimized through manners and methods available to increase work satisfaction felt by the employee of University of Brawijaya Malang.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to tested and explained empirically about (1)the effect of leadership style on the organizational performance, (2) the effect of ethicon the organizational performance, (3) the effect of leadership style on theorganizational performance through organizational culture, and 4) the effect of ethicalon organizational performance through organizational culture. The sample was takenusing the sample proportion method. The selected respondents were employees of PTWidatra Bhakti who have worked for more than 2 years. In this case the researcher tooka sample of 174 respondents. The research hypothesis was tested using Partial LeastSquare (PLS) analysis technique. The results of this study indicated that leadershipstyle and ethics did not give a direct influence on organizational performance.Organizational culture had a role in mediated the effect of leadership and ethical styleson organizational performance. Thus the role of organizational culture had an importantrole in producing performance in the organization.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the role of Islamic Work Ethic and locus of control in improving job satisfaction both directly and indirectly. The study population is 607 Muslim Civil Servants (PNS) and working in regional work units (SKPD) North Buton Regency. The sample that obtained for this study are 124 civil servants (PNS). Sampling was done by using a proportional (proportionate random sampling), in each instances, with 8% of precision rate. The data collection method was a customized questionnaire survey method based on Likert scale 1-5. The analysis tool used is Partial Least Square (PLS) with hypothesis testing process used software application program Smart PLS 3.0.The results showed that the Islamic Work Ethic and Locus Of Control has a positive and significant influence either directly or indirectly on Job Satisfaction, thus concluded that the Islamic work ethics and locus of control proved to increase employee satisfaction in work units (SKPD) , North Buton Regency. The practical contribution of this research is to provide information to the Civil Servants (PNS) and Local Government in order to always improve understanding and programs related to the increase in work attitudes Civil Servants (PNS), especially in the scope of work units (SKPD). While theoretically this study contribute to the development of different models of measurement variables from previous studies, in which the role of the Islamic Work Ethic variables and Locus of Control as exogenous variables are reflective, while job satisfaction variables as endogenous variables are formative. Further limitations and suggestions discussed in the research. Keywords: Islamic Work Ethic, Locus of Control, Job Satisfaction.
