Abstract

Yard land has the potential to be developed in order to produce a variety of foodstuffs to medicines, which can be consumed by family members. Utilization of yards can be initiated by KWT Sumber Rejeki, Ngentak Village, by cultivating red ginger plants using a healthy farming system with Eco-enzyme fertilizer application. A healthy farming system is a cultivation system that minimizes the input of chemicals on cultivated land, so as to maintain the quality of the environment and agricultural products produced. Selection of ginger plants for cultivation in the yard, because the ginger plant can be used for spices, traditional medicine, ginger candy, candied ginger, instant drinks, pickled ginger, ginger coffee, ginger syrup, and as an export commodity. The results of the socialization and mentoring carried out, information was obtained that most of the members of Sumber Rejeki KWT have received socialization on medicinal plant cultivation, but they do not know how to cultivate medicinal plants properly, in general, the cultivation of medicinal plants is only planted in moderation, there is no land cultivation and plant maintenance, even though the selection of seeds, processing of planting media and care are very important to produce quality plants. After the socialization and training on ginger cultivation was held, most of the members of KWT Sumber Rejeki were interested in cultivating red ginger in their home gardens, because red ginger plants are able to provide benefits to the community not only in terms of health, but also in terms of finance.

Abstract

Coconut husk and waste can be used as liquid organic fertilizer (POC) to improve soil fertility due to the nutrient content contained in coconut coir. The use of coconut fiber as POC needs to be assessed to obtain recommendations for the correct concentration and application interval. This study aimed to examine the effect of coconut fiber POC application on shallot growth and yield, and determine the optimal concentration that can provide the best results. The study used RCBD (Randomized Completely Block Design) in three replications, consisting of two factors. The first factor was the concentration of the coconut fiber POC solution: control, 10%, 20%, and 30%. The second factor is the time interval of coconut fiber POC application, namely 1, 2, and 3 weeks. The variables observed in this study were the number of tillers per clump, number of tubers, fresh weight of tubers, dry weight of tubers, and tuber diameter. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) at a significance level of 5%. The results showed that applying coconut fiber POC concentrations of 10%, 20%, and 30% increased the number of tillers per clump, dry bulb weight, and diameter of shallot bulbs, but there were no significant differences among the three concentrations. The results of the regression analysis showed that the optimum concentration was in the range of 17%–18.26%. The time interval for applying coconut fiber POC has no significant effect on increasing the number of tillers per clump, the number of bulbs.

Abstract

Anemia in pregnant women is a global problem that impacts both mother and fetus. Anemia in pregnancy is associated with maternal morbidity and is an indirect cause of maternal death in the entire population of pregnant women. Classification of anemia based on the erythrocyte index value is divided into normochromic normocytic, normochromic macrocytic, hypochromic microcytic and hypochromic macrocytic anemia. The erythrocyte index values are divided into Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV), Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin (MCH) and Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concentration (MCHC). The aim of the research is to describe the types of anemia in pregnant women based on the erythrocyte index value at RSIA Restu Ibu Sragen in 2022. This research uses a quantitative descriptive research type with a retrospective approach. The research sample was 51 medical records of pregnant women who experienced anemia at RSIA Restu Ibu Sragen in January-December 2022 using purposive sampling. The materials and tools used were secondary data from laboratory examination results of pregnant women diagnosed with anemia which included hematocrit, hemoglobin, index erythrocytes (MCV, MCH, and MCHC), Microsoft Excel and SPSS Version 21 software. Data analysis used analysis univariate. The results of the study concluded that pregnant women who experienced anemia at RSIA Restu Ibu Sragen were aged 21-34 years with a third trimester pregnancy and were primigravida. Based on the erythrocyte index, normocytic anemia was normochromic in 18 people (35.3%), microcytic hypochromic anemia in 20 people (39.2%), and macrocytic hypochromic anemia in 13 people (25.5%). So it can be said that most pregnant women experience microcytic hypochromic anemia.
