Abstract

The objective of the study were (1) To know the process of teaching writing skill in narrative text at tenth grade of SMK PGRI 3 Kota Serang (2) To find out the result of students writing skill in narrative text by using dispersion imagination at tenth grade of SMK PGRI 3 Kota Serang. This research is used a mixed method research design, classroom action research. The result of the research were (1) the process of teaching narrative text using dispersion imagination in writing skills of two steps; pre-cycle and cycle. The result of research showed that the research in cycle 1, the writer used the move picture, the students to listen and look at the move picture in slide at the Power Point about the material. The students write narrative text from the story by using dispersion imagination. In cycle 2, the use of film is able to improve students writing skill in narrative text and develop idea to write well. While the role of teachers who are not just as facilitators, but also as a motivator and inspirator are also able to provide new supported in the learning process. There is improvement in writing skill of the students after the treatment. It can be seen from their main score of pre-test and post-test. (2) There was improvement in the pre-test main score (41.00), the first post-test mean score (45.00), and the second post-test main score (76.00). The achievement of writing in post-test is 76,00%. In conclusion, there was significant improvement of the students in writing skill in narrative text by using dispersion imagination.

Abstract

Teacher is one of actor who has the important position to determine the success key of process of learning. Although, the factors that can affects the process of learnnig is not only based on the teacher itself. But as an agent of educator in formal educational institution, the teacher can bring the biggest impact for all of the students. Because as we known, to create the best quality in process of learning, it always need the qualify and professional teacher. There are four competence that should be mastering by teachers, to make themselves be qualify . One of the competence is pedagogical competence. This one, is competence that make the teacher profession is different from the other profesion. This research aimed to describe the ability of teacher in mastering pedagogical competence, and also the process of implementation of pedagogical competence in teaching English at SMK PGRI 3 Kota Serang. This research is one the kind qualitative research with the descriptive approach. To collect data related to the subject that being studied in this research, the writer used some of techniques such as observation, questionnaire, interview and some of the research documentations. This research used three of English teacher as a sample research. For the result of this research it can see based on the result of observation sheet that show is around 65.625% for the implementation of pedagogical competence in the process of teaching English. And, for the result of questionnaire get the 70% for score in ability of teacher in mastering pedagogical competence. Based on this research, it can conclude that the ability of teacher in mastering pedagogical competence and implementation of it in teaching English are still include on the good category.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to investigate young learners perceptions and moral values on listening while English language teaching for young learner by having "Dora: The Lost Gold City" Movie at SMP Daarul Yaqiin. Method of research used descriptive analysis to explore young learner’s perception and moral values. Instrument used were observation, questionnaires and interviews. Interviews and questionnaires were conducted in the seventh grades of SMP Daarul Yaqiin. It was followed by 50 young learners who join listening class. The results of this study indicate; (1) Young learners give a good perception about the use of the movie "Dora: The lost city of gold" (2) Young learners give positive feedback to attract listening skills by using the movie "Dora: The lost city of gold" in learning, and (3) young learners get moral values by watching the movie "Dora: The lost city of gold". The advantages of using the movie "Dora: The lost city of gold" in learning listening are; it helps young learners understanding the subject easily, young learners were happy, gave them motivation to learn English for young learner. From these finding the conclusion was the used of the movie "Dora: The lost city of gold" in English listening easy understanding material has positive response from young learners and also provided several benefits for them especially moral values for young learners.

Abstract

The background of the researcher to analyze students' ability in writing narrative texts by analyzing several aspects of writing skills in the form of content, organizational ideas, grammar, vocabulary and mechanical punctuation. The aims of the research are to find out suggestopedia method able to increase students’ writing of narrative text and to find out studensts’ interest using suggestopedia method. The method used in this research was classroom action research. The research procedure includes cycle I and cycle II using research instruments in the form of observations and tests. This research was conducted at SMAN 1 BINUANG class XI MIA 1. Minimum completeness criteria (KKM) value is 70. The results of research on student pre-test got the average score of 41 and cycle 1 got average score of 68 and have not reached KKM. Therefore, treatment was carried out to be able to increase the students score by doing learning used suggestopedia method in cycle 2 obtained average score of 79 has reached KKM. Then, the action hyphotesis could be said that the suggestopedia method improve students’ writing narrative text and make students interested in learning. Futhermore, it could be concluded that the results of these scores prove that one of the supporting factors to improve the student learning outcomes is the used of appropriate learning methods and can be well received by students such as the suggestopedia method.
