Abstract

Sea urchins are found in almost every area of ​​the islands which are scattered in Indonesia. One of them in Wawama Village, Morotai Island Regency. Local people use sea urchins as food, but the knowledge of sea urchins themselves is a food that has economic value. While the morphological and ecological aspects so far have not been known. This aims to study the morphological characteristics and analyze the ecological index of sea urchins. This research was conducted in November-December 2019 in the Village of Wawama, South Morotai District, Pulau Morotai District. The results showed that there were differences in the morphological characteristics of the types of sea urchins found in the study location both from body shape, color and external organs. The results of the ecological index analysis for the value of the density of sea urchins look varied, where the type of Diadema setosum has the highest value in all research stations. Species diversity at the three stations with a range of values ​​from 0.658 to 1.032-1.336 with an average value of 1.009, according to the species diversity criteria (H ') in the medium category Shannon Winner analysis. Evenness index (E) category is quite evenly distributed because the values ​​obtained ranged from 0.329 to 0.346 on average by 0.336 and the dominance index (C) was declared to be no species dominance because the values ​​obtained ranged from 0.275 to 0.535 with the mean of the three stations amounted to 0.396. Abstract

The condition of mangrove ecosystems in the coastal areas of Daruba Pantai Village is increasing under pressure both physically and ecologically. The still low awareness of the community to maintain the preservation of mangrove ecosystems well as increasing economic needs, triggers a decline in the extent and quality the environment of mangrove forests. The aim to determine the composition of species and structure of mangrove ecosystem communities. This research was conducted in the mangrove ecosystem area of ​​Daruba Pantai Village, Morotai Island Regency in September - October 2019. The data collection technique used was the observation method and field sampling using the transect plot method. Date were analyzed using quantitative descriptive methods for the composition of mangrove species and mangrove community structure analysis using formula according to (Bengen, 2001) including; type density, relative density, frequency, relative frequency, closure, relative closure, and important values. The results showed that the composition of Mangrove species were found many as 9 species consisting of 5 families Rhizohoraceae as many as 5 species, while the family Rubiacea, Sonneratiaceae, Myrsinaceae, Combertaceae each type 1 type. While the results of community structure analysis of the importance and individual densities of the mangrove species found in the research location at all growth rates are still dominated by Rhizophora stylosa species, indicating that this species is able to adaptation to environmental changes and habitat suitability.

Abstract

Sea cucumber is one of the organisms that live and are associated with various aquatic ecosystems, especially the seagrass ecosystems as the main habitat. The lack of public knowledge about the ecological functions of sea cucumber causes these organisms to be subjected to excessive exploitation to trade. Excessive pressure can cause an imbalance in the ecosystem even if left continuously, this organism will experience population degradation. This research was conducted from November to December 2019 at the Juanga Waters, Pulau Morotai Regency. The purpose of this research is to know the structure of the sea cucumber community in the waters of Juanga Village, South Morotai District, and Pulau Morotai Regency. Data retrieval in this research using the method transects squared which consists of three stations with a square size of 1x1 meter. Analysis of community structure data includes; density, Species Diversity, Dominance Index and Uniformity Index. The results of the analysis of the highest density values ​​are found in station II with a value of 1.133 (Ind / m2) hereinafter at station III with a value of 1,011 (Ind / m2) and the lowest density value is at a station I with a value of 1,000 (Ind /m2). The highest density value to three stations is the Holothuria atra type. The results of the analysis of species diversity (Holothuroidea) in the waters of Juanga from the three stations are relatively low with an average value of 2.42; the Dominance Index is relatively low. While the uniformity index indicates the medium category on all research stations.

Abstract

The waters of Juanga Village have the potential for marine biological resources to vary considerably among seagrass coral reef ecosystems and various other types of biological resources. One of them is the macroalgae community. The aim of this study is to analyze the macroalgae ecological index in the waters of Juanga Village, Morotai Island Regency. The research began in November to December 2019. The data collection method used a quadrat transect of 1x1 m² in size. Ecological index data analysis includes Density (D), Type Composition (KJ), Diversity (H '), and Uniformity (E). The result showed highest composition of species at station I was Halimeda cunneata (24.49%), station II was Halimeda cunneata (33.333%), station III was of Halimeda cunneata and Padina australis (27.777%). The highest individual density at Station I of the Halimeda cunneata type (1,333 ind / m²), Station II of the Halimeda Cunneata type 1,056 (ind/m²), Station III of the Halimeda cunneata and Padina australis types has an individual density of 1,111 (Ind / m²). The diversity of macroalgae in the waters of Juanga Village is classified as "Low" with a value of H' 1,956 The results of the analysis of the Macalal Uniformity (E) Index in the waters of Juanga Village are classified as "High" because the average value obtained at the three research stations is 0.829.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian adalah merumuskan alternatis strategi prioritas pengelolaan perikanan tuna di Kab. Pulau Morotai. Adapun manfaat yang diperoleh antara lain sebagai rekomendasi bagi PEMDA Kabupaten Pulau Morotai melalui Dinas Kelautan dan Perikanan Pulau Morotai untuk pengembangan perikanan tuna. Penelitian dilakukan di Kabupaten Pulau Morotai selama tida bulan yaitu bulan Juni-Agustus 2018.Pengumpulan data dilapangan menggunakan metode survei.Dimana data yang diperoleh terdiri dari data primer dan data sekunder.Altaernatif strategi menggunakan analisis SWOT dengan terlebih dahulu mengidentifikasi faktor eksternal dan faktor internal usaha perikanan tuna di Kab. Pulau Morotai.Hasil identifikasi dan pembobotan serta skoring faktor internal memberikan nilai sebesar 2,834, sedangkan hasil skoring faktor eksternal sebesar 3,327.Berdasarkan nilai tersebut dari keempat alternative strategi yaitu strategi SO, Strategi ST, strategi WO, dan strategi WT, diperoleh strategi prioritas untuk pengelolaan adalah strategi SO.Strategi prioritas pengelolaan perikanan tuna di Kab. Pulau Morotai terdiri dari: (1) Menerapan model pengelolaan perikanan tuna terpadu; (2) Membuka peluang pasar melalui penetapan alur bisnis perikanan tuna dengan investor dari luar Kabupaten Pulau Morotai (dalam maupun luar negeri); (3) Manajemen pengelolaan yang baik, melalui program Koperasi nelayan.

Abstract

ABSTRAKKabupaten Pulau Morotai merupakan salah satu wilayah yang memiliki potensi sumberdaya laut yang cukup melimpah, terutama jenis-jenis ikan, serta berbagai biota laut seperti, teripang, lobster dan berbagai jenis moluska yang hidup berasosiasi dengan terumbu karang. Ditinjau dari aspek ekologi beberapa jenis organisme aveteberata memiliki peran sebagai bio-indikator bagi kesehatan karang sedangkan dari aspek ekonomidapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan makanan maupun obat-obatan dan tentunya memiliki nilai jual yang sangat tinggi. Data dan informasi mengenai potensi sumberdaya laut non ikan seperti organisme avertebrata terumbu karang masih sangat minim olehnya itu perlu dilakukan kajian ilmiah mengenai keberadaan organisme tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui komposisi jenis serta mengetahui keanekaragaman jenis, indeks dominasi, indeks keseragaman dan kepadatan jenis dari organisme avertebrata terumbu karang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei sampai pada bulan September 2017yang berlokasi di Tanjung Dehegila Kabupaten Pulau Morotai. Metode pengambilan data yang digunakan yaitu metode transek sabuk(belt transect). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa komposisi jenis avertebrata yang ditemukan pada lokasi penelitian terdiri dari; stasiun I sebanyak 20 jenis dan 54 individu, stasiun II sebanyak 11 jenis dan 23 individu, sementara pada stasiun III sebanyak 19 jenis dan 45 individu. Hasil analisis keanekaragaman jenis avertebrta dilokasi penelitian tergolong tinggi, Indeks dominansi pada ketiga stasiun tergolong rendah. Sementara itu hasil analisis indeks keseragamantermasuk kategori tinggi. Sedangkan hasil analisis kepadatan jenis organisme avertebrata dilokasi penelitian di wakili oleh jenis lincikia laevigata dari Filum Ehinodermata.Kata kunci: inventarisasi, organisme averetebrarta, terumbu karang.

This study aimed to analyze the percentage of coral cover and the sediment rates in the reclamation area of Daruba City, Morotai Island Regency. This research was carried out in November 2019 using the LIT method to calculate the percentage of coral cover and sediment trap to retrieve sedimentation data. The sediment trap was placed in the bottom waters for 14 days. Stratified filtering was used to separate the sediment, and analytical scales were used to measure dry sediment weight in grams. Sediment sample testing was conducted in the laboratory of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Khairun University, Ternate. Measurement data were analyzed to calculate the percentage of coral cover and sediment rate analysis. The analysis showed that the percentage of live coral cover was in the range of 10.8 - 20.52%, this value indicates the condition of coral reefs in the waters of the village of Daruba and the waters of the reclaimed development area of the city of Daruba were in the poor category. Abstract

Potensi sektor perikanan  di Kabupaten Pulau Morotai cukup melimpah terutama perikanan tangkap, sebagian besar masyarakatnya berprofesi sebagai nelayan salah satunya yaitu Desa Daeo Kecamatan Morotai Selatan. Dalam Upaya  memaksimal lagi hasil tangkapan nelayan  maka diperlukan alat bantu penangkapan ikan, dimana nelayan dituntut agar dapat memanfaatkan teknologi dibidang perikanan tangkap, selain sebagai sarana pendukung teknologi penangkapan ikan dapat juga mempermudah nelayan dalam menentukan lokasi penangkapan ikan (fishing ground). Jika teknologi fish finder ini dapat digunakan oleh nelayan secara luas maka pendapatan hasil tangkapan nelayan akan meningkat dan akan berdampak pula  perekonomian masyarakat nelayan. Tujuan dari PkM ini yaitu, memberikan pengetahuankepada nelayan dalam memanfaatkan teknologi penangkapan ikan moderen. Berdasarkan pada hasil evaluasi pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang telah dilakukan, dapat simpulkan sebagai bahwa Nelayan tuna desa Daeo telah mampu mengaplikasikan teknologi fish finder sebagai alat bantu dalam operasi penangkapan ikan tuna. Nelayan perlu dibekali dengan kemampuan dalam menguasai teknologi penangkapan ikan, agar operasi penangkapan dapat berjalan lebih efektif dan efesien selain itu, diharapakan hasil tangkapan dan pendapatan nelayan dapat meningkat setelah menggunakan teknologi ini. Kata Kunci : Pengabdian masyarakat, Fish finder, Nelayan tuna
