Abstract

Teaching physic in high schools is very challenging, especially where the teachers understanding of the concept and teaching methods is still limited. It needs an effort to make the teaching more exciting experience for students. This study, therefore, aims to investigate the application of Science Process Skills (SPS) as the scientific skills that can be used to develop and increase science process skills and understanding of physics subject through laboratory activity. This study utilizes experimental design by involving students grade X from Senior High School (SMA) 1 Banda Aceh academic year 2018/2019 as a sample. It follows the competency standard of 2013 Indonesian Curriculum. This study found that there is a positive correlation between the content of the physics syllabus and the science process skills. This condition has contributed positively to the learning achievements of students. The result of pre-and post-test shows the result of post-test has improved after applying this approach. Hence it is recommended that science Process Skills can be promoted as a tool to improve the ability of students in understanding the science concept within the physic, as well as other science subjects.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in students' interest in learning and understanding of students' concepts on elasticity and Hooke's law which is taught through the Guide Discovery Learning model assisted by audio-visual media at MAN 4 Aceh Besar. The method in this study is a quasi-experimental design with a pretest posttest control group. This research was conducted on students of class XI MAN 4 Aceh Besar. The sampling technique in this research is purposive sampling. The instruments used are questionnaires and questions. The results of the analysis of the t test (independent sample t test) obtained a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, so it can be concluded that Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a difference in the average learning interest of the experimental class and control class students. The results of the N-gain analysis of the experimental class obtained an average score of 0.68 and the control class obtained an average score of 0.42 in the medium category. The results of the analysis of the t test (independent sample t test) obtained a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, so it can be concluded that Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a difference in the average understanding of the concepts of the experimental class and control class students. The conclusion in this study proves that Guided Discovery Learning assisted by audio-visual media can increase students' interest in learning and understanding of students' concepts on elasticity and Hooke's law

Abstract

21st century learning emphasizes that information and knowledge are obtained together with good communication and cooperation among fellow students in building their knowledge. One of the appropriate learning models and approaches to be applied in accordance with 21st century learning is the Investigative Science Learning Environment (ISLE) combined with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). This study uses the Research and development (R & D) method with the ADDIE (Analysis-Design-Develop-Implement-Evaluate) model. The product developed in this study is ISLE-based STEM learning media in the form of Student Worksheets on Geometry Optics material and the relationship between ISLE-based STEM learning and Teacher Professionalism Development is reviewed

Abstract

Abstrak : Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk souvenir khas kota Sabang melalui program pelatihan KKN-PPM. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di lima desa dari dua kecamatan di kota Sabang, yakni kecamatan Sukajaya dan Sukakarya. Sasaran dari kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah ibu-ibu rumah tangga, murid sekolah dan remaja putri desa setempat, sebagai usaha untuk meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat setempat dengan cara memanfaatkanrotan sebagai sumber daya alamnya. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah produk souvenir menarik yang bercirikan kota Sabang sebagai kota bahari, seperti topi dan tikar pantai. Keberhasilan kegiatan ini dapat dilihat dari hasil penjualan produk pelatihan yang dilakukan di desa Iboih sebagai pusat wisata kota Sabang. Tersedianya souvenir khas Sabang ini akan semakin memikat para wisatawan untuk datang ke Sabang sehingga memberi efek positif terhadap ekonomi keluarga. Kata Kunci: Sabang, rotan, souvenir, KKN-PPM dan bahari

Abstract

Di dunia pendidikan, guru profesional menjadi faktor utama dalam meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia. Begitu penting peran guru dalam proses pendidikan, maka seorang guru dituntut untuk selalu meningkatkan kemampuannya. Namun kenyataan masih banyak ditemukan guru yang kurang berkompeten khususnya pada kompetensi pedagogik dan profesional. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan kompetensi pedagogik dan profesional guru dalam peningkatan hasil belajar fisika peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, angket, tes, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi pedagogik guru tergolong baik, terlihat dari sikap guru dalam menghadapi peserta didik, pelaksanaan pembelajaran yang berpedoman pada RPP, pengelolaan kelas dan melakukan evaluasi setiap habis pokok pembahasan. Pada kompetensi profesional, guru terlihat menguasai substansi keilmuan yang terkait dengan bidang studi dan memahami materi ajar. Namun ada beberapa materi yang masih perlu dipelajari seperti teori kinetik gas, hukum termodinamika dan inti atom. Selain itu, upaya guru dalam peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik juga sudah maksimal. Meski masih memiliki kekurangan, namun hal tersebut tidak menjadi alasan bagi guru dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar, karena hasil belajar tidak sepenuhnya dipengaruhi oleh kompetensi guru. Ada faktor lain yang mempengaruhi proses pembelajaran seperti minat, tingkat kecerdasan, bakat, motivasi, dan lingkungan peserta didik.

Abstract

Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) is a technique that used for quantitative elemental analysis of various samples in different forms. In this technique, a laser light is focused on the surface of sample yielding a plasma just above the sample surface that used for analytical source. Nowadays, rapid powder analysis in tiny amount (mg) has been carried out using plasma induced by high power laser of Nd:YAG (Neodymium-doped Yttrium Aluminium Garnet) at atmospheric pressure. However, powder analysis using high power laser is still difficult to be carried out due to blow of powder when irradiated laser beam focused on a powder sample. In general, the powder must be transformed into pellet form prior to analysis. Pellet sample requires a lot of powder and it takes time for preparation. In this study, we developed a technique of powder sample with its size about 30 m ( 5 mg) that mixed with silicon grease ( 5 mg) that act as a binder. The mixed sample then thinly painted on the metal plate as sub-target. The study showed that by employing sillicon grease technique, a semiquantitative analysis of several elements contain in coal, rock, and water can be conducted. Meanwhile heavy metal in soils is still not able to detect. This results showed that sillicon grease technique using Nd:YAG laser can be applied for rapid semi-quantitative analysis of powder samples available only in tiny amounts.Keywords: high pressured plasma, Nd:YAG laser, powder analysis, silicon grease technique
