Abstract

This study aimed to elicit empirical evidence regarding the effectiveness of principal academic supervision in enhancing teacher performance at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Aceh Barat Daya. It also determines how the execution of the principal's academic supervision affects teacher performance and hence the quality of education. Qualitative research was used in this study. The researchers employed a descriptive method in conjunction with a phenomenological qualitative approach to investigate a social phenomenon or human problem in this study. The data gathering strategies used in this study were structured interviews, observation, and documentation. Academic supervision of the principal at Madrasah Tsanawiyah in Aceh Barat Daya occurred according to the implementation plan, the material being coached, the implementation results, and the feedback from academic supervision implementation to improve the performance of class teachers.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the performance of certified teacher teachers in managing learning at a Private Madrasah Aliyah in Banda Aceh. The approach used in this research is qualitative. The type of research used in this research is descriptive. The results showed that the performance of certified teachers in managing learning had been made as much as possible so that it is carried out as expected. The supporting factors for the performance of certified educator teachers in managing learning consist of internal and external factors. Internal factors that hinder the learning process are influenced by the lack of experimental materials provided in the laboratory.

Abstract

This study aims to gather information about the principal's strategy and program for enhancing the quality of learning at SD IT Nurul Ishlah Banda Aceh. The researchers employed a descriptive method in conjunction with a qualitative analysis approach to address the study's difficulties and objectives. It relates to the consideration of data described in the context of the research site's reality. Interview guidelines and observation sheets were utilized as instruments. The Miles and Huberman model was used to analyze the data. The findings indicate that the principal's strategy for improving the quality of learning is based on planning, specifically on developing school programmes that adhere to eight educational standards and three quality standards established by the Integrated Islamic School Network (JSIT). It also needs to build the capacity of teachers and staff to improve the quality of learning, conduct coaching and self-development activities for students, and create an atmosphere of learning based on Ukhuwah Islamiah/family ties in Islam.

Abstract

Abstract:In achieving the management objectives used and the resources that run them, this research objectives are: knowing the planning, use, supervision, control, and obstacle of BOS fund management to improve the quality of learning. The data collection method used qualitative method and data collection techniques through: observation, interviews and documentation studies. The research subjects were the principal, vice principal, treasurer, school committee, vice curriculum, and teachers. The results showed that the planning was formulated through RAPBS or RKAS by involving the deputy head, treasurer and committee, the use of funds in accordance with technical guidelines, supervision carried out by schools and agencies, accountability in the form of reports reported by the treasurer, and the obstacles faced were the procurement of school necessities that are not as desired. This means that when procuring high-quality school needs, it must adjust to standard quality, then there will be no BOS fund overrun.Abstrak:Dalam mencapai tujuan organisasi dipengaruhi manajemen yang diterapkan dan sumber daya yang menjalankannya, sesuai dengan itu tujuan penelitian ini adalah: untuk mengetahui perencanaan, penggunaan, pengawasan, pertanggungjawaban serta kendala dalam pengelolaan dana BOS untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan metode kualitatif dan teknik pengumpulan data melalui: observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah, bendahara, komite sekolah, wakilkurikulum, dan guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perencanaan dirumuskan melalui RAPBS atau RKAS dengan melibatkan Wakil Kepala, bendahara serta komite, penggunaan dana sesuai dengan juknis, pengawasan dilaksanakan oleh pihak sekolah dan dinas, pertanggungjawaban berupa laporan yang dilaporkan oleh bendahara, dan kendala yang dihadapi adalah pengadaan barang kebutuhan sekolah yang terkadang tidak sesuai dengan yang diinginkan. Artinya pada saat pengadaan kebutuhan sekolah dengan kualitas tinggi harus menyesuaikan kualitas yang standar tidak terjadi pembengkakan dana BOS.

Abstract

Academic supervision conducted by the principal is one of the factors affecting the increase in the quality of education in schools. To realize the improvement of the quality of education, the principal requires good planning in developing supervision programs to improve the professionalism of teachers. The purpose of this study was a) to determine the ability of the principal in planning supervision, a) strategy principals carry out supervision, c) policy principals in following up the results of supervision, d) the factors supporting and inhibiting supervision, and e) the achievement of academic supervision that conducted by the principal. This research uses descriptive method with qualitative approach. Data was collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The subjects were teachers at SMAN 1 Blang Pidie, Aceh Barat Daya. The results showed: (1) Planning supervision carried out by the school principal has been running optimally, the principal who made planning supervision. (2) technical-tiknik implementation of academic supervision carried out by the school head has been systematically and have a plan so that teachers feel their support of principals in improving the quality of learning. (3) Follow-up of the supervision is done by noting the deficiencies in the current classroom observation, calling the teacher personally, and discuss the results with the teacher council meeting. (4) The inhibiting factors include the competence of the academic supervision head of the lower school, while the other supporting factors principals and teachers have the commitment, motivation, and a sense of family that performs implementation of academic supervision already achieved effectively despite some shortcomings in carrying out academic supervision is very assist teachers in improving and increasing the quality of teaching.

Abstract

Managerial competency of principality is one of factors determined performance school personnel and the success of education in school. The research aimed to gained overviews on managerial competency of principality in program arrangement. The program implementation to improved school personnel performance. . The constraints faced by principal implementing the programme of increasing the school staffs’ performance. This research used descriptive method with qualitative approach. Technique of data collection were observation, interview, and documentation. The subject of this research were head master, vice principal, teacher, head of administrative, laboran, and librarian. The result of this research showed that: (1) Managerial competency of principal in this study has superiority in the process of planning the programme namely: The competency applied the vision, mission, and goals of the school. The programme of increasing the school staffs’ performance was running well. It could be seen from the structure of school organisation in arranging planning work and administration of the school. (2) Managerial competency of principal in increasing the school staffs’ performance did not targeted standard since the management of educational mediums, budgeting, and its organisation were not optimally optimised. (3) There were also constrains faced by the stakeholders in implementing the programme of increasing the school staffs’ performance. One of them was the organised plan, which became unorganised one during the implementation. Low budgeting also contributed to the constraints. Moreover, as mentioned above, the discontinuous trainings and unfollow-up supervision also forced the implementation of the program.

Abstract

Educational facilities and infrastructure needs a good management. This study aimed to find out the management of educational facilities and infrastructure carried out by principal, the efforts in planning the needs of educational facilities and infrastructure, the utilization and maintenance process carried out by principal in the management of educational facilities and infrastructure. To achieve the aim, this study used qualitative approach. The techniques of data collection were interview, observation, and documentation study. The procedures of data analysis were data reduction, data display, and verification. The subjects of the study were the principal, vice principal, teachers, administrative staffs, and laboratory and library staffs. The results of the study showed that: (1) the process of planning educational facilities and infrastructure included aspect of: (a) provision of educational facilities and infrastructure in order to fulfill the needs in accordance with the development of education each year, (b) provision of educational facilities and infrastructure in order to be able to be conducted in form of displacement from one place to another place, (c) the maintenance of educational facilities and infrastructure was attempted to be always in good condition. (2) The utilization of educational facilities and infrastructure was very effective and able to produce a final goal of education program; and (3) The effort of principal in maintenance process in order to prevent or reduce the damage of facilities and infrastructure was by conducting maintenance to equipment like projector, computer, and laboratory equipment continually, regular maintenance, emergency maintenance, and preventive maintenance in order the facilities and infrastructure would be always effectively function.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the learning management of Ibn Mas'ud integrated Islamic elementary school teachers, Pidie Regency, during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach and data obtained from observations, interviews and relevant literature studies. This study found that learning planning by the Ibn Mas'ud Integrated Islamic Elementary School teacher conducted in a participatory manner by involving all education stakeholders. Then, the teachers' learning implementation and evaluation structured, and teachers also optimize students' parents' roles. Thus, the learning management implementation has a positive impact on teaching and learning activities even in the covid-19 pandemic.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tentang manajemen pembelajaran guru Sekolah Dasar Islam Terpadu Ibnu Mas’ud Kabupaten Pidie pada masa darurat Covid-19. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, dan diperoleh dari hasil observasi, wawancara, dan studi literatur yang relevan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan pembelajaran  oleh guru Sekolah Dasar Islam Terpadu Ibnu Mas’ud dilakukan secara partisipatif dengan melibatkan semua stakeholder pendidikan yang ada di sekolah. Implementasi dan evaluasi pembelajaran oleh guru juga dilaksanakan secara partisipatif  dan guru mampu mengoptimalkan peran orangtua siswa. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengaplikasian manajemen pembelajaran berdampak positif pada kegiatan belajar mengajar meskipun dalam kondisi pandemi covid-19.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of teachers management professional development through the Teachers Working Group. This study is a mixed research conducted in ten districts /cities spread in Aceh Province, involving 37 Elementary Schools. The subject in this study include core teacher, teachers, chairman of the KKKS (Principal Working Group), as well as education offices chosen by purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews, observation and documentation. Qualitative data analysis carried out by the procedure or steps such as data reduction, data display, and verification. The results showed that: (1) Profile of KKG in general consists of the components: (a) the legal basis, the name, position, and the nature of the organization, (b) the vision, mission, and futuristic goals, (c) membership, management and organizational structure, (d) Basic budget, and (e) the facilities and infrastructure for KKG; (2) the implementation of KKG is done through the regular and development activities; (3) The obstacles encountered in the implementation of KKG include: (a) inadequate facilities and infrastructure are inadequate, (b) financing needs to be improved, (c) the motivation of teachers is still low, (d) the principal supports to include teachers in routine activities are lacking due priority school activities, and (e) the support of local government and education authorities on the development of KKG is still lack; while (4) KKG development management evaluation done with the steps: (a) the supervision and monitoring, evaluation, and feedback.

Abstract

Principal leadership plays an important role in planning, developing, encouraging, supervising and evaluating schools so that a goal is achieved effectively, efficiently in improving the quality of schools. The purpose of the study was to determine the principal's leadership in the preparation, 1) quality improvement school principal's rules and regulations, 2) quality improvement principal program, 3) the principal's strategy for improving school quality and, 4) barriers to school principals in improving school quality at SD Negeri Alue Bata and SD Negeri Ujong Patihah, Nagan Raya Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection was obtained through interviews, observation and documentation. The subjects of the study were the principal, deputy principal, teacher, superintendent and head of school accreditation. The results of the study found that 1) the rules of discipline of the principal were prepared by the principal with the approval of educators and educational personnel who delivered during the meeting, 2) the principal's program in the form of an annual work program, a semester work program whose preparation is assisted by a teacher, an end-of-semester extracurricular program, 2) The principal's strategy is to hold teacher meetings and student guardian meetings, complete learning books, procurement of new buildings, selection of new students and transfer students. Cooperation with stakeholders in preparation for accreditation, discipline in school regulations, holding technology training for teachers, involving teachers in the KKG, providing equipment and materials in overcoming the corona disease outbreak. Strategic planning in the form of significant and time, 3) barriers to school principals applied, lack of teacher discipline in collecting learning tools, lack of interest in reading students in the library, some teachers did not join in preparing for accreditation due to lack of concern and sense of responsibility for school progress. Abstrak Kepemimpinan kepala sekolah berperan penting dalam menyusun perencanaan, mengembangkan, mendorong, mengawasi dan mengevaluasi sekolah sehingga tercapai suatu tujuan secara efektif, efisien dalam meningkatkan mutu sekolah. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam penyusunan, 1) peraturan tata tertib kepala sekolah peningkatan mutu, 2) program kepala sekolah peningkatan mutu, 3) strategi kepala sekolah peningkatan mutu sekolah, dan 4) hambatan kepala sekolah peningkatan mutu sekolah di SD Negeri Alue Bata dan SD Negeri Ujong Patihah Kabupaten Nagan Raya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Pengumpulan data di peroleh melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah kepala sekolah,wakil kepala sekolah,guru, pengawas dan kepala bidang pengakreditasian sekolah. Hasil penelitian di temukan, yaitu 1) peraturan tata tertib kepala sekolah disusun oleh kepala sekolah atas persetujuan pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan yang sampaikan saat rapat, 2) program kepala berupan program kerja tahunan, program kerja semester yang penyusunannya dibantu oleh guru, program ekstrakurikuler akhir semester, 3) Strategi kepala sekolah yang di terapkan mengadakan rapat guru dan rapat wali murid, melengkapi buku pembelajaran, pengadaan gedung baru, penyeleksian murid baru dan murid pindahan. Kerja sama dengan stakeholder dalam persiapan akreditasi, kedisplinan terhadap peraturan sekolah, mengadakan pelatihan tekhnologi untuk guru, mengikut sertakan guru mengikuti KKG, menyediakan peralatan dan bahan dalam mengatasi wabah penyakit corona. Perencanaan strategi berupa signifikan dan time, 4) hambatan kepala sekolah yang di terapkan kurangnya kedisipinan guru dalam mengumpulkan perangkat pebelajaran, kurang minat membaca siswa di perpustakaan, beberapa guru tidak ikut bergabung dalam mempersiapkan akreditasi karena kurangnya kepedulian dan rasa tanggung jawab terhadap kemajuan sekolah.
