Abstract

Kampung Hijau Mandiri is one of Tangerang Government’s Programs to increase public awareness for a clean, green, and beautiful surrounding. Ninety-eight of Kampung Hijau Mandiri were formed throughout Tangerang’s Sub-Districts, one of which is in RT 01 RW 06, Kreo Sub-District. Criteria for Kampung Hijau Mandiri include a lively, comfortable and clean village with waste sorting initiatives. Kreo, one of the densely populated villages in Tangerang, has 22,837 inhabitants. Waste generated in RT 01 RW 06, Kreo, Tangerang is around 2,040 liters/day, quite large and can be reduced. Presently, household wastes in RT 01 RW 06 are still managed conventionally using the collection and disposal system. The economic potential of household organic and inorganic waste has not been optimally utilized. Organic waste management through composting (Takakura baskets) and non-organic waste management through waste banks are considered appropriate for processing household wastes. Hence, the community develops a new habit of sorting and processing waste into productive means, reducing waste generation transported to landfills. The waste management educational mentoring program was attended by 14 people, especially housewives and Posyandu cadres, through presentations and question and answer. This activity has great potential to endure as housewives and Posyandu cadres in RT 01 RW 06 Kreo Sub-District are influential household stakeholders in their environment. Residents of RT 01 RW 06 Kreo Sub-District agreed to initiate waste bank establishments. This program is expected to increase citizen’s involvement in waste management. RT 01 RW 06 Kreo is an exemplary Kampung Hijau Mandiri.

Abstract

Used cooking oil are oils that have been used for cooking in restaurants, hotels, food industries, and households. They are dangerous waste when inappropriately disposed since it can interrupt the sewer system or be illegally reprocessed. To combat the issue, the government of Jakarta designed the UCO to Biodiesel supply chain in the Governor’s Regulation number 167 of 2016. However, it has yet to manage households despite potentially producing 210.465,31 litres of UCO per day. The goal of this community service is to create a collection system and to increase awareness of the dangers and potential of UCO in Bassura City Apartment, located in East Jakarta, which did not have UCO collection system. The collection system considers sustainability in terms of not only the environment but also social and economic. The community service is split into five steps: creating local partnerships, supply chain planning, awareness raising by socialization, monitoring and evaluation. Local partnership was created between the local mosque Al-Falah as local UCO collector, BeliJelantah the medium sized UCO collector, and Universitas Bakrie. UCO collected by Al-Falah is bought by BeliJelantah at a rate of Rp4,000.00 /litre. BeliJelantah provides basic equipment such as jerrycans and sieve. Socialization was partially done regularly before sermon and online due to Covid-19 restrictions. Since the implementation of the collection system, Al-Falah mosque has collected 33 Litres which was converted into Rp134,000.00. Sustainability of the collection of used cooking oil will be carried out by residents and the DKM Masjid in direct coordination with BeliJelantah by taking a minimum of 2 jerrycans with a volume of 18 litre or the equivalent of 36 litre. This system can be scaled up by increasing partnerships with more local groups and local management.

Abstract

One of the biggest contributors to the waste that goes into the Bantargebang TPST comes from areas and companies in DKI Jakarta. Therefore, the DKI Jakarta Government passed Governor Regulation No. 102 of 2021 concerning Obligations for Waste Management in Areas and Companies. With this Governor's Regulation, the waste bins not only meet the Governor's Regulation criteria but also must meet ergonomic standards to facilitate the sorting process. Pacific Place is one of the areas whose existing waste bins did not meet the criteria set by the Governor's Regulation, and segregation at the source was still ineffective, so it still must be re-sorted. As part of the Community Service, the team designed and provided ergonomic waste bins for sorting and provided socialization of a sorting system according to the Governor's Regulation. Prior to manufacturing ergonomic bins, a series of Focus Group Discussions (FGD), independent work, waste sampling, prototype trials, and socializations were carried out. Ergonomic waste bins have been designed according to Pacific Place requirements and comply with the Governor Regulation regulations and have high waste segregation efficiency with a 95-100% waste capture rate and 0-5% waste contamination rate for each type of waste bin tested: easy to decompose, recyclables and residue. The final product will be implemented in high-traffic areas so that it can also be an educational tool for Pacific Place visitors. With this implementation, Pacific Place is expected to contribute to reducing greenhouse gases from DKI Jakarta's solid waste sector and implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Abstract

Hydraulic Retention Time UAFB-R ditentukan sebesar 6 hari dengan volume operasi sebesar 9 liter.
