Abstract

ABSTRACTCarrier rice laborer is an informal sector worker who works to transfer the rice sacks from the truck load to the rice storehouse, they carried it with their waist or back. Transferring goods manually will build the lifting posture and hauling frequencies. Unnatural lifting postures will potentially be led to low back pain that marked by pain complaints. Low back pain is a pain on the lumbosacral and sacroiliac area that followed by the pain spreading from the leg to the foot. A mechanical factor is one of the main causes of low back pain from the heavy and repetitive activities. The pain characteristics were preceded by the hefty goods lifting history and the unnatural bending position while lifting the weighty goods. The purposed of this research was to understand the correlation of lifting postures and hauling frequencies that could cause low back pain. The type of this research was an observational analytic research with a crossectional technique. There were a total of 40 samples that had taken with the Total Population Technique from the Bulog 402 Storehouse Sokaraja. The data collected with the Skala Analogue scale (SAV) for low back pain. Data that had been collected were analyzed with the Rank Spearman correlation test. The Rank Spearman test results showed, that there was a correlation between lifting postures with low back pain, (p =0.016): (?=<0.05) and Correction Correlation (CC) = 0.380*. Meanwhile, there was no correlation between the hauling frequencies with low back pain. We recommended that the Bulog 402 storehouse management should conduct a regular supervision on their laborer work posture during their work time, and for the laborer it selves, a correct working posture and lifting goods with the suitable weight can reduce low back pain incidents. Abstract

One of the occupational diseases that can arise for workers with high accuracy is a decrease in their visual acuity. Therefore, it is necessary to study the risk factors of decreasing visual acuity in workers with high accuracy, such as in wig makers. This study aimed to examine the correlation between age, working period, lighting intensity, fatigue, and nutritional status with visual acuity, and to observe the main risk factors that can be used as a reference for predicting decreasing visual acuity. This study was an observational study that used a cross-sectional design. The population number for this study was 185 wig makers.A total of 85 samples were selected using simple random sampling. The study was carried out in January to March 2016 on wig makers in Purbalingga. The results showed that variables most closely associated with visual acuity were working period (p-value = 0.000 < 0.05), lighting intensity (p-value = 0.000 < 0.05), and fatigue (0.013 < 0.05). Variables that were not related to vision acuity were age (p-value = 0.846 > 0.05) and nutritional status (p-value = 0.562 > 0.05).

Abstract

Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are disorders of muscle function, tendons, nerves, blood vessels, bones and ligaments that usually occur in workers with work activities using muscle power, such as laundry workers. The study aimed to determine the attitude of the working relationship with the risk of MSDs in the Nothren Purwokerto district. Type cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach. The sampling technique using quota sampling with inclusion criteria of the respondents worked only on one particular part of the laundry work, they do not have any communication limilimitations and exclusion criteria respondents out of work and not willing to be the respondent. Based on these criteria obtained a sample of 150 people with a quota of each section is taken as a sample of 30 people, which is part of the weighing, washing, drying, ironing and packing. The results showed that the attitude of work-related MSDs are at the risk of leaching (p value= 0.014, p< 0.05). While the attitude of the weighing part employment (p= 0.77), drying (p= 0.257), ironing (p= 0.109), and packaging (p= 0.370) was not associated with risk of MSDs, because the value of p> 0.05. So it is concluded that only work attitude on the part pose a risk of MSDs washing. Therefore, it is necessary to intervene in the form of job training wash right attitude.

Abstract

The effort to achieve universal health coverage for all people under a single-payer national health insurance in Indonesia still experiences a substantial challenge particularly related to informal workers. This population faces a number of challenges, including income irregularity, a lack of educational variety, the fact that the majority of workers live in rural areas, and a lack of health insurance literacy. The objective of this study was to examine the factors that influence informal workers' willingness to pay for a national health insurance program in Indonesia. This cross-sectional study was conducted in the Banyumas district of Central Java, Indonesia. Employing a multistage random sampling technique, 316 workers in the informal sector were recruited as study participants. Logistic regression was employed to investigate the factors that influence willingness to pay for national health insurance premiums. According to the study findings, urban, national health insurance information, and uneducated factors were related to informal workers' willingness to pay for national health insurance. Workers who lived in urban area (p < 0.05, OR = 3.922) were more willing to pay for insurance premium. Workers who received better exposure of national health insurance information (p < 0.05, OR = 2.330) were more willing to pay for premium. Furthermore, workers who uneducated (p < 0.05, OR = 14.847) were more willing to pay for premium. The national health insurance campaign serves as a catalyst for increasing public awareness of this program. Adequate and widespread national health insurance program information dissemination would aid in the effectiveness of Indonesia's efforts to achieve the goal of universal health insurance coverage.

Abstract

Abstract

Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), characterized by pain, stiffness, numbness, and other physical discomforts in the muscles and supporting structures, are prevalent among online motorcycle drivers due to prolonged sitting, limited rest, and repetitive movements. This study aimed to analyze individual factors associated with MSDs complaints among Grab-Bike drivers in Purwokerto, Indonesia. A cross-sectional study was conducted using accidental sampling with 77 respondents from a population of 330 drivers. Data were collected using the Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire and analyzed through univariate, bivariate (chi-square and Spearman correlation), and multivariate (multiple logistic regression) analyses. The findings showed that the factors influencing MSDs complaints were age (p value = 0.042), work tenure (p value = 0.026), body mass index (BMI) (p value =0.182), smoking habits (p value =0.895), exercise habits (p value =0.863), and history of MSDs (p value = 0.529). Age and work tenure were significantly associated with MSDs complaints, while, BMI, smoking habits, exercise habits, and history of MSDs showed no significant association. The most influential factor was work tenure (OR = 6.340). Daily working hours adjustments and regular health monitoring are recommended to reduce MSDs risks in this occupational group.
