Abstract

Famine seasons are times when crops that have been planted with difficulty do not produce results due to several factors, and one example is a long dry period that causes at least one famine season. In the face of such a situation, some farmers take advantage of opportunities in the famine season or overcome the difficulties that occur in the famine season in various ways. The purpose of this study is to understand the real income received by farming households in Rombiya Barat Ganding Village during the Famine season period. Can income during the Famine season continue until the next planting period, and how farmer households maintain their survival during the Famine period? This research uses methodology by applying qualitative descriptive data analysis techniques, mainly focusing on the case study approach. Data collection is done through observation, interviews, and documentation, with primary and secondary data sources. The study participants consisted of 10 rice farmers. This study examines the real income of farmers in the lean season from the point of view of their income and consumption. The results show that rice farmers can maintain their real income until the replanting period because their consumption patterns are more controlled and the famine season does not hamper their production, so that rice farmers can achieve their survival.

Abstract

Sharia banking in Indonesia has experienced a significant increase in performance, as evidenced by the proliferation of Islamic financial institutions. The ijarah (rent) contract, which is frequently utilized in daily life, is one of the fascinating contracts to talk about. Human needs cause constant adjustments to this agreement. The contract ijarah muntahiya bittamlik (IMBT), sometimes referred to as al-Ijarah thumma al-bai' (AITAB), and hire and buy are two examples of such modifications. This agreement uses two separate contracts, namely a lease contract (ijarah / leasing or renting) and a sale and purchase contract (bai '/ purchase). IMBT contracts are comparable to the traditional lease agreements that are still in use today. The author finds that the IMBT contract can be a solution in providing affordable Public Housing Loans to the public, Yet, because of the dearth of research and practical understanding surrounding the contract, it is still sporadically utilized in Islamic banking.

Abstract

The concept of Musyarakah Mutanaqishah contract is one form of partnership contract in Islamic banking that is rapidly developing as an alternative financing, where the bank and the customer together provide capital for a business and the bank will gradually reduce ownership of the business along with payments by the customer. In this contract, the customer does not only act as a borrower, but also as a partner in sharing profits and losses based on the proportion of each capital contribution. The implementation of Musyarakah Mutanaqishah in Islamic banking provides a solution for financing the purchase of assets such as houses or vehicles while maintaining sharia principles, including the prohibition of usury, gharar, and maysir. In practice, the Musyarakah Mutanaqishah contract is not only beneficial for both parties, but also provides a sense of justice and transparency in transactions. However, the implementation of this contract still faces challenges in terms of operations, regulations, and market understanding that need to be continuously developed in order to maximize its benefits. This article aims to analyze the basic concept of Musyarakah Mutanaqishah, its implementation mechanism in Islamic banking products, as well as the challenges and opportunities faced in its implementation.

Abstract

Abstract

This study is driven by the critical role of employee performance—defined as the capability and effort of workers to meet organizational standards—in the success of Islamic financial institutions, particularly BMT NU in Madura. BMT NU operates with distinct cultural, religious, and ethical values that may differentially influence employee performance compared to conventional institutions. Factors such as Islamic Organizational Culture, Interpersonal Communication, Reward, and Punishment are examined for their impact on employee performance. These factors influence employee performance because Islamic organizational culture provides ethical guidance and motivation, interpersonal communication enhances collaboration and clarity, rewards boost morale and productivity, and punishments enforce discipline and accountability, all of which collectively shape a conducive work environment. Using an exploratory research design with a quantitative descriptive approach, the study surveyed 78 employees who had worked at BMT NU in Madura for at least six months, selected through purposive sampling. Data was collected via questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS version 23. The findings reveal that Islamic culture (t=3.008), communication (t=2.279), rewards (t=2.229), and punishments (t=2.245) significantly affect performance (t-table=1.665). Simultaneously, F-count=30.905 > F-table=2.730, with R²=0.629 (62.9% variance explained). The research affirms that proper management of these factors is crucial for optimizing Islamic organizations' performance, recommending that BMT NU in Madura enhance Islamic culture and communication through religious training and team building while implementing a transparent Sharia-based reward-punishment system with fair evaluations and constructive feedback to sustain high employee performance.

Abstract

The demand for home ownership continues to rise, prompting Islamic banking to create financing products through the Musyarakah Mutanaqishah contract as an alternative in Home Ownership Credit. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Musyarakah Mutanaqishah contract within the context of Islamic banking. The research method used is qualitative descriptive. The findings indicate that while the Musyarakah Mutanaqishah contract is expected to enhance home accessibility for the public, its implementation in Islamic banks does not meet the regulations set forth in Fatwa DSN-MUI No. 73/DSN-MUI/XI/2008, particularly concerning the lack of capital contribution. As a result, the contract is deemed void despite being legally valid. This research contributes to providing insights into the challenges faced in implementing the Musyarakah Mutanaqishah contract within the Islamic banking system in Indonesia.
